It both baffles and saddens me to see so many people who not only think that this is a fawn, but also a few who think it might be fake. x3

I mean, come on you, guys.
Turn into Animal Planet or Discovery every blue moon.

Although yus, it is adorable. :P

Nope didn`t change my mind. The Oryx fawns have white stripes on their face and very short hair. This looks like a mule deer fawn.

Now do a google image search for "oryx" and tell me if you changed your mind.

Friend of mine, Bill Flowers, is a wildlife artist and rescuer. Quite often when you`re talking to him, some baby animal will pop its head out from under his pullover where its been snuggling, and the whole time you were talking to him, you didn`t realize it was there lol.

It looks more like a "Gunther`s Dik-Dik" which is a miniature African antelope. You can buy one for yourself herefor as little as $1250.00 . Who wouldn`t want one?

Meh, based on those other posts I guess they figured it out. Although I was right about it saying Munich Sealion, and it definitely says S.A. Oryx.

@davisboy,

Well, it looks like it may say "Munich Sealion" at the top. Which if that`s actually what it read I would assume refers to the Sealions at Hellabrunn Zoo in Munich, Germany.

That`s just a guess though, might not even say that. It definitely does look like Munich though.
Above that it just looks like name, Larry and "Car--n" something like that. Can`t make out those few letters. And the "a" that would be in Larry also looks like an "o" so that might not be it at all.

That`s about all I can get from the picture. Above it looks like S.A. Oryx, which would be a helicopter. So...I really have no idea. Maybe it`s some kind of animal rescue program or something.

davisboy - I still say it looks closer to a dik-dik than a Siberian Musk deer.

It`s not a key deer because key deer fawns have spots and tails. And I don`t think it is a Royal Antelope because his coat seems to dark and thick. Royal Antelope live in the desert areas of Africa, and they would overheat with hair like this.

So, I still think it is a Siberian Musk deer.

Can anyone identify some of the words on the whiteboard? It may help us determine the origin of the photo.

This seems like a good contest Idea fancy. Find the origin and/or details about the photo.

A dik-dik, pronounced "dĭk’ dĭk", is a small antelope of the Genus Madoqua that lives in the bush of East Africa, Angola and Namibia. Dik-diks stand 30–40 cm (approx. 12–16 inches) at the shoulder, are 50–70 cm (approx. 20-28 inches) long, weigh 3–6 kg (approx. 7-16 pounds) and can live for up to 10 years. Dik-diks are named for the alarm calls of the females, which make a dik-dik, or zik-zik sound.
