@Baalthazaq
I often tend to read people comments and start letting my brain do the typing if I see something that I can just rave upon. I wouldn`t say every country has "<country> envy" syndrome. Most countries have national pride, hell I know I do, but I would never say it`s the best place to live... Probably because I would so much rather retire and live in a Ferrari in Europe just wandering the continent for the remainder of my life.

Oh right, train tracks....

Look at the top triangle. We are at A. We were at C, and now we want to get to B, we are traveling at 88Mph what is the hypotenuse? And will we make it back to 1986 in time for prom?

All right Krisley I`m inspired. I`m going to do something. Imma eat some dorritos and then go for a walk on my segway while watching my tv watch and then come back for a bath while viewing my bathroom tivo showing reruns of Family Guy. Thanks for the motivation!

Anyone who thinks Andrew`s typical prick-teacher comment back is clever- is a tool.

And Ian isn`t too bright either.

I don`t exactly know what has all been said about the U.S. in the comments below, but here`s my two cents. Back in the good ole days of american invention, when I might`ve had pride to say I was an American, people did stuff. They invented some cool new technologies, bettered some older ones, and generally kicked ass. Once life became `easy`, however. We started getting lazy. None of us want to be the go-getters that we used to be, but we still want to believe that we`re the coolest country in the world. Unless we get off of our fat asses and start doing stuff again, that`s not going to happen...

This is not about proving Pythagoras` Theorem, it is about using it. And Ian did perfectly fine on Pythagoras - he only failed on the proportions.

I like Andrew`s comment.

Sorry but proving the Pythagoras Theorum is a stupid drating thing. I remember in high school doing this crap in geometry. It was the only math class i ever had issues with. Why do we need to prove it if its already been proven. What a waste of time.

Well I sure wasn`t expecting the comments regarding this picture to involve country bashing, but since we`re there anyway....

People hate on America because its popular to, and Americans get overly defensive and touchy since literally everything on the internet is about how much America sucks. So lets all bury the hatchet!! HORRAY FOR PROGRESS!!!!!

NOW, apart from my own rant below, America did invent a bunch of stuff, but again, the whole "we are the bestest place ever" is said by everyone, everywhere.

Most aren`t silly enough to say so in a public international forum though.

Now that that`s over, back on topic please.

Borat sucks.

1) 4Chan of the world is an awesome phrase.
2) USA envy is a little silly. Every country I`ve ever lived in (USA, UK, UAE, Italy) believes that they are the envy of the world. This isn`t just American pride. It`s everyone. Canada too.
3) "America invented everything". *Rant mode*
Flight? No.
Powered Flight? No.
Manned Flight? No.
Manned, Powered, Repeatable, Documented, Heavier than air flight? Yes! Quickly put it in all the textbooks!

Does anyone know the names of the people who did anything leading up to this? No, because what America does is reach an arbitrary point, and it`s a big deal.

Thing in space: USSR.
Animal in space: Dog. USSR.
Person in Space: Yuri Gellar (USSR).
Man on Moon: American yet? Yes? Wooohoo! We win! Quick! Textbooks!

Computer? (See Babbage)
Jet? (British)
Space Shuttle? (See Amerika bomber)
Car? (Steam, France. Gasoline, Germany)
Etc.

Next time you want to say somebody is envious of your country, try living in ANY country other than USA. Did you know most of the world LAUGHS at your country`s expense, and those who don`t laugh, want to kill you.

USA envy is the most ignorant idiot American thing I have ever seen posted on I-A-B, and that`s saying a lot.

I am envious of most of Europe. Every country has history and interesting things, plus if that particular country sucks, it`s probably less than a 2 hour drive to a good one.

"Sounds like you got a Canadian case of USA envy. Boo Hoo"

Yes, us Canadians want to live in a country half filled with retards who would actually have re-voted for Bush rather than Obama had it been possible. And half of these retards, do it out of racism and racial distrust, though they would never admit it. But they would openly bash every single one of Obama`s ideas and plans saying it`s absolute and utter crap without even considering the benefits.

America is too full of ignorant morons for me to ever...EVER, want to even consider visiting it. It`s a desperate wasteleand where good morals go to die. It`s the 4Chan of the world.

Yup, them ignogant Americans who invent just about everything. There is a city Algonquin in Illinois, USA by the way. This school Algonquin College Heritage Institute is in Ottawa, but I don`t think everyone in the world needs to know where every schoool in the world is located to not be ignorant. Sounds like you got a Canadian case of USA envy. Boo Hoo

Just for all the ignorant americans out there, it DOESN`T make sense for this to use imperial units, the test clearly says Algonquin College Heritage Institute, a college in OTTAWA. The internet does not belong to the states, please stop assuming that all of it IS american.

Yes, "Only Ian has the ability to fail himself." You don`t "get" a grade, you earn it. That`s what the teacher wanted this kid to understand.

"Do they really use the imperial measurement system in mathematics?"

It is not impractical when you consider a) measurements such as this have no bearing on real numbers so it doesn`t matter what units you use (you could use units called "asldkfja" if you wanted to) and b) if this is in a nation that uses imperial units, we need to know how to use them in mathematics or it would cause problems. It might be more practical for the whole nation to switch to metric, but that would have economic implications and, quite frankly, we just don`t want to.

We generally switch around all the time in math equations, since it`s irrelevant and marks if a student is paying attention, but use metric in science so that answers match up with constants used worldwide.

"And what`s all this about metric/imperial? All I see are numbers around a triangle."

It has apostrophes, indicating the lengths are in feet.

You learn both ways. Earlier grades use both, then when you get to higher classes, they use metric
At least from my experience

I hated showing my work in Grade 8 math `cause I thought it was a waste of time. On the instructions of a trig test one time the teacher wrote: "Show exactly how you got your answer."
I drew a calculator.
