Wierd S.s. numbers aren`t that bizarre. I have one that says I`m from the New England area, but I`ve never lived there ever, I was born in California. I have a friend who`s S.s. is from Wisconsin, and he was born in Northern California.

Really the story should go into everyone else who has a weird S.s. number.

umm that website is a right wing slanted sight...so why exactly are we suppose to take anything posted their as unbiased? sorry come back with a credible news agency and story and I will listen.

oh and SS numbers make little to no sense as it is. Mine has been used and reused by other people, mine actually said I lived in Arizona at one time and it took awhile to fix the mess.

    this is NOT NEWS

"Mine has been used and reused by other people"

sounds like identity fraud, not "a typical error", SS numbers aren`t reused, when I die, I die with this SS number, it won`t be reissued to someone else. also, the first 3 digits are finicky about the zip, my SS starts with XYZ while my wife (born across town) is ABC, my 2 daughters also have slightly different beginnings because we moved ~10 miles between their births

It is true that the website is right wing and biased, however that doesn`t mean that there is no validity to any of the claims. Even in fringe groups there is a grain of truth however well twisted it is left. If google is filtering some results that should be a considerable issue as they have taken stances against filtering and are widely trusted to bring whatever you ask in order based on set parameters of relevance and a few other potential factors.

Google "hiding" information? Does anyone actually understand how search engines work? How exactly does Google HIDE a particular news article? You would have to actually go into the search engine logarithms and alter them so that everything is kept exactly the same except for this ONE news source, which is near impossible to do.

It`s an obvious technical flaw. The words "President Obama" and "Social Security Number" are so common that it`s no wonder why it`s having trouble recognizing this story.

    -_- Friggin` biased people...

    @BigMordecai:
But World Net Daily isn`t just "right wing and biased." They routinely make things up out of whole cloth--they are the political equivalent of the Weekly World News. There is more likely to be actual facts behind an Onion article than there.

The "Google won`t cover us" is a (evidently not-so-) transparent SEO ploy to get links to their site. It seems to be working.

Apparently Google fixed the problem, Sort of, They now point to the story of the Governor of Hawaii signing a bill into law denying requests for Obama`s BC. A bill that I believe is unconstitutional due to the freedom of information act.

Either way, It is a bit weird that he has a Connecticut SS# issued in the years `77 to `79, When his first job was at a Baskin Robbins in Hawaii in `75 and he`s never lived or worked in Connecticut.

Again, I believe he leaves this issue up in the air to make the right look like nuts and that perception is politically advantageous to him and his party.

What about the papers he supposedly wrote for the Harvard law review ? What about all the backroom deals he`s doing ? He`s even continuing the secret wiretaps that all you `Hope and Change` people wanted to stop. Even the white house press corps is getting fed up with being spoon fed by Robert Gibbs.

See, I have no problem with conservatives disagreeing with the Obama`s policies. But when your best argument against him is "Well if he`s from here, where`s his birth certificate?!?!" "Here it is." "Oh... well it must be fake!!" "Not according to the hospital that wrote it" "Well... there`s something fishy there, I`m sure. The difference that keeps the story going is was his original certificate a birth certificate or a certificate of live birth, which is an entirely different thing. The one given by hawaii and shown in the media is not the original but a copy that anyone can get in Indiana by going to the health dept.

Google and Yahoo are both run by liberals, and they both manipulate their search results on political topics. I`ve seen it too many times. I haven`t used Bing much, but from what little I`ve seen, they do the same thing for the same reason.

I can`t tell you how many times I`ve searched for a 5- or 7-word phrase in quotes, and the FIRST occurrence of the exact quote doesn`t come up till the 3rd or 4th page of results.

What I need is an HONEST search engine. Any suggestions?

moefreak, do you realize that your source, factcheck.org is run by the Annenberg Foundation? Do you realize that this is the same Annenberg foundation that funded the Chicago Annenberg Challenge which was founded and run by Bill Ayers with the help of his good friend Barack Obama? Do you know that Ayers and Obama together gave out over $100 mil to leftist community organizers and radical education activists for the expressed purpose of turning Chicago public schools into communist indoctrination centers? Do you know that factcheck.org is nothing but a shill for Obama?

Oh, and don`t bother citing Snopes.com, either. That`s just a guy and his wife working out of their house, and they`re both liberal Democrat Obama shills, too.

If this were all a conspiracy, and somebody was smart enough to be fraudulent and become president of the USA, don`t you think they wouldn`t get themselves a SSN from the wrong state for the wrong year? I don`t know what the hell to believe, but someone like that would probably be a bit more careful. Not to mention they`d *know* the amount of scrutiny they`d be under. If they were going to be that sloppy, they wouldn`t try to be so high-profile that they end up getting caught...

5Cats, I`ll agree that perhaps going golfing wasn`t the most tactful way to spend the time. However, I will say that I would have had the exact same reaction if we were talking about Bush. They didn`t consider it safe to fly (just like many other world leaders, for example the French president, the German chancellor, Swedish king, Finnish president etc.), and that really isn`t a big deal.
Now please, if you genuinely have issues with the way that Obama runs the country, then by all means discuss them to your hearts content. However, whether he went golfing or went home is completely irrelevant.

moefreak, Politifact is no better than Factcheck. Just Google "factcheck liberal bias," and you`ll get over 17,000 hits. Apparently, a number of people have issues with their objectivity, or lack thereof. And the Pulitzer Prize committee is about as far left as you can get.

If you learn anything here today let it be this: there is no such thing as an unbiased news source. You have to read a number of sources from different viewpoints, and then you have to figure out what really must have happened for them to say or write what they did considering their biases.

Why would I google "factcheck liberal bias" when I want to find out about politifact? When I searched for politifact liberal bias, it only returned 6,000 results. That is a very insignificant amount, considering that when I searched for "banana mosquito clock hat" I got 152,000 results.

While I agree that no news source can be completely unbiased, I will argue that some are considerably more biased than others. And politifact is reasonably unbiased, at the very least to the extent that they wont just make stuff up.

And I would still like to know which sources you consider trustworthy.

Do you think I just imagined that from 2000 to 2004 Google executives and employees gave $463,500 to Democrats and only $5,000 to Republicans? Or that Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang has given $28,000 to Republicans and $209,441 to Democrats? Or that Microsoft executives and employees have given 3 times as much to Democrats as Republicans? These people don`t need to "conspire." They already all think alike.

    Goddammit!
Who the eff files tax records or pays into the SS for a part time 14 year old kid??!! What 14 year old files tax papers?
The first time I ever bothered to file was after I was married, 5 years into my first 8 adult employments.

Are conclusions of an investigator that failed to notice and take into account the reality that he was >>>14<<< really very sound?

Come to think of it, my own SS number starts with 377 (Michigan) when I was in D.C. when issued and lists a COMPLETELY UNKNOWN ASS-WIPE as one of my parents who >>wasn`t anywhere on the original form.<<

Seems to me that having no means to combat his typically center to RIGHT-WING standing, people have no choice but to attack his popularity.

moefreak, I trust Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, the Washington Times, Newsmax, etc., to give me the conservative perspective. I trust CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, AP, Time, Newsweek, the New York Times, the Washington Post, etc., to give me the liberal perspective.

If I want to know what someone said, I want to hear them say it, not trust someone else`s account of it. In general, the liberal news sources are much more dishonest about quotes. Time and time again they falsely attribute to conservatives things that they never said. Conservative news sources will more often play the liberals` quotes in their own words.

How may times have you heard liberals say that Rush Limbaugh said he wants the country to fail? Yet he never said that, nor did he say anything that could be construed that way by an honest person. He said, "I hope he (Obama) fails." He explained that he wants Obama to fail to implement his agenda so the country will succeed. Too bad that`s not working out.

Just a thought. I thought I`d have it on your behalf.

Besides, of COURSE Google Employees gave more to Democrats in 2000-2004. It`s based in Mountainview California. It is made up of young, university educated people.

Generally speaking, any one of those demographics votes 60% in favour of democrats, let alone all 3.

This doesn`t do jack towards making it a conspiracy. Now if you`re saying Google should specifically hire 70 year old Texans who flunked high school, maybe you`re missing the point of their hiring policies.

The world works a certain way. That way does not revolve around entertaining your conspiracy theories.

You lost me at "I trust Fox News".

But seriously, we weren`t even talking about quotes and misquoting right now. (Although Rush Limbaugh himself said that both liberals and conservatives misunderstood him). The point here is that you are denying the validity of all of the evidence for Obama`s birth certificate simply because you don`t trust any of the sources. So unless you can go over there and look at it yourself, I suppose you will stubbornly assume that what you prefer to be true must be true.

I took one look at the site when I clicked, and within 5 seconds could tell by both the links and the layout of the site that it is a sensationalist, propaganda page. I`ve been on many, including liberal ones, though they tend to use a blue color theme :)

P.S. Can people just shut the hell up about this already? It`s been proven time and again, he`s a U.S. citizen, and so far has done pretty damn good in a short period of time. Health care has finally been fixed without socializing it, quite cleverly too. Making us all get insurance through private companies is forced capitalism, even though the U.S. Is only capitalist through tradition, not law or doctrine, many of the founding fathers hated capitalism, Thomas Jefferson one of the main ones. Hamilton was a proponent, but he was also a monarchist, which says something... the economy is also in an a slow upswing and the bank debts, from what I`ve been told have been paid back. Win.

What it comes down to is, our government is and always has been corrupt. Whether the president was born in Middle America, USA, or Siberia, it doesn`t matter. They don`t care about us. Well, if everyone actually did disagree with me, you`d have a point. They don`t, and so, therefore, neither do you.

I won the point by proving my contention that Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft are strongly biased in favor of Democrats, and you now try to change the subject by arguing that that`s because they are so much smarter than all the ignorant knuckle-dragging conservatives. And you probably wonder why conservative think liberals are a bunch of arrogant pricks...

And regarding your insult about me entertaining conspiracy theories, if you had an attention span long enough to read all the way to the end of a four-sentence paragraph, you would have noticed that I wrote, "These people don`t need to `conspire.` They already all think alike."

If that sounds rough, you asked for it.

The point here is that you are denying the validity of all of the evidence for Obama`s birth certificate simply because you don`t trust any of the sources.
What evidence? The only evidence of Obama`s long-form birth certificate is the HI Health Dept. Director said they have it in their files; he will not release it without Obama`s permission or a court order; and he won`t disclose what it says.

Other than that, all you have is a scan of a Certification of Live Birth which was proven to have been issued years after Obama was born, and a bunch of liberal shills calling it a valid birth certificate.

You have decided to accept the existence of Obama`s birth certificate as a matter of faith without proof, and I have learned that it is a complete waste of time to argue matters of faith.

I saw a bumper sticker that said, "God said it. I believe it. That settles it." How are you any different from that guy?

But seriously, we weren`t even talking about quotes and misquoting right now.
Actually, we were talking about which news organizations you can trust. When a news outlet says a person said "abc," and I can watch a video of that person speaking in his own voice, and he said "xyz," I know that the news outlet was lying. And if they lie about something that can be easily verified with absolute certainty, like a quote, there`s no way I would trust them to tell the truth about something I can`t verify independently.

You can insult and smear Fox News all you want, but you can`t come up with instances where they have told outright lies in a news story. You can disagree with their opinion programs, but at least they tell you up front when it`s opinion. They don`t try to pass their opinions off as news and lie to promote a political agenda like they do in the left-wing media. Has Fox ever used forged documents to smear a candidate like CBS did?

OldOllie, the evidence that I`m talking about is admittedly second hand. I haven`t personally with my own eyes seen the birth certificate. However, and this is where that matter of trust comes in, I believe that when the BBC, MSNBC, and even your beloved Fox News are all telling me that it has been verified that he was born in the USA, I just have to trust that they have done the research.

You ARE kidding, aren`t you? Do you really need to be shown something like:
"Hundreds turn out to hear Sarah Palin speak at a book signing" which turned out to be footage her speaking while part of McCain`s campaign.

Back to the subject: The summed question from interviewee`s arguments is "Why is the dude`s SS from Connecticut when he was living is Oahu?"
They provide IDTheftSecurity.com`s "...I know Social Security numbers have been issued to people in states where they don`t live... I don`t know what that reason..."
That seems to kill the questions of one of the other 2 people.

"WND confirmed... Inserting the Social Security number... produces a valid Selective Service number..."
That seems to kill the other "expert`s" questions.

What kind of an ass-hole registers with Selective Service with a fake SS?

I was born in Detroit, in 1972.
My guardian lived in D.C, Van Ness in N.W., not Detroit. My SS is from 1978 not 1972, which is similar to his.

So, from there, I`m looking at the actions of 5 or so judges, including the guy that finalized the election results, that all say: "Yep, this dude is from Hawaii. Records accepted. *Bamb!* Next case..."

You`d think that, by now, if there was ever a real question, I don`t know, maybe the JUSTICE DEPARTMENT would already have looked into it?

I just have to trust that they have done the research.
So, you admit it; you`re no different from the guy with the bumper sticker. "The media said it. I believe it. That settles it." Except that no one in the media has seen Obama`s long-form birth certificate. When pressed, they all admit that they have only seen the same scan of the same Certification of Live Birth that Obama posted on his website. The only person who has seen it -- the HI Health Dept Dir. -- has refused to confirm that it actually says Obama was born in HI.

But that`s not important. What`s important about faith is that if works for you. If it makes you happy and comfortable to believe that Obama`s birth certificate says he was born in HI, then you go right on believing it. Never mind the fact that Obama has spent over $1 million in legal fees to prevent its release. Don`t let that upset your little world.

You mean the Justice Dept. run by Eric Holder -- the same Eric Holder that called the Arizona immigration law unconstitutional and threatened a lawsuit against the people of Arizona even though he admitted to a congressional committed that HE NEVER EVEN READ THE F***ING BILL even though it`s only 10 PAGES LONG? "Hundreds turn out to hear Sarah Palin speak at a book signing" which turned out to be footage her speaking while part of McCain`s campaign.
Really? That`s the worst thing you could come up with? Let`s see now, hundreds of people show up to see Sarah Palin at a book signing, and some schlub in the control room accidentally grabs a clip showing hundreds of people showing up to see Sarah Palin at a campaign event. And the nefarious intent there was...what? How did that convey anything other than the actual facts of the story?

Are you seriously comparing a completely inconsequential mistake to a deliberate pernicious fraud? Do you really think that`s equivalent to slandering a presidential candidate using forged documents in an attempt to throw an election? Or how about planting an incendiary device on a truck gas tank to create an explosion to show the truck is unsafe?

You haven`t quite gotten the knack of this reading thing, have you? I said they have the birth certificate, but I also said--and your quote confirms--that they will not tell us what it says! They will not confirm that it says Obama was born in Hawaii; they will only confirm that they have it. Also, that quote ought to tell you that the birth certificate of which they speak is a completely different document from the Certification of Live Birth, the scan of which Obama released on his web site and has been touted by liberal shills as being his birth certificate when it is no such thing.

Jeezus! My dad was right when he warned me, "Son, there are two things in this world that cannot be reasoned with: a liberal and a hardon."

    OldOllie, then riddle me this:

Why exactly would the health department of Hawaii have Obama`s birth certificate, had he not born there?

Furthermore, you realize of course that a certification of live birth still requires that the person has been born where it says they have been born. They will not give you a certification of live birth document that says "Born in Hawaii" if you were born in, say, Kenya.
