Yup i assume most people realise it isnt real to begin with but as it says on the front page of website "Olivier Charles creates his vision
of the Stockholm Public Library,
a virtual world of Architecture and CG Art.
The result is an EXPOSÉ 7
Master Award winning image
for Interior Architecture"

No, really? And there I was thinking that this site was owned by Gandalf and several pixies and that it was operated in accordance with the rules for AD&D.

Do you have any idea why you thought I was missing the extremely obvious?

The FCC isn`t a forum I post in.

Having said that, I don`t expect IAB to pay any more attention to me than the FCC would. I`m just passing time.

Note to IAB:

If you think the word is too offensive to use, don`t use it.

If you want to use it and don`t think it`s too offensive, use it.

Using it and missing a couple of letters of it out doesn`t make any sense at all.

Everyone falls into one of these three categories:

i) Person who knows the word. They can read it with the letters missing.

ii) Person who does not know the word. It would be equally meaningless to them if it was written in full.

iii) Person too stupid to fill in the missing letters. They wouldn`t be able to read anyway.

In every case, for every person, there is no difference between the word in full and the word with a couple of letters removed (or starred out, or whatever) in a context in which it is obvious what is being obscured.
whats F`ing epic?...surely youve mispelled it...

F u c k i n` epic is the correct spelling,

must try harder , B+
An apostrophe can be used as a marker for missing letters when the context makes those missing letters clear. "F`ing epic" will do as correct English.

It`s also stupid, pointless and self-contradictory because it`s being used to obscure a word and it can only work because it doesn`t obscure the word.
I think the USA Library of Congress has more books now.
You`re right, according to (for what it`s worth, Wikipedia). I stand corrected.

That source states that the British Library has 150 million items vs the Library of Congress` 130 million- but that includes newpaper reels, videos, audio recordings, maps, photographs etc etc. In terms of books, apparently the British Library has 25 million vs. the Library of Congress` 29 million.
Biggest in terms of physical size, yes. The British Library is the biggest in the world in terms of number of books.
I think the USA Library of Congress has more books now.

Although the USA Library of Congress is also the USA national archive, so maybe it should be compared with the UK national archive and the British library together, in which case it would be smaller on both size and content.

Let`s throw the Great Library of Alexandria into the importance argument. Much smaller (a million books) and it hasn`t existed for about 2000 years, but was it more important? I think it was.

Long enough to become a respected researcher in a relevant field, then they might allow you to view it at the library. You can`t be too careful with priceless ancient documents. There are miles of records going back ~800 years, but only one Beowulf.

This isn`t real, but there are libraries and archives that could fill it.

The UK national archive, for example, uses 104 miles of shelving.

No typo - over one hundred miles of books, scrolls, etc. Yeah, scrolls. The archive goes back a while.

It`s not the only large archive here, either. The British Library has about 15 million books and stuff, including the really important ones in secure controlled-environment vaults. The original written copy of Beowulf, for example. I`d love to see that. A thousand years ago someone sat down with parchment, ink and quill and wrote it...and it`s still there. How awesome is that?
