Imagining this baby being conceived is inconceivable.

A disturbing image indeed .

Since when does 6 ft 1 count as lanky? He isn`t even skinny. Looks pretty average to me.

Hhmm 6ft man 3ft woman. This reminds me a friend once told me about getting a stand and blow.

Why? Why? Why?

Why did she have to name him `Aidan?`

I agree with the comments on the article, they shouldn`t try to have another child. There were already too many risks with just their first son.

Nice work sourkrauter, don`t bother to read anything.
"She suffers from a rare bone disease which has left her measuring just 3ft 1in. But because the condition has left her unable to stand, Aidan already towers above her at 2ft 6in."
"She was born with 14 broken bones"

She`s not a midget; she has a disease.

I can`t believe they`re willing to consider having another child. Given the risks involved, it just seems stupid.

"how does a 2 foot child tower of a 3 foot adult?
3>2 is still true right?"

I think the article said something about how she can`t stand up, so I guess he`s taller than her sitting height.
Actually Angilion, if, say, two cousins have a baby with each other, and they both carry a recesive gene defect that runs in their family, then there`s a 25% chance that their child will be born with that defect. Which is quite good odds that you might not want to risk if the disorder is something as serious as Down syndrome.
In that case, the relationship or lack thereof between the two people is irrelevant. If two complete strangers from different parts of the world who don`t have any common ancestors in the last 50,000 years both carry a harmful recessive gene, there`s a 25% chance a child would have two copies of it and thus have it expressed.

Even if it was limited to cousins (and I stress that it isn`t), how would your post be a counter-argument to mine?

I`m surprised it`s even possible to have a normal sized baby when you have dwarfism. How did it not kill her?

So...back to the incest thing.

The rational reason why incest is usually considered very bad is because close inbreeding increases the chance of genetic defects resulting in severe problems for the children. It`s a genuine possibility.

It`s not as likely as the same thing happening every time this woman has a child.

So anyone who`s opposed to incest and thinks it should be illegal should, rationally, be opposed to this woman having children and think it should be illegal, even more so than with incest.

Is anyone going to step up and be consistent with themself?

There are actually dicks in the world bigger than her.

In cases like these you really have to question how they have sex.

Well good luck & God bless! Lets hope they quit at one though, that`s some nasty DNA to have floating in the gene-pool.
(ie: each child they have has about a 1/4 chance of getting Mom`s disorder, eh?)

Some woman are selfish..she had a lot of complications in this pregnancy and there is a strong possibility she`ll pass on her condition to their next child. She may also die if she gets pregnant again, leaving her current child motherless. Yet, she still wants another child.

Yeah, "towers" as long as the baby as standing while she is kneeling, or if the baby is on her lap.

She is tiny though. And he will tower over her soon enough.

I wouldn`t exactly say tower. That implies the baby is significantly taller. Their heights are at parity.

Not only the risks of childbirth to consider here. He`s 6`1" she`s 3`1" with brittle bones. She could have been dead at conception. Double fetish! Necrophillia and achondroplasiaphillia all in one.

@HOBYandy: The article says she can`t stand due to her condition, so he would tower her by standing up.

I agree, having another kid risks a lot of health issues, it would suck if she died during the second pregnancy, the kid wouldn`t grow up knowing his mom well..

Her height is 3`1". Her son towers over her at 2`6". I wouldn`t call that towering above her. I`d call that towering below her.

Maybe I`m just a jerk, but I think it`s a little selfish that they want to have another child considering the high risk of her dying or passing on her disorder to her second child. I mean, it`s great that she had one healthy child but it`s not fair to her husband and son to risk that again. Take what you have been lucky to get and be happy.

Quote from Fark comments of this article, for any of you sickos who were wondering:

I heard an interview with her husband last week on some on-line radio show. Apparently he`s a big guy. The DJ asked him how they had relations.

He said, "I lay on my back and she sits on me and I move her up and down." The DJ asked, "Isn`t that a lot like pleasuring yourself?" And the husband said, "Yeah, but at least I have someone to talk to."

It`s so selfish for them to want another kid. I have a disease which causes chronic pain and I will not be having children. I already know that the pain of seeing my child suffer would be unbearable when I could have prevented it. When it is likely the mother would die, it is even more unbelievable they would consider trying for another natural child. There are plenty of perfectly good adoptable kids out there who would LOVE to be theirs.
