Dudes... speaking as a guy who actually lives with a woman who menstruates once a month, the menstrual cup is not nearly as gross as the other options.

@deputy: Yes, but that still means that they have menustrated or will menustrate at some point in their life.

Use some common sense when reading and account for bad grammar or poor usage of words.

"but then I realized that half (or more) of the entire planet has them" does not mean that they have them at the same time or their entire life. It just mean that they have them.

@daisy: good, so you agree with me, but don`t read everything I write. I wrote girls start menstruating around their 13th year and it ends around their 45th. And about the spelling: It would be better if you educate the people that got their facts completely wrong. If I am writing a paper I will do a full spellcheck. Little blurbs like this, I don`t even proofread. I am just getting my point across

*uh I think its time they made these ads obviously funny. Everyone laughs anyway, I mean regardless if someone in a tampon/pad announces it right out loud we know they are supposed to be wearing said product. So why are all you little boys and girls so grossed out. Its not like she showed us her stiring or anything, now that would be a tampon add lol....

so come on people, haven`t you grown your short and curlies yet?*

Yeah the word "commercial" should be in there somewhere....throw that in where its needed....thanks!

I really wish Boadicea hadn`t commented. I have never been bothered about womens `cycles` but the thought of a sloughed uteral lining swilling about in a rubber cup stuffed up your chuff for 12 hours. That is making my stomach jump little. Errrp.....

@fabarati: learn your biology. Women menstruate from puberty till menopauze, so roughly from 13 till 45, so, yes, half of earth`s population is female, and no, they don`t all menstruate.
And I am not even counting the women that through different kind of diseases (anorexia for example) are physically unable to menstruate.

Dumb but honest. Most ads geared towards women are pretty damn retarded. Oh lets sing about birth control! Oh lets have another ad were some ladies sit around watching said commercial cause they like it. Really? No one likes f*cking commercials.

@deputy I think you need to redo your math. Where the hell did you get age in? Half or more of the planet = amout of women there are

@Boadicea: The idea of a menestrual cup honestly sounds less disgusting than a tampon or a pad. Keep preaching.

@boadicea: ehmm, half or more? so you have had periods since you were born, and have them still when you die at (hopefully)80?
I think you need to redo your math

Troll harder.

Thanks Freud, feel free to live as disgusting as you`d like. I fail to see how common hygiene is anything but normal practice. Not some cool trend to fit in.

allie22: Thanks. I used to be super uncomfortable and embarrassed about periods, but then I realized that half (or more) of the entire planet has them, so who gives a crap? Some people need to grow up.

Haha, girls are being dickier to another girl than the guys are, because they have to make fun of people that go against societal norms so that they, in turn, can feel better about following conventions.

@ Boadicea I don`t know why, but I am not grossed out by what you said. Periods are just a normal thing that happen to every women every month and I get that some people don`t want to ear about it, but really I don`t see what the big deal is, anyway you use a cup and it seems to be a good alternative to tampons, so good for you.

Uh no, it does not stink. It`s medical grade silicone. And for more TMI:

"Menstrual flow only begins to develop an odor when it begins to oxidize and break down from being exposed to air. Menstrual fluid on pads is exposed to air, so it does create an after odor. Tampons are not as bad since they are worn internally, but they can still create odor.

With The [cup], odor is not created because the flow is not exposed at all; consequently, it allows women to feel clean and secure."

So suck it.

12 hours? Really? You must stink something fierce.
I would never let something sit idle in my body for half a day...up in till this point I never knew such things existed..and I really wish I didn`t.

Okay... I`ve never paid attention to one tampon commercial.. other then seeing some active chick or some b*tch jumping on the bed...I really have no idea wth is going on..
If any commercial is obnoxious it`d be that extends guy..

kiersten: Yeah it is pretty gross, but it`s not really any more gross than letting the blood flow out and onto a glorified diaper in your gitch or shoving bleached cotton up there to soak up blood and marinate.

I was kind of iffy about it to begin with too, but seriously, it`s the best thing I own now. You don`t even think about your period with it since you leave it for like 12 hours, and if you`ve handled a tampon, you can deal with this.

But if it`s not your thing, that`s cool too. I`m just saying it`s made me not want to go on murderous rampages every month. Spreading the word and all.

Wow, Kotex are being so awesome for calling out and going against the norm of the obnoxious tampon commercial.

Like this one.

Or, this one!

Hey, wait a minute!

Yeah, tampon commercials are obnoxious, because YOU MADE THEM THAT WAY. What a lack of respect for the consumer. The sad thing is they get away with it.

I appreciate what they`re trying to do (..I guess), but they`re only trying to be `witty` to sell you poo, which is lame. It`s as bad as Dove`s bullpoo marketing campaigns.

drat tampons, and drat pads. Go get a goddamn menstrual cup: you pay like 40 bucks ONCE, and you`re set for a decade. No garbage, no bleached cotton, no blowing money every drating month. TRUST ME.

I gotta admit, these are more entertaining than those other tampon comercials. My wife is always throwing poo at the tv when they tell her to have "A Happy Period" She says the only "happy period" ends in endless questioning by police detectives.

I love that the new line is called ubykotex and pronounced "You Buy Kotex". I realize it`s SUPPOSED to be "You, by Kotex", but, I`m hearing it the first way. Which undermines the whole campaign for me.
