Update: Earlier this week, this driver was called a racist for his truck mural and license plate. He has another story.

The mural is nothing more than an oversized bumper sticker, I don`t agree with his sentiments but I also take exception to everyone else telling him he doesn`t have a right to his. Mind your own business people and stop being pussies that get so damn offended about every little thing. Soon this whole country will be so locked down with rules and laws, we might as well be living in North Korea. So what if your feelings get hurt reading something...don`t read it or post your own opinion somewhere!

In the immortal words of George Carlin...

I feel for instance I have the right to do anything I please. BUT, if I do something you don`t like, I think you have the right to kill me.

So where are you gonna find a fairer dratin` deal than that?

So the next time some non-nice individual says to you, "I have a right to my opinion", you say, "Oh yeah? Well I have a right to my opinion, and my opinion is you have no right to your opinion." Then shoot the drat and walk away.

this whole issue highlights the tension that exists in the background about terrorism and stereotypes. there are groups of people who generalize people from the middle east as terrorists who wish to assault all the "values" that we hold dear, such as freedom. but what i would like to know is does the value of freedom include the freedom to practice whatever religion, and forms of government others want? and if you want to talk about the consent of the people and human rights, just look at the United States: Guantanamo, corrupt government officials, bloated capitalism, corrupt corporations, prostitution of American values, KKK, white supremacy, blah blah blah... maybe everybody should just sit down and think about what we`re doing and what the ramifications of our actions are for once.

I`m curious now: Exactly when did a Hindu or Buddhist commit a religiously motivated act of aggression? (I`m not saying they didn`t, I`d just like links.)

There are also numerous human rights issues in the Islamic world. You can say that this is just a small percentage of muslims, or it is just a cultural thing, but whenever it happens, I never hear other muslims speak out against it or rise up in protest against it.

I`ve been reading a lot that terrorist acts, more often than not, are inspired by political differences and simply done under the guise of religion. I know not all muslims are bad, but the only other religion that I can think of that takes their beliefs nearly as seriously is christianity.

However, the values in Islam and Sharia law are at odds with much of what I value in our constitution, and almost everything in our bill of rights. Freedom of religion, speech, press, and assembly, suffrage, and the right to a fair and speedy trial are not values expressed in the Koran, and I have never spoken to a muslim who did not express a desire to apply Islam to everything in their life.

Also, the bible gives a lot of examples of how someone should be killed for such and such act, but they do not cut of people`s hands, heads, arms, legs, or stone women to death when the woman is raped.

haha im laughing at all of the people trying to defend this guy by saying that muslims have "death to america" meetings. they make it sound as if all 7 million of us (i believe thats how many muslims there are in the USA) send emails to each other saying "hey guys, just a reminder, we have a meeting at achmeds place this friday. dont forget the C4" have any of you guys ever spent time with a muslim, or even went to a mosque? have you guys ever seen muslims other than on the TV with the propoganda they show? if not i really do suggest you do. I think you`ll realize that we aren`t that much different from anyone else. Islam is so close to Judaism, you just gotta do some research.
You cant generalize the whole religion based on the action of a few people. im sure that if you wanted to play that game, christians and Jews and hindus and any other religion could be called terrorists too.

He has the right to put it on his truck. His employers have the right to decide who gets to park on their private property. No rights were violated - he chose to remove the mural in order to keep his parking space.

Perhaps it`s you who needs to brush up on the law.

"...based on one person would be entirely ignorant..."
While I believe the guy had a right to his truck because it made no threat, I also point out that idiots tend to mark themselves. Now his markings have been removed.

If you are looking for a jerk, they are easier to find when they have a nice, big sign that says "I`m right effing here!!!"

See. Clearly marked = no parole.

Agreed completely,I think this country has gone too far with PC, people need to grow a pair and realize that everyone has their own opinion that they are entitled to because of the first amendment. If you disagree with him then do it! But you shouldn`t make him change his beliefs or at least suppress them just because you disagree!

I think the message is a little complex and can be interpreted in many different ways, I guess it`s however you wish to interpret it (and no I do NOT agree with it.) I can see his reasoning for the plate numbers and the confederate flag, look I`m from the south and I don`t have any confederate flags but I do see them everyday and if you were from the south you would know what it means and that it really is a symbol of southern heritage and not racism. I don`t think its right though that they made him remove it, there is such a thing as freedom of speech. You can feel free to respond I`m not looking for a debate. And also the confederate flag is viewed negatively everywhere but the south because it is a cultural thing here, it is NOT a symbol of racism it is a "southern thang" and I don`t expect you to understand unless your from here.

Well, he does have Freedom of Speech, because he lives in America. But one thing that my Father taught me was that Freedom of Speech does not mean Freedom to be a douche. I think that removing his license plate was a bit too much, but getting rid of the mural was a good thing to do. The thing is, however, he shouldn`t NEED to. He should have been asked, not told, to remove that stuff from his car, because it was his choice to express his opinion. Now in my opinion, he was being a jerk by having that on his truck, but a jerk who was only expressing his opinion.

@ Kryptonite funny thig is i dont disagree with you i believe america started this war it is my belief that the U.S. government was behind 9/11 just so we could go over there, not saying the U.S. did it just my belief that the government knows more that what was released however with these islams in the U.S. having meetings saying "Death to U.S." that is their opinions and I for one didnt bitch about it because that was their freedom to do so When IAM is posting what i view as anti christian things i dont bitch about it. but its like someone said here South Park ,e.g. is not allowed to poke fun at islam but it can anything else and no one cares? WTF is wrong with that??? Freedom of speach is just that the supossed freedom to voice your own opinions however this man is not allowed to have his license plate because someone found it offencive well i bet that someone can find offence with everything in the world even your screen name someone could be

@mandingo and who ever else says this is a violation of your right of free speech:
So, you`re right of free speech is more important than the right to practice religion?
And seriously read a history book before criticizing Islam. The US started this whole war way back when. You complain about the few bombs dropped on your land, but what about the thousands that the US have dropped all over the world in the past 70 years. I would personally have keyed the tailgate of that truck if i saw it.

He has the freedom to say what ever he likes, as long as he doesnt impede other peoples freedom. No one made him remove it. His employer just used their freedom to tell him he is no longer allowed to park in the lot with that on his truck while he had that on his truck. It is completely disrespectful.

If his truck had said "everything i need to know about America I learned at 8:16 a.m. on August 6, 1945" would you disagree with that? I know I would.

Honestly, one thing I`ve never understood is... What`s the point in "celebrating your southern heritage" with a confederate flag?

They lost. They lost, in part, because of some serious stupidity on the part of some confederate commanders.

It especially bothers me when the people display them in places that were NEVER confederate, or they don`t even have confederate origins (as in the case of my uncle, who thinks he`s soo redneck).

[/rant]

That aside...

Okay, so he`s not a neo-nazi extremist.
