FYI. V:tM LARPing, is NOT Twilight LARPing.

It has been around since 1991, almost 15 years before Twilight (2005), and it is genuinely pretty awesome.

Pick up a copy of "World of Darkness" for the Tabletop game, or at least check out "Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines" videogame.

LARPers at a convention I attended used rock-paper-scissors to determine battle outcomes. It was kinda funny really :)

Ok, why does everyone think vampires move like that? Throwing their heads around, making those stupid faces, being way too dramatic. I see it in movies too. Is it some unwritten vampire rule or am I just missing something?

    You know what sucks? Larping.

They can do what they want, doesn`t mean they don`t suck.

Pulled from the zombie larp site.

"Even girls - actual live girls with soft bits and everything - would play, and enjoy themselves."

This is simultaneously the most pathetic and hilarious thing I`ve ever read.

I feel the need to point out that since vampires aren`t real, they can be made to move however the individual feels appropriate...

LARP has two basic camps. SCA side which tends to be more physical with their stuff (including SCA, Amtgard, etc.) and the DnD camp, which is more by the number and still more based on dice roll than actual combat. SCA side can actually be pretty awesome, when you think about it. a two hour long battle with realistically weighted weapons can be a gooood workout.

It forgot WWII,Vietnam,Revolutionary war, and Civil war Larps. Yes they do exist. And im not just talking about battle re enactments which is essiantilly the same thing.

And can some one explain to me how Zombie role playing is supposed to be played? Is it just a game of tag where if you get touched you become a zombie and join others in walking slow, groaning and saying "braaaiiins!"?

"If you think this is mostly a pastime for guys, don`t forget about the inexplicable popularity of "Twilight." Man, girls just love that awful movie and the awful book on which it was based.
And in that spirit there`s now an awful LARP as well."

...I know these ignorant idiots did NOT just confuse Mind`s Eye Theater and Twilight! Ok, I know taking it a little too personally, but I like the World Of Darkness games (which have been out since waaaay before Twilight, like the late 70`s or 80`s), and to even lump them in the same article should be a sin worthy of death, or at least public humiliation by having rotten fruit thrown at them while being flogged naked in front of their high school crushes that wouldn`t give them the time of day...
Enough of that, sorry everyone =(
