Simple deduction... I couldn`t actually remember which was correct but more than half are looking right, so that`s probably right. More have "In spaghetti monster we trust" so that`s probably there too.. You get the idea.

But like Joolin said, why does it matter? Who counterfeits pennies anyways?

Meh, I`m Canadian, so I don`t feel too bad about that.

First off, DavidXJ, yes. Yes it is wrong. Second off, the only way this knowledge could come in handy would be determining a counterfeit penny from a real one. If you`re trying to determine if a penny is counterfeit, you probably have bigger fish to fry.

Is it wrong to feel infinitely superior for choosing the correct one on the first try?

davymid: Thanks for the offer, But I stopped collecting after the fire. Realized all the stuff I had collected was weighing me down like an anchor.

Nice thoughtfulness though. :-)

@abby0315

Well, that`s good. I`d hate to think you`d keep searching after failing the first time and being given the answer =)

Anyway, I was so close! I had the right penny but had the date and the Liberty backwards...but that`s okay, I`m Canadian? =D

This is just kinda sad, I first thought about it. Then I was searching for the penny on my desk. AND THEN, I started to reduce the number of possible answers via common knowledge. Guess this means most people don`t have it?

Crakr, I have a bunch of coins from Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Oman, Iran, Bahrain, and beyond. I`d be glad to send them on to you for your collection if you trust me enough to email me your address. My email`s in my profile.

Glad to have them go to a good home where they`re appreciated. Jus` sayin`.

If you got it wrong, you`ll probably get stuck with a counterfeit penny some day, and then you`ll REALLY be sorry!

ROFL at all the Yanks who don`t know their own coins... I tried it on 6 people so far here in Aus, and 5 of them got it right despite it being Yank coins.

The one who got it wrong? My missus, who`s from Hawaii.

Crucible: Curse your Canadian coinage, They`ve intentionally made it look close to USA`a. It`s deceptive and I hate getting fooled into taking one in change.

I got it right and I`m norwegian. I used simple logic though. I looked at all of them and picked the one who had the most in common with the others.
For example: eight of them had "in god we trust" on top, as opposed to two who had "united states of america" and two who were blank. So I knew that "in god we trust" had to be right. Same procedure with all other features.

the one i selected was the same as the correct one but the date and liberty were the wrong way round, tried to narrow it down with logic like alot of people commenting here did (seeing as im not american) so i dont think i did too bad

now time for the english penny and euro denomination! (though i dont know what that looks like either!)
