Why do people keep bringing up Bush?

WE KNOW HE SUCKED! WE KNEW BEFORE YOU DID!

Hold your man accountable! I crack on Obama and I VOTED FOR HIM! It`s OKAY TO DO THAT!

What`s not okay, is to WHINE if you didn`t VOTE AT ALL!

Obama is making HORRIBLE MISTAKES! His advisors are steering him wrong, and we are all suffering for it. His decisions are made based on direction from lobbyists like ACORN, and SEIU.

Please leave Bush out of this. It makes you look like little kids. "Oh yeah wear your president wears combat boots! Nanny nanny boo-boo!" You can say bad things about Obama. He won`t hunt you down and kill you. I know you all think he is a God, but don`t worry.

I love how so many idiots think that these problems can be solved overnight.
I`ve got news for you; America will never be a `perfect` country, or even come close. Even if, years from now, you manage to fix your problems, there are still blind fools who see politics in black and white.

Passed Healthcare Reform (ending preexisting conditions, giving small business subsidies for providing insurance, Creating 3.2M HC-related jobs over the next 10 years, closing the medicare donut hole in drug coverage, ensuring coverage for all kids up till the age of 26, covering 32 million americans, expanding medicaid to cover the rest, all while cutting the national debt by a 100 billion dollars) - Check. AN UNCONSTITUTIONAL DOCUMENT WITH MORE EARMARKS THAN ANY FEDERAL BILL IN HISTORY.

Signed into law Tax Cuts for all middle income families, and 95% of all Americans - Check DID YOU KNOW 90% OF ALL AMERICANS THAT MAKE LESS THAN 95,000 YEAR DON`T PAY FEDERAL INCOME TAXES? BUSH DID THAT. IT`S DUMB! WE ARE IN A DEFICIT! WE NEED TAXES!

Signed an Arms control agreement with Russia to dismantle nuclear weapons - Check THAT THEY WON`T HONOR, BECAUSE THEY DON`T KNOW WHERE MOST OF THEIR NUKES ARE!

I present to you that all politicians are corrupt or if not (pffft hahaha) they will never change anything truly important. Spending time ragging on any one group, or worse, one person is a waste of time, air, and precious brain cells.

@KannaLilly: It was pretty close... Prior to FDR and the progressive era. These problems... well most of them are not problems. Such a global warming, a huge lie. Health care, was not even close to as much of a problem as it is made out to be.

Back to health care folks. Are you IABers aware that 62% of Americans want the GOP to continue fighting the health care bill? Are you aware 55% of Americans want the bill repealed??

@Jadavid: Except the GOP does not bash gays. They simply do not think that they should have the right to marry. Clearly a 3 party system does not work. Ever since about 10 years after the ratification of the constitution we have had a 2 party system. Whether it was Federalist and anti-Federalist or Republicans and Federalists.

@auburnjunky: Having been a former republican and bush supporter, that is blatantly untrue. The patriot act is a blatant breach of the bill of rights.

The Tea Party cannot survive if it stays its own party, it must join with the GOP otherwise the voters will just be split between two parties with similar ideals.

"Last time I checked the supporters of health care reform were in the minority."

I didn`t know this country was run on biased polls. I wonder how many of those who oppose it also think it contains "death panels" and actually understand what "socialism" is.

Last time I checked Democrats were the majority in Congress, and the majority of citizens voted for Democrats in the last election. Thats the kind of poll that matters.

Republicans are whiney babies because they lost fair and square - what with not winning the last election - but they cry and moan and stomp their feet and proclaim - JUST LIKE YOU DID BY CITING POLLS OF MISINFORMED AMERICANS - they somehow the minority party speaks for the majority.

Sorry, America isn`t run on polls. Its run by leaders who have conviction to do what they think is right, regardless of how much misinformation the GOP has used to convince people healthcare reform will kill grandma.

When Republicans passed MASSIVE tax cuts that increased the deficit, did Democrats throw up their hands and say "WAAAAAH! Thats not fair! We`re not going to cooperate at all!"

No, because like grown ups, you win some, you lose some, but you get back to work.

The GOP feels that only it is fit to govern, and if they are not in power, they cross their arms, stomp their feet, scratch their heads in disbelief that the majority of americans did not vote for them last time, and they vote NO NO NO..

Wait for the ads - EVERY SINGLE GOP CONGRESS PERSON VOTED IN SUPPORT OF ALLOW INSURANCE COMPANIES TO CANCEL INSURANCE FOR CHILDREN WITH CANCER. Every - single - one of them.

    @ZNaught

They are babies because of how they`re acting. They didn`t get their way so they scream and they shout and they refuse to co-operate on any issue and they oppose anything Obama supports even if they came up with the idea first and they`re hypocritically criticising the stimulus package while simultaneously accepting all praise for its good work in their own states and they`re spewing out blatant lies about nazi death panels so their gullible and idiotic supporters will go out protesting and all they`re really doing is trying to undermine Obama enough so that they can win the next election. They don`t care about america, they don`t care about you and they don`t care about me, they just care about winning the next election, and they`re willing to hold the entire country back from any form of progress if it means Obama will get the blame.

Also, insurance companies should not have the right to drop people due to illness. They however SHOULD have the right to raise premiums based on your individual health. HEALTH INSURANCE is a PRODUCT. It is NOT A RIGHT! If you deregulate it, the prices will fall due to competition, and coverages will expand.

Basically, goaliejerry, we will never see eye to eye on this, so it is worthless for us to debate to each other.

You prefer that our government give us everything and that the U.S.A. exists as a nanny state, making sure everyone has a piece of the pie regardless if they work for it or not.

I prefer that my government exists to uphold my rights as an American Citizen who pursues LIBERTY and MAKES HIS OWN WAY. I may fail, or I may succeed. Either way is MY OWN DOING and I AM RESPONSIBLE.

This is called a strawman argument, as it is so falicious its easy to strike it down.

technology went up, jobs went down, productivity went up,
if you want more jobs, we have to reduce technology, this in turn will raise prices to pay for those jobs

also, the problem with the debt started with the idiots in treasury that think money will always be there, even though money is actually just a measurement

I hope in 2012 we can get a president that is going to reduce our debt, becouse obama keeps raising it high and higher

And while Democrats did complain about the Bush election, what we DIDN`T do is just refuse to engage at all. We didn`t say "Hey, here`s a great idea for our country. Lets cripple the executive branch for four years so our party can win."

Heres a fact - the Republicans have filibustered more times in the last two years than it was used in the last 20.

THE GOP DOESN`T CARE ABOUT AMERICA - IT CARES ABOUT WINNING.

Example - this has happened repeatedly - the GOP will filibuster something, something they don`t actually disagree with. They filibuster, delay, stall, waste the government`s time, and when it comes up for vote - IT WILL PASS UNANIMOUSLY.

Think about that - THEY FILIBUSTER EVEN WHEN THEY SUPPORT THE BILL. Just to cripple the president. Now hows that for loving your country?

Democrats aren`t "giving us everything," they are simply saying "look people, you`re going to get sick. If you refuse to buy your own health insurance, the rest of us responible people pick up your tab. SO PAY FOR YOUR OWN INSURANCE.

Poor people already get Medicaid. But the working poor get NO assistance at all, so there is a perverse incentive to stay unemployed. So now the working poor will get health insurance too.

I agree Auburn, we don`t see eye to eye. But I respect your views and will try not to blatently mischaracterize your positions.

ohh can anyone also tell me why the drat does the Federal Reserve have toxic loans from banks,
it should only have Discount Loans and Government Securities to power it,

and we need another president like early FDR not late douchebag FDR
We need a president that will get advisers that he doesn`t agree with and some he does and a drating conservative Treasury that is more concerned with the Growing debt that Obama increased more

    Goverment Jobs wont help america
We need more tax payers to help pay taxes
goverment jobs work like this with taxes
and no im not going to do do all the math to figure out the correct number this is called a EXAMPLE
    government worker-
    pay $1000
    tax $100
goverment still loses 900 dollars in taxes
$900*(71000 IRS workers + 86000 census workers) = $141,300,000 that the non-goverment working class is paying
    and again Example

Auburn - "socialism" is when the government takes over the means of production.

How is requiring citizens to buy private insurance, which will be used to pay for medical care at privately run medical centers, socialism?

Whats amazing to me is how much the GOP LOVES INSURANCE COMPANIES.

They scream "don`t let government get between me and my doctor," seemingly ignorant of the FACT that private health insurance companies CAN TELL YOU WHICH DOCTORS YOU CAN AND CAN`T SEE!

They seem to ignore the FACT that private health insurance companies DROP YOU WITHOUT CAUSE.

They get IRATE when the government has the GAUL to REGULATE INSURANCE COMPANIES and not allow them to deny coverage to people.

Its a simple fact that when you get down to it, THE GOP HAS TO ADMIT THAT IT IS OK WITH POOR PEOPLE DYING DUE TO LACK OF HEALTHCARE.

That is there platform - "freedom" to them means that the unfortunate will die.

Goaliejerry: When this law is put into practice, it`s already been said that the insurance companies will not be able to sustain operation taking on so many new customers without the ability to pay. The US Govt. won`t have the money to subsidize them fully, so they will go bankrupt.

Once this happens, the only option that will be left is, Govt. run health care. Govt. taking over the means of production.

It`s called a back door. Giving us something "good", but hiding the true purpose.

    Yes goaliejerry. Iraq.

WTC started a war on TERRORISM. Sadaam Hussein is a known terrorist sympathizer, and he committed acts of terrorism on his own people. He deserved to go down.

Americans were wholeheartedly in support of the war at first, but the media (mostly MSNBC and ABC News) painted such a bad picture of the effort, and they flooded the TV with bogus bad reporting and doomsday scenarios, that public opinioned waned. There is still more support for our efforts in Iraq today, than there is support for the health care law in the general public.

It`s unfortunate that our political system has degraded into this. Over 200 years ago this was thought to be the best system in the world. It was supposed to be a system where the best and brightest were able to exchange their ideas and beliefs to better the country. Now it seems we are only able to talk about what mistakes the other side has done.

While the Democrats may have ideas that the Republicans disagree with it is unfortunate to see half of our political system run on the platform of "No". There is no exchange of ideas because the Republicans seem not to have any. Hopefully they`ll change that and actually offer a legitimate opposition to the Democrats.

The situation is very similar to the platform the Democrats ran on in 2004. Disappointing that they thought the country was going down the crapper, but they offered no legitimate ideas on how to counter it. Not only does it harm the political party, but it hurts the entire political process.

The USA spends $607 Billion per year on our military - 4.8% of GDP.

China spends $84 Billion per year on its military, at around 15% of their GDP (real numbers aren`t released by China).

The USA ALONE accounts for 41.7% of all funds spent on military spending IN THE WORLD.

And that is a subtle pro-healthcare reform point. If you don`t work, you get medicaid. If you work a low paying job, there comes a time where you make too much to get medicaid, but not enough to afford health-insurance. So what do you do? You have an incentive to just stay unemployed.

With healthcare reform, that obstacle is removed, since everyone will have at least basic coverage.

Also, why REQUIRE it? Am I a car? I have insurance that I pay for, but it`s cheaper to not have insurance and pay the fine every year.

Let me add this - I WAS CRAZY ANTI-BUSH.

I`ve grown since then, and on some weird level I know EXACTLY where the anti-Obama people are coming from.

Democrats said the world would end with Bush in charge, and our country was doomed, "we want our country back!" etc., etc.

But that didn`t happen, and all the hysterics about Obama today just won`t pan out how his opponents believe.

@goaliejerry: No, socialism is when the government takes over any private industry or corporation. Health care is socialism because the government is putting insurance companies out of business and will later need to step in "because they are too big to fail!" and buy them up.

Freedom means I am not FORCED to help others if I do not want to. I am all for helping the poor and do so often, however when I am FORCED to do so, it is crossing the line and removing my freedom. Health care costs could be brought down by other means and health care can be made more available by the private sector through charities.

Medicare and Medicaid are awful programs. They are simply entitlement programs that are also unconstitutional.

We cannot beat the chinese by socialism, that is just one step closer to become the chinese. The only way we can defeat them is through smaller government, less taxes, less regulation. This will attract businesses and we will become a producing instead of consuming nation.

Remember when Clinton tried to limit Welfare and Medicaid to 2 years total over a lifetime. His liberal buddies who controlled the house at that time squished that one.

Sounded like a good idea to me.

@auburnjunky: Hard to impeach when the democrats have the majority.

@_Perfection_: The federalist party were not strict constitutionalists. Both bills expired thankfully. May I cite the virginia and kentucky resolves? Exactly what is happening today (but to a lesser extent) in 15 states.

How are those programs constitutional? I find nothing saying that "anyone over the age of 65 is entitled by certain rights to health care". The document is one that gives certain powers, if you cannot find that power in the constitution it is simply unconstitutional.

@auburnjunky: I am a libertarian. I think these problems can either be solved by state governments or the private sector. Not the federal government. You either support the constitution or you do not.

"To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof."

    That makes it constitutional.

Or at least it wasn`t publicized much or at all.
BING! BING! BING! You are correct! The MSM has been active in pushing this Dem polciy AND silent over any justified criticism of it. More that "just biased" they are shilling one political party`s message.
Thus loonatics who oppose this administartion get airtime, legitimate concerns? Nada.
That, BTW is why this video is funny LazyMe... it`s a parody of the media`s fervent support for all things Obama, Reed and Pelosi.

All the federal government is there for is to help the states govern. They aren`t supposed to mandate anything really. National security, yes, but that`s often interpreted as 1,000,000 different things.

@_Perfection_: How does health care have anything to do with what the congress is able to do in Article 1 section 8?

@Aurigae Retarded eh? That`s a very NON-PC word to use. I guess you Obama supporters think it`s OK to slam the disabled, just like Barak himself did.

    @Aurigae

STFU what do you know about this? The effing libs are going to bankrupt this country. Our great `savior of the world` is a nutcase. He`s deluded more people outside of the U.S. than you think. Obviously, you are one of them. Retard.

More reasons as to why I choose to be neutral, and not care.
Both sides will use anything to slam the other, just to gain the upper hand, more supporters, etc.
Now That`s What I Call Retarded.

Free health care is the poo man. The only issue is that the politicians end up not paying the staff enough cash because they`re too busy spending it or giving it to banks.
