I want to know if he got the spear gun back, what if there`s an octopus roaming the seas, armed with a sharp projectile?

Then we`re all f*cked

Sweet, I`m glad his first response wasn`t to kill it. I`m no tree-hugging hippy, but I think those two creatures just had a moment.

"the humbling experience"

I think he is refering to the fact that it shows the intelligence/agitility etc. of other creatures in relation to us. As most people seem to view us as top dog...

Loved this vid. As a kid, I had an octopus who resided in a 250gal tank that my father had built into a wall of our house. Damned thing was so curious, we`d frequently find items pilfered off a nearby shelf at the bottom of the tank.

Nicely made vid with good footage. But its dangerous to fight an octopus, they can rip face masks and hoses of your wet suit like hoods stripping a car and then laugh at your crappy vacation photos from the camera they jacked.

Octopuses (yes the plural of octopus is octopuses, but only when referring to multiple species) now even have been documented using tools. There`s a video of an octopus somewhere using a coconut as part of a shelter.
