Sonic is auditioning with other companies since this whole `SEGA` thing just isn`t working out.
Yeah, it was great at first and sometimes it seems to be getting better but then it always ends up going downhill.
"I just can`t get along with my coworkers. Sure, the Prower kid is O.K and Knuckles has become a staple of weekends off but the others...
They just don`t seem to be all there, Most of them are extremely annoying or are just plain stupid.
Vector is retarded, Rouge is so uptight, Ivo never talks to anyone and Shadow is just drunk all the time."
Needles to say, Sonic has been hard at work looking for a new company to work for, But there don`t seem to be many in need of the services of a blue talking hedgehog.

Not entirely uncommon. As many commenters have previously said, cigarette shaped candy used to exist in places like the U.S. before getting the ban hammer. Though I`m surprised there is a recyclable icon on it...kids will start chucking real cigs in the the waste basket before long (can you say big fire?)

Just remembered: The US recently banned flavored tobacco products, also.
No candy cigarettes.
No cigarettes that taste like candy.

Looking at this, it reminds me of the time of Pop-Rocks and flavored wax.

I wonder if they taste any better than the chalky crap ones we have over here.

Yes, HAVE. They didn`t get rid them them completely. They`re just not allowed to be marketed with ACTUAL company names anymore.

Or in major chain stores.

i find it pathetic that cigarette companies use logos that children can connect to (such as sonic) to encourage them to smoke. its like the only value they have left is money

We have candy cigs in the UK.

We also have joke cigs that when you blow into them `smoke` comes out.

And I call China on this one, not Japan.

"Candy cigs when *I* was a kid were called "Fags"."

I don`t know the whole etymology but, I do know the referring to cigarettes as "fags" was a US thing in the 20`s meaning "before `fag` was used as a derogatory for `homosexual male so feminine that he carries a purse,` it meant `cigarette.`"
The word resurfaced with the meaning `cigarette` in Europe, in particular, Ireland, some time in the late 60`s, which is probably part of how the candy you knew came to be.

Candy cigs when *I* was a kid were called "Fags". When the gay lobby gained momentum, the "Fags" were banned, so the company spent a few hundred thou on recalling stock, a new name and a new packaging - only to have them totally banned a few months later because the anti-smoking lobby was also gaining momentum.

Some days it just ain`t worth getting out of bed.

I remember a similar candy when I was young called, no joke, "Fags". Which is also a slang term for cigarettes in Oz. They had to change their name to "Fads"...

100% what though? All natural ingredients perhaps? But then the Japanese have a very different idea as to what count`s as natural...

Have you seen SuperSize Me? At some point a guy who sued the Cigarrette Corporations explains that those candy cigarttes do JUST that. The kids who buy them start holding them as they`ve seen adults do and when they finnaly grow up, they see cigarettes as something friendly!

anti Asian?? give me a break, there is nothing bad being said about Asians, the product comes from Asia. It`s people like you that just jump to a conclusion without actually seeing what is going on or being said.
With that said. It is a little odd that candy cigarettes look so real, but I grew up with the candy cigarettes, and the gum cigars. Big deal. Kids are people are gonna smoke because they want to not because they ate candy cigarettes when they were younger.

gum cigs ruled! the puff was great. Funny, I ate those as a kid, yet had desire to smoke. maybe cause of the middle-aged lady next door with the emphysema that smoked three packs of pall mall a day, and her husband who was on oxygen and held the ciggy up to the trachyotomy hole in his neck!
