That would`ve been WAY better had they used a choker collar instead of a stupid harness. What fun is that?

I still say picking off feral cats at dusk is way more fun.

Cat looked drugged. My cat loves going on walks around the house (she`s scared of the street). Gets all excited and runs to the back door when we get her leash out. Also plays fetch. Cat/dog hybrids are cool.

This looks funny, but it`s not. I actually did a lot of research on harness/leash training cats awhile ago because I was interested in walking my cat so she would be able to enjoy the outdoors without getting into trouble. You have to spend weeks even months to get your cat comfortable in being in the harness and then graduate to leash before attempting to take it outside. You should never force the cat, it won`t be a good experience if you do. They need a lot of reassurance.
My cat was too scared and so I gave up on it. This cat is obviously uncomfortable and frightened and these people shouldn`t have cats if they can`t see that.

I don`t find this abuse, but hey...The concept of abuse differs. I think abuse is starving a cat, beating it, trying to kill it, ignoring it...This is just plain silly. The cat isn`t trying to get away and just keeps flopping over like a lazy cat does. It`s not hurting it, it`s just a lazy cat.

Dogs acctually love their owners. Cats just treat them like a food source!

Dont belive me..start feeding the neighbours cat and see how long it takes for it to move itself in!

You dont see a dog bailing on its owner just bacause the neighbour gave it a steak treat!

I successfully managed to walk my cat on a leash, even if it only around our huge front yard.. but eventually he started going out on his own.. and he ended up being a much much happier cat!!
plus that lady was hurting her cat by dragging him on the leash like that.. it might give you a bit of a giggle, but you could hear the cat whimper.. so cruel.

I know it seems harmless, but a lot of bad things can happen here. Suppose the cat scratches its paws/pads up, it can get an infection which could be very dangerous.

Cats can be trained to walk on leashes, but they shouldn`t be dragged.

its pretty obvious these people never trained their cat to use a leash. Unlike dogs, you actually have to train a cat to get used to leashes.

Ok, I`m usually the first person to call something cruel if it is, but come on guys - this isn`t cruelty. They looked like they bought the harness to see if it would walk with it - clearly it didn`t want to, but I doubt she`s going to drag it round the park like that. Lighten up.

    "How very cruel! Stupid idiots."

Dumb troll, cats need time to get used to the leash. It`s not cruel to leash train their cat. My dad taught his cat to walk on a leash. This way the kitty can see more of the world then the window.

You should see puppies when you try to leash train them. They flop and jump and shake their head. You morons that declare anything that makes an animal or kid displeased (OMG you put your kid in time out! You`re cruel!) need a good solid punch in the face.

It`s not anymore cruel than walking a dog on a leash, and in places where there are bylaws on letting cats outside it`s necessary. My cat would do this when we did it. Sort of passive resistance. My kitties now, one hides under the nearest available ledge, and the other looks like it`s gone retarded flipping all over itself.

Trust me, as long as you feed your cat and give it the right attention, he may trollop over for a snack, but he knows where his home is at the end of the night.

My cat gets fed by my boyfriend but I`m still her favourite.

Cats love just as much! Trust me my cat howls when I`m not around, even when I`m just outside.

Besides, I`d rather be loved conditionally by a cat than unconditionally by a dog, more effort put into the relationship and you know it`s for real <3

As far as the whole cat thing goes with the food, I have a story. My neighbors don`t really converse with each other, so one of them got a cat with orange markings on the side, black ears, pretty. It was walking around one day and we thought it was a stray, so we left food out for it. It ate the food, I named it (I was 7) and it was our cat for some time until once it went somewhere and we didn`t know where. then my friend and I went up the street (only kid I talked to) and saw the cat next to some dude at the porch WITH A FOOD BOWL NEXT TO IT. My friend told me it was her friends cat and I told her it was mine. We just sort of left it with the guy, and I don`t know what happened with the cat but I do know that`s when I started liking dogs. I guess all cats are different.

We`re not saying that it`s cruel to walk a cat (it`s good and safe exercise for indoor cats), but it`s cruel to drag it around when it obviously doesn`t want to be in it`s harness. You`re never supposed to force the cat, it needs to wear the harness daily and feed it treats so that it associates it as something fun or good. Light tugs are fine once you get to the walking process of training. This is wrong way to do it and this cat is never going to want to go for a walk after this.

LOL just when i thought cats had reached their maximum awesome potential and i couldnt love them anymore.

LOL it like gave up on life!

and yes you do have to train puppies to walk on leash, but they are eager to please and travel in packs, so they pick up real quick due to their pack nature.

this cat is clearly not trying to please anyone, though :-)

    Indeed Hayllee.

My cat is very attatched to me and my mom. When my brother, who does not live in the city, comes to visit us, my cat never approaches him even if my brother offers him his fave food.

When there are complete strangers it`s the same.

Not all cats are the same. Some might abandon you for food. Some will die to protect you.

"Dude, you`ll be late for work!"
    "....mmmffff*ckoff..."

I stopped leashing my cat (who stragely looks exactly like the one in the video), mostly because he`s a fighter, and he tries to kill the harness when it`s on him.

Seemed like he/ she had that eff you all feel to him. I`m a cat LOVER and in no way did this cat look harmed. Just severely put off! LOL very funny. I`mma go get a leash and see what my cats do!

It cant walk because of where the leash is going around the body of the cat. wrapping anything around the mid section of a cat throws off its equilibrium. wrap a tensor bandage around your cat and see what happens.

uitardrumer "wrap a tensor bandage around your cat and see what happens. "

Or, alternately, you can try this.

@guitardrumer You are a dumbass, my cat walks on a leash just fine, I rarely use it, but when I have put him in a harness in the past, he was purrrfectly normal.

    See what I did there?
