"Why didn`t the police send in their best swordsman to take him out in one on one combat? Attacking him from long range is just cowardly."

Lol, that would have been pretty sick to have them duel.

lol he is lucky he does not live in pasadena, md. the cops would have done shot and killed him after about 60 seconds. thats what happened to my friend because he walked toward 6 police officers with a pair of scissors. he was only 17 too, it sucked.

i remember seeing this on the news when it first happened back in the 90`s. YAY Seattle! However, the police should have known not to use water to take him down. He`s a Seattleite. Water does not phase us!

Are you serious?
Because they are police, not Klingons. An ideal arrest is when no one even raises his voice.

"rick s - what would justify shooting this guy in the head? he doesn`t seem to be doing anything wrong really. he may not be mentally stable but i`d like to hear why you think the police should have the right to shoot someone for no apparent reason."

Because society today is built by retards with guns and a tastes for violence?

"Master Splinter would be terribly disappointed with this performance"

Splinter trained Ninja, not Samurai. And no they are not the same thing.

Thanks Edna and Akinis. And you can pronounce it any how you wish. loo-tehn-ant-Fur-Pee is a little less dirty sounding that loo-tehn-ant-fur-pie.

@ crabcake

no dishonor to the simple comma! lol

I should have stated it is irrelevant concerning the usage of "a" vs. "an"

don`t listen to her ltFurpie. the comma is SO important. use them as often as possible. your post was just riddled with sentence enhancers!! the correct placement of the comma would be before and after "albeit".

LtFurpie- Semi-colon would probably be best in that situation. A simple comma would work too.

aka

Here`s what I see; a whole lot of money being used etc etc.

Either way, The newest superhero on the block: The Soaked Samurai!!

In other words, the comma is irrelevant.

@furpie (is it pronounce PEE or PI)

The correct choice of the “articles” a and an depends on the initial sound of a word, not on the initial letter, of the word that they precede.

The letter a should be used before all words beginning with a consonant sound except silent h (an honor) and before words beginning with vowels that represent combined consonant and vowel sounds (university, unit).

The word an should be used before all vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, u). Examples: an entry, an f, an hour, an orange, an ape, an odor, an idea, an eagle, an honor, an umbrella, and an unbeliever.

pmarren, the THOUGHT of having those shot at me there would make me surrender.
I`d rather go to jail a man then get a free sex change courtesy of the LAPD.

The a-hole British sounding announcer makes light of the situation. Here`s what I see: a whole lot of money (in the form of man-hours) being used to preserve an, albeit troubled, life.

Hey, do I use "an" or "a" if it is followed by a comma?

Dude took a couple of bean-bag shots to the seeds and stayed on his feet. He`s a better man than me, I`d have crumpled to the ground and screamed like a little girl.
