I liked it ^^, then again I`m a person who believes if you`re drunk and driving you deserve to get hurt >>

Why do people care so much about whether or not the stats are correct? The point is you should never drink and drive. That`s that.

The point is that it`s seen. Plus, mocking something means you`re showing it to someone else.

So what they are saying is that drink drivers give you that park which is in front of the doors and will always be available? cool!

"Because a sign painted on a handicap spot is really effective."

"somehow I just doubt that there is a database that doctor`s enter this info into... "

Everything done is data stored in computers these days. Every minute you work, Everything you buy, Every mile you drive, Every pill you take. It may not be unified into one huge all consuming database yet, But they are working on it.

There are these people in the world, called doctors, some of whom, for a living, teach medicine and perform research. One way research is done is to compile data from disparate sources into a database in order to draw conclusions, and sometimes publish studies. So while its doubtful there is a singular "database" doctors enter info into, it is possible to review medical records to compile data. Thats what professors pay graduate students to do.

Or, in other words, DERRRRRRRR.

I like the message. I knew a kid who was impaled in the stomach with a fence post. I laughed my head off. He didn`t die, but he should have. Better him than anyone innocent that could have been on the sidewalk at the time.

When I hear "drunk driving", all I think of is the little girl who was decapitated on the way to a family member`s wedding, or the guy who was heading the hospital because his wife was there and in labor with their first child.

"fancylad is in denial. I used to be a drunk driver, lucky enough that I didnt do that to anyone. grow up fancyfag"

Aww, did you make an account just to tell Fancylad you loved him? How cute!

@jamie76, actually, there is a database that has the names, dates, injuries, and things of everyone that gets admitted into a hospital.

failed troll has failed lol

jamie76, hospitals are very structured and organised places, like airports. They record everything. I don`t see why not. And as joey said, they probably took the results from a smaller group of people, like about 50,000, not the whole population of the country.

I think there should be more things like this, drunk driving is selfish and irresponsible.

@jamie76

Stats is done on a survey of a hanfull of people and then scaled up, it is impossible to ever do stats on exact figures - it wouldn`t be stats if it was.

So:

A: they do know out of the people surveyed
B: they do know out of the people surveyed
C: they do know out of the people surveyed

love to know how they arrived at that statistical figure...to even begin to come up with such a number they would have to know

A. how many drunk driving accidents there are per year
B. how many result in injuries
C. how many of those injuries are premant and disable a person from the wasit down

somehow I just doubt that there is a database that doctor`s enter this info into...

drunk driving is terrible, no one should ever be that stupid but let`s not use BS stats to promote safe driving...

you know what, that`s pretty f*cking poignant - especially since it`s not at all unlikely that the next unlicensed person to park there would probably be a drunk driver.

I guess there is a silver lining to being hit by a drunk driver...

"Sorry, jim, but you`re never going to walk again. Good news? Here`s your handicap tag!"

it may be preachy, but frankly i think anything we can do to try and reduce the number of drunk driving accidents is for the best.

I`d much rather take 3 seconds to read that sign than spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair thanks to some idiot who was drinking and driving.

If people would just use common sense and not drink/drive, these sorts of signs would need to be here. Stop being stupid and you`ll stop seeing these signs.
