There was a "funniest home video" where someone used string to get there wipers to work.

I think a giant squeegee works better.

That`s not getting the driver`s side. They`re going to need a longer pole.

    Great arm workout.

"what is a windscreen? i have a windshield on my car."

Windscreen is the name used here in Britain. Possibly it sees use elsewhere.

they call it a windscreen in other countries because they used to be just panes of glass. Other countries were slow to catch on to the 2 panes of glass with plastic in between which created a "shield" that was capable of stopping a remarkable amount of force. I have friends in Australia that told me stories of how they`d break windows going down dirt roads too fast.

My Grandfather did it the easy way. You tie a rope to the top of the blade, run it through the open window, out the other window and tie it back to the blade. When it rains just grab the rope and slide it back and forth. Keep in mind this was on a car with vacuum wipers so they sucked anyway. *Do not try this at home even thought it works.*
