What I`m trying to say is, this recipe works, but heating oil in a microwave is makes the oil extremely unhealthy. But if health ain`t yo thang then nuke away.

@tvremote: erm ... no ... that`s olive oil only, and it`s incorporated into a batter, the whole batter will "cool down" the oil, that`ll get emulsified into everything else while cooking. Especially if you are not leaving the mix there to separate (that`d beat the purpose anyways). No worries.

I am not using that particular mix, but I`m doing my own microwave cake mix, and it`s relatively similar, and makes a full double-chocolate with cherry cake. I`d say it`d do as expected.

    O_O

I made a mug cake like an hour ago, and then i came onto IAB and saw this. Creepy.

I made is slightly different: I used 2 heaped tablespoons of self-raising flour and sugar, 1 and a half tablespoons of cocoa, Approximately 2 tablespoons of butter and an egg. I added some water to help it mix easier. It was cooked through in nearly 2 minutes.

It was fantastically soft, but didn`t have nearly enough sugar, so try 3 or 3 and a half tablespoons. I also had really dark cocoa, and thought it needed less.

Don`t curse normal food please, because you`re the freak who thinks it`s good to not eat delicious food. All vegans look like they have AIDS. We were meant to eat meat. We did one better and farmed some animals to eat their offspring before they hatched and drank their titty milk. HUMANS RULE!

Everyone`s microwave is a little different. Plus there are varying qualities of the ingredients you may have on hand. So if they taste bland add a little more cocoa next time, If they are too sweet lessen the sugar, etc.

Wow, could you be any more arrogant? I`m not a vegan. There is good, delicious Vegan food, but since you probably never tried it more than once you wouldn`t know. They aren`t freaks because they make dietary choices that in their opinion are best for them. As well, they don`t look like they have AIDS. But yet again, your ignorance blinds you.

"If you actually click on the link, it says they heated the oil for 15 mins in a microwave. Not 3 mins."
Yeah, I saw that. But I don`t see that much of a difference between 3 minutes, 12 minutes, and 15 minutes. Maybe it`s insignificant, but I won`t take any chances.

Umm... That`s not true in the slightest. The only nutrient veg*ns should pay more attention to is B12, but many food items are fortified with it, so it`s not that big of a deal.

@Dainty I know a girl who is friends with several vegetarians and vegans who constantly bring up how bad meat, (etc) is for her. She is allergic to gluten, nuts, and milk. They seem to lack the protein powered brains to realize that meat is almost all she CAN eat. Her parents used to be vegetarian before she was born, but apparently, their lack of omnivorous behavior made her drated up. We, as humans, are omnivores. So you go do what you want so long as you don`t affect anybody else and Batmanners can shove it for trying to shove his beliefs on you.

I am however extremely tired of veganism as a fad among my peers just like party lesbianism (cause it`s edgy or some poo).

"@Dainty I know a girl who is friends with several vegetarians and vegans who constantly bring up how bad meat, (etc) is for her. She is allergic to gluten, nuts, and milk."

It`s unfortunate that there are some people that are saying that to her. I`ve never met a veg*n who acts like that, and I`m certainly as far as can be from that. (I`ve been the only vegetarian I`ve ever known for 10 years, and now vegan for 1. All I`ve known were omnivores)

But there are quite a few vegans I know who are allergic to nearly everything. You just need to a lot of research to what to eat. It`s /not/ for everyone, though.

"They seem to lack the protein powered brains to realize that meat is almost all she CAN eat."

Ok, now that was a bit uncalled for. It is nearly impossible not to get enough protein. Just some hummus and a pita is 12g right there. And the typical "American" eats far too much protein than needed. 50g is the general amoun

Substituting in soy milk and a banana for the egg and hello tomorrow`s breakfast!

For all the crap veg*ns gets, it`s been my experience that omnivores get preemptively defensive and attack my food choices for no reason. I don`t proselytize, but people expect me to when they find out I`m vegan and attack me first. How about everybody just shuts the drat up, myself included, about food??

Ever read a basic psychology textbook?
Teens do that to look for a place to belong. They are experimenting with groups (at times even sub-consciously) to find out who they are and what they are good at. Some get it in their first try, while others don`t ever find it at all (juvenile delinquents.) This leads to constant switching in and out of groups, as well as doing ridiculous things to try to go along with "trends" so they can fit in and find out to which group they really belong to.
Hundreds of studies have been made on the subject, and theres a lot more to it than I`ll put up on here.
I advise that you read up on the topic before saying someone should go die :P

I just made it, its impressive when it cooks it raises really high and then falls a little bit, that was cool to watch. When I turned the mug over a plate it just came right off. The taste is okay, I put 2 tablespoons of sugar instead of 3 and 2 tablespoon of oil instead of 3. It was definitely fun to do, will I do it again? Probably not.

@Zerocyde: But I never did, did I? No. I never called anyone a murderer. I simply ate differently, acknowledged that others ate their own ways, had their own tastes, likes, dislikes, and such and such. Personally I didn`t think I had to go vegan because I didn`t have any problems with drinking milk and using eggs, I found that I personally really needed to cut back on the meat and artificial slop. I lost weight, and I`m much happier with my body and personal appearance now.

If you had a problem with a vegan, I`m sorry you had a problem with a vegan, but deal with that person as an individual, not the whole world.

Nice recipe- it might work better in a bowl with a bit less nuking. However- it would be a fun thing for children to do, about the right amount for two or three children
and BTW- what other people eat or don`t eat is their problem. You may feel you wish to comment if that choice has adverse effects on your life or wallet. It would be great if everybody had a healthy attitude to food, and if agri-business stopped behaving in such an immoral and un-ethical manner, but vegans and veggies tend to be slightly better informed about what they eat than others. We should all just enjoy our food to the limit of its merits.

I don`t really understand why the whole vegan thing came up and why the original poster had to do it in such a negative way. Why not make a helpful comment that boasts out your dietary choices just as much, since that seems to be important. perhaps something like:

If you are vegan try applesauce instead of the egg!

I`m not even vegan and I know how to substitute things, it really gives the impression that you haven`t been doing the vegan thing long.

Personally, I can`t stand microwaves. My housemate even makes bacon in the microwave, and it drives me mad. It`s really not that difficult to make *real* brownies, plus you get enough out of a recipe for you and several friends, or to keep some for the following days. Not to mention (as people have already pointed out) the proportion of ingredients seems ridiculous. I hereby rename these `three-minute heart attack in a mug`.

I didnt have any cocoa so i used milo because it was the only thing we had in the brown, powdery and edible family. then as soon i took it out the microwave i covered it in nutella which went all gooey and melty and lovely cause it was so hot.

LIES! As soon as I read this, I went to my kitchen to make some. It tastes like hell and made my kitchen smell weird for about an hour. I made my fiance try it, and he spat it out. Then, after a few minutes, I started to feel nauseous. It sits in your stomach like a rock and the taste sticks to the back of your throat.

For the Cake Flour vs All Purpose discussion.

But then this is a microwave recipe, microwaves work by cooking the meal from the inside out. When you bake a cake, pie, or muffins, you`re using heat from an external source. That`s how you get a crust, the outside is finished first.

Mantistador, the best way to add pot to any item you`re baking is pot-butter. you have to sautee a good amount of weed in butter for until it is all wilty and cooked, then strain out the pot and just use the butter. all the thc has been absorbed into it. so i don`t know if you could use butter instead of oil in this recipe but you might.

    @SmilinSam

THC is fat-soluble, so you can cook pot in any fatty substance (butter, oil, bacon grease). I find that cooking pot in olive oil actually works much better than butter - it`s more versatile and instead of going from solid to liquid to solid like butter does, it just stays liquid. It`s smelly though :P
