Its not as fun as it looks like, its actually too big and it has all the spaces between the computers and its really annoying. The only thing this is good for is pr0n.

wow talk about extreme gaming, i dont this guy is getting laid anytime soon. LOL

----------------------

With the amount of cash he must have to be able to afford a setup like that, i`m pretty sure he gets laid a LOT more than you do.

I just don`t get how that would even be fun to play a game on. All the gaps between the displays would suck balls. I could see have a maximum of 4 monitors but even with 4 using all 4 for a single app or game would still be horrible.

Same reason that people need 80+" televisions.

Someone doesn`t have a girlfriend....
--------------------------------------------------

See...thats just silly.

Gaming is very much normal these days. However..there are some gamers who take it to the extreme. He (or she) is, in reality, no diffrent from all the boy racers who soup up their cars or the sports fan who has to know everything about every game his favourite team has ever played.

shiiii...in hind sight your probably right. Those sort of people generally are single.

To be honest, I suspect this is set up in an IT office or pc store somewhere rather than a private home made rig. Anyone who builds PCs (yes..I do) will know why I`m saying that.

this would get so annoying real fast, I use to use 4 monitors to play games and they arent that great. Make the monitor edges more slim so its a more seamless screen and it would be great, that will just hurt the eyes.

45 FPS actually isn`t that big a deal... your average movie plays at 24FPS, the human eye would think it was fluid at 18FPS.

Games have less blur, which is why you usually need a higher FPS. It also depends on your monitor type, the crisper the monitor, the higher FPS you need to simulate fluidity.

Basically: 45 in this case is probably going to give him very little flicker.

> Or, you could just get a high def projector and beast out a screen the same size as that with a much better PC rig and less wires

I`m legally blind (0% Right, 7% Left) and my monitor *IS* one wall of the lounge with a projector. Although modern projectors had fixed the old contrast issues, they are still expensive in terms of lamp hours and replacement, and noisy because of the extreme cooling needed. This guy`s rig is MUCH better I suspect.

I was wrong, you can set up custom resolutions.

I stand by shopped though - 24 monitors would require 12 high end dual output video cards, all crosswired to act as one.

Yeah, this wouldn`t actually help gaming - you want something that`s big, but not too big you have to constantly look everywhere, or turn your head too much. Pretty cool though.
Would be awesome for flight sims.

No its 15 FPS. This is obvious. When you have multiple monitors no part of the screen is lost. Part of the 1 is on the other screen.

Anyway, this doesn`t impress me one bit... Everything about it is wrong.

First off, its running Quake, a game in which reflexes and timing are everything at an abysmal frame rate. I don`t play Quake but 15FPS is considered unplayable. Not to mention the fact that you have to turn your head through a 180 deg. arc to see everything. You also have the bezels that break up the picture.

But what makes this suck the most is the fact that whoever made this had one hell of a budget, and that budget could have been used to make something far more awesome.

""LOL Quake 3 getting only 15 fps, no thanks."
I think it`s a 115 FPS"

no i think its 15 - normal tv is only 25-30 and the gap wouldn`t be a void as the monitors would be configured to show certain parts of the screen which wouldn`t have gaps (if that makes sense - i know what i mean)

Male 185
Pretty awesome. It gives him a pretty good advantage too, cause it looks like normally you`d only have the middle 4 columns x 3 rows. So he has it extended to give him the peripheral view. Not only that, since he has them bent like that and if he sits just the right distance from the screen he can see all 24 monitors simultaneously. I think it`s pretty cool. I would never do it myself though because I`d get motion sickness. I don`t get motion sickness playing games normally, but if the screen wraps around my peripheral vision I do.

"Methinks it is 115 fps, and the 1 is cut off between screens."
There`s no way it would do that, since the graphics unit is just displaying to all available pixels. Unless for whatever reason those monitors cut off an inch per side, it won`t lose any part of the image. It`s running at 15fps, plain and simple.
