If this is the way they taught Psych 101, all of you would pass.

My faith in articles, that this site posts links to, has been restored. Very intriguing.

one of the best cracked articles and iab posts in a long time. my abhorrance to vg`s has been justified.

Howlingwolf I thought so too. Cracked sucks lately. And where did Hate by Numbers go? He did like 3 episodes and disappeared.

A lot of my gaming has been a form of escape from a negative environment, and then most of the other leftover time is a pleasant distraction from things I should be doing.

And here I wanted to make games so gamers could have cool worlds to explore...maybe if I made them all by myself I could...instead of listening to what some game company wants me to make instead.

All I got out of the article was this: Dolphins are amazing.

Good article. I love video games, but this article is no surprise to me: it actually summarizes why I distanced myself from the MMORPG I was playing. No real rewards=time wasted.

My father has severe emotional and psychological issues stemming from a childhood of neglect and abuse. He has never been very good socially, because he has always been so incredibly tall (6`8" or 203.2 cm) and overly-muscular that as a young man, other people felt nervous around him (and still do), and he just couldn`t make friends. He thinks he`s the greatest thing since sliced bread, too. All these factors make for the PERFECT WoW addict. His personality forces him to be the strongest, so he thinks he has to play all day. Every moment he`s not at work, he`s on the computer.

There are just some people who are going to fall prey to these techniques very, very easily.

Terrific article, the best one on Cracked in a looong while. I guess the best we can do is hope that, like regular drugs, learning to say "no" early on before you`re sucked in will prevent you from having to painfully recover from video game addiction.

Wow. This is some scary poo right there. Seriously. I thought I had distanced myself from addictive gaming because I stay well away from MMO`s and such. Apparently, that is not enough. I am not as innocent as I thought. Fuch.

Because of what they said, I am starting to believe the best job in the world is teaching.
The teacher makes the lesson plan, ie. what they want to do.
Because different kids react differently to different things, that makes the repetitive lesson plan interesting to watch.
And you watch stupid kids become not stupid kids, if you`re doing it right.

Yes it does Madest...the whole thing about leveling fast at first then taking longer amounts of time so that leveling up again feels like more of a reward.

OH and that dolphin video was amazing! Seriously, how the crap do they do that?!

Skinner box, pressing the lever, refreshing the page... It all makes sense to the infuriating crappy ads iab has introduced.
