There`s an extremely popular renaissance fair not too far from where I live. It`s wear all the theater kids hide when it`s summer.

Hey, now! >_<
But, I do recant my statement based on the fact that I think centaur costumes are impossible to get right.
I`d still love to go to one of these. Just not see people like this there.

Don`t flatter yourself Paaa ;] lol. I wish to know if these are actually held. Seems like they all look like they`d be from the `90s.

Yes, it`s the Texas Renaissance Festival. No, it`s not in Houston, it`s around it. I can tell because of the trees :)

I would totally be a centaur if I went to one of those. But, it`s different for me because I`m a young and fiarly pretty, skinny girl.

ive seen pics of that guy around the net in other pics, its stuffed and on wheels...

I worked 10 years in a merch booth at the one here in ohio. What Dakkar says is true.

I`ve always wondered why a ren faire myself though. it must go way back and just sort of stuck around. If i had the money, i would create a fantasy festival that would give the people what the REALLY want, the experience of visiting the lands of their favorite medival fantasy world with different themed sections like "Mid-earthland" "Unremembered Realms" "Hyboraville" and "Randland" to name a couple...

@5Cats...My best guess is that he`s taken on the role of a centaur - part human, part horse. I`m not going to speculate if there`s another person playing the back end or if it`s stuffed and on wheels.

LOL! I`ve seen that guy at the festival in Huston, TX. Actually I think that`s where this pic was taken....I tried to ride him...didn`t work out...

im trying to pay more attention to the blond girl with the white short shorts in the back, too bad the camera man wasn`t aiming well enough to fully get her in the pic...

Like these three you mean. Feel for the person playing the centaurs back end, particularly as the front end is sporting an ale mug.

Regardless of how large the girl in that chain bra is, when I went to the texas ren fest a few years ago, chain bras were popular and aplenty on the hot girls.

I`ve been to the big PA Renaissance Faire several times. The first trips were always great, but then in the following years, it got pretty repetitive. Once I turned 21 it was a good time since they have some great beers, but the sameness of it all, plus the high prices for everything turned me off.

Good to experience a couple times, then move on.

"actually they`d be the reason to GO to one, on side point, What`s up with cup and mug on their belts? "

Authenticity. People didn`t have disposable silverware or dishes, and eateries were too poor to supply their own to so many people. So people carried their own or ate with their hands.

Yea, I agree, these folks are why I go. Its fun! Sometime you can learn a lot about specific crafts like sewing and metal working from people that make their own costumes. These folks just look like they would be fun to talk to and hang out with!
