Canada"s women"s hockey team won gold, but they went nuts on ice. Now they might be in trouble. Justifiable celebration?

They won the gold for gods sake. Remember years ago the stink that was raised when the US womens soccer team won the gold and one of the women took her jersey off on the field. For shame! If these were men doing this no one would blink an eye. Go Girls!

I wonder how the investigation will go lol there is nothing to investigate. they celebrated on ice. big deal. give them a fine for smoking in a non smoking building. im sure they dont care and im sure it was well worth it. GO CANADA! so happy for DOMINATING hockey in both women`s and men`s. Oh and not to mention, our record breaking GOLD medals. We may not have placed first in the olympics, but I would have to say it is better being THE best rather than 2nd and 3rd best ;)

Let them have their fun. These are female hockey players, that emergency condom shipment has NOTHING to do with them.

A bottle of champagne, a few beers, a couple cigars as they `sat` in a little group while getting pictures taken

my god what a riot

Aeladil: These are Canadian women. I would mind it if they got naked on the ice. Other than that, it`s all good.

They could roll around on the ice naked for all I care; they won this country a gold medal. Who gives a flying f*ck what they do on the ice after the game!

They`re celebrating, what the hell is wrong with that? If I just won a gold I think I`d crack open a beer too.
I have to say the American men`s team did great tonight, awesome opponents!
And Crosby`s from my home province so I have to give props to him.
Go Canada! ^_^

Beer and cigars!?! My God, what a bunch of animals. Seriously, I think the haters need to go f**k themselves and stop trying to rain on people`s parades. They won an Olympic Gold Medal at home.... they aren`t allowed to be excited and celebrate? If you don`t like it, it`s sour grapes and you`re a d*ck. Plain and simple.

"When men win the stanley cup, they drink out of it ALWAYS to celebrate- it`s a tradition. some winners have even.used it to baptise theyre children."

I would love to drink from it, but I don`t know if my germaphobe mind would let me. players have openly admitted to pissing in the cup...

Who the hell cares?
When the Lakers win a friggin basketball game the celebration party is always a riot. Literally.
The damn people start a riot whenever they win.
Can someone explain this to me please?
My personal explanation is that they are all high.

So a beer or two and a cigar on the ice. Seems reasonable. I presume if they all piled into a night club and emerged totally wankered at 4am that would be ok?

I think it`s totally justified.

When men win the stanley cup, they drink out of it ALWAYS to celebrate- it`s a tradition. some winners have even.used it to baptise theyre children.

the stands are empty, everyone has left. public drinking i guess, but you can buy beer to drink during a hockey game there.

and IAB CANADIANS- poke fun at the americans about the upcoming game if you will- but keep it friendly! dont insult them! we wouldnt want everyone to call us rude, opinionated a$$holes. Then we`d be no different then them :P

LOL im totally kidding.
But seriously I almost passed out when we lost the last game, and i could hardly talk from all the yelling at the tv the next day. I dont think i can take it again if we lose...

i would say no...its not justified..people have been kicked out and had medals taken away for less than that..we dont think its a big deal, because drinking and smoking is part of our daily life. what they did is bad sportsmanship...to all female hockey players..

Actually, even the olympic committee said that the media was blowing this way out of proportion. They aren`t allowed to drink on the ice, and one of the girls was only 18 and the legal drinking age in BC was 19 so SHE definitely wasn`t allowed. But really they were just asked to stop. It was no big deal.

GO CANADA!!!

I have no problem with the morality of them celebrating by smoking and drinking. It`s just that they dropped ashes and spewed beer and champagne all over the ice. Somebody had to clean that up by partially melting the ice and going over it with a wet vac before they could use the arena again. It`s not an easy job.

I mean that I would take a men`s gold over a women`s any day (especially tomorrow). I just think team sports like hockey are much more competitive on the men`s side than the women`s, so a gold medal really means more (not to offend anybody TOO much).

I agree with davy, does it make any difference whether they celebrate in an empty stadium, or the bar down the street? Also it doesn`t look like they are that ridiculously hammered to the point of becoming violent/doing something crude or inappropriate to the public.

They worked hard, and won gold. I don`t see any problems here.

Also, shame on you fancy for not linking up an article or story to back up the pictures. You say in the title they`re under investigation, yet there is absolutely nothing in the information below the pictures to support your claim.

Here`s an article btw: http://www.kare11.com/news/news_article....
