Hayaoist "The new mustang is in no way shape or form an improvement"

Unless, of course, you`re one of those weirdos who thinks faster acceleration, higher top speed, better aerodynamics, better handling, better fuel economy, better ride, better crash survivability, longer-lasting drive train, better rust resistance, longer warranty, quieter cabin, more standard equipment, more power accessories, more comfortable seating, and a way, way, WAY better sound system would be considered an "improvement."

@yepimbored

I hope you know that the US still has one of the most free and deregulated market environments out there relative to other developed countries. The US still has the highest return to R&D hence so many foreign Pharma/BioTech companies are more based in the US. Also, research funding has never been higher since Obama took over.

amaru420.

My mustang has 60k miles. No breakage whatsoever and I take it to the drag strip at least once a month. My friend`s mustang has 53K and he drives 300 miles a week. My friend did an top end engine rebuild on his `79 camaro himself after 400k mi and had his transmission rebuilt 100K miles ago.

Proper maintenance is key. Average car user don`t know when the proper interval for change for sparkplugs, oil, filters (oil, fuel, tranny, air) plug wires.

I BET THE RUSSIAN CAR RUNS BETTER THAN AMERICAN CARS. seriosuly though american cars were a lot more badass back then as compared to now. LOOK AT MY NEW 2010 MUSTANG. 40,000 miles later its LOOK AT ME RENTAL CAR WHILE MY TRANSMISSION GETS FIXED TEMPORARILY

That is what happens when your economic system is based on government control, doesn`t allow for return on investment, reward innovation or allow competition. This is what the US is marching towards. Do they still teach history?

And the front bumper now comes in black. That`s right, black. Suave, no?

BTW, old Mustangs are great -- I`ve had three of them -- but the Mustang II was a piece of crap. I never had one of them, but my brother did. It was basically just a dressed-up Pinto.

it`s a shame that the new ones no longer deliver the personal feedback of actually being able to work on them yourself when they need it...

the car-driver relationship was killed by the internal car computer...

"old mustangs kick the A$$ out or the new ones"
not the one on the picture..

"do the new mustangs even have rear wheel drive?"
As a matter of fact they do.

"That thought alone demoralizes them by HALF"
although you can argue that the classic ones are much better, and by that i mean 1965 to 1970 MAch 1 or Boss 302, the new ones handle better have more power, and they give you better gas mileage

Hey. I drive that same model BMW 720i from 1978, and it still runs perfectly. They may have lost the War, but the krauts sure won the Best Car Builders consolation prize.

Reminds me of that episode of Top Gear where they try and see if `Communism ever made a good car.`

At one point they raced a Russian car and a dog. The dog won.

Some here are laughing at the beemer!?

Hmmn, leaf springs (designed in the 1800`s), 300 HP from a 5 litre V8. The sad and very real truth is that the 1970`s BMW is far ahead of the 2010 Mustang for performance, technology and build quality. imagine how immensely the 2010 version will p*ss on it. You can`t sell these in Europe because they are famous for being so sh*t. Looks nice, but a polished turd is still a turd...

Well, Russia is a control economy, and only has one car manufacturer, if I remember right. Because there`s no competition for the cars, there`s no incentive to change them. The biggest change that they`ve gone under in a long time was the addition of windshield wipers, but they actually have to be removed when leaving the car to avoid having them stolen by people with later models. >n> Control economies don`t work so well.
