I think one of humanity`s big problems is understanding scale on any reasonable level.
Everything from our place in the world to our place in the universe, to the odds of events, to labels we give each other.
You don`t need this to know how small you are. You are one of 7 billion people. What does that mean?
It means THIS is how many plastic beverage bottles are used every 5 minutes in the US alone.
You don`t need to look at the size of the universe to know how small we are.
oh...and the whole immensigigantimagnitude...thing was alright too...
Me too. I only know enough to begin to realise how much I don`t know.
Still have Wikipedia. :)
Unknown. Perhaps there`s no such thing as outside the universe. Which goes over my head - if it`s finite, how can outside it not exist?
and is thre anything smaller that that planck length thingy?
As far as I know with my limited understanding, size ceases to have any meaning below that. Below that scale, it`s all one big wtf (also known as quantum effects). But we don`t really know, because none of it is remotely close to being examinable. It`s purely a matter of maths and theory. I`m nowhere near knowledgable enough to have a clue about whether it`s right or not.

Does this program remind anyone of that video of a press conference microsoft had with that program that was like a newspaper and you could keep zooming into it. and like they would zoom so the letter was super big then they zoomed into the side of it and there was another article written on the edge of the letter or something like that? Pretty cool
- like 10^5 x 3.5???
Apart from that, great animation :)
And nothing ends past the 13.7 billion ly horizon. The Universe is infinite, so there are an infinite number of stars and galaxies beyond our visible Universe. And I think it has been on IAB before, but one day, Earth will be the only body within its visible universe. Thanks dark energy!
Also- Spore Music FTW
IAB doesn`t host flash games, just the pictures.
This is the actual SWF file: http://primaxstudio.com/stuff/scale_of_u...
It`s 3.456,77 KB to be precise. It`s just the iab server which is slow.
HOW dratING BIG IS THIS FILE
ate a bowl of soup...
and were at 51%.
MTV-garbage? what the hell choo talking about?
Quantum steamed milk.
I`m in shock.
