I don`t know why people want to live to 100. You`d be all decrepit and wrinkled. You`re gonna die one day. No matter how many nuts you eat and how much dental floss you use.

What about people who smoke once every blue moon?
I smoked a cigar for the first time last week, before that, I smoked my hookah about 3 weeks before that, and there I times I go a month without smoking.
What type of damage does smoking like that do to someone?

Although I haven`t done any research on it, I`d be inclined to think having a baby after age 40 does not cause you to live longer... More likely it`s that if your body is well enough to bring a baby to term after age 40, then your body is well enough to live a long time.

"More likely it`s that if your body is well enough to bring a baby to term after age 40, then your body is well enough to live a long time."

isn`t that what the infograph said? it`s proven if you have a baby after 40 you exhibit genes of longevity.

I wouldn`t want a kid after 40, let along closer to 50 like I know a couple of mom`s that have. think about it, at your kids HS graduation you`ll be 60 or 70 respectively.

"Findings show that those who have babies later in life are 15% less likely to die DURING ANY AGE AFTER 50 than those who had babies before age 40."

So, does that mean that if you have a baby after the age of 40 that you are never going to die?

Easy to say you wouldn`t want to live to 100 when you are 13-17 .I wonder if you would feel the same at the age of 50? I`m 37 and would hate to think that my life is half over alreay .

If you have a baby after the age of 45, the child has a 1 in 8 chance of having Downs Syndrome. I don`t know about anyone else, but I don`t like those chances. Of course, that is only one disease that increases in likelihood as you age.

    > If you have a baby after the age of 45, the child has a 1 in 8 chance of having Downs Syndrome.

You`re using fairly old and/or unreliable stats there. 20 years ago, you had a much higher chance at any age, but most doctors considered the risk too high at 40. These days, its `relatively` safe to have children to 50 at least.

    At 45, you have a 1 in 25 chance.

Well ya know, smoking will take 10 years off your life.

Yeah, but it`s the 10 years at the end, right? The drooling, strapped in a wheelchair, adult diaper years. The, "Why`s it so cold in here," years. The "Grandma/pa smells funny," years. The shovel full of pills years. The "I can`t remember my own name, let alone your`s," years. The prostate the size of a cantaloupe years. The "Get off my lawn, you damn kids!" years. The driving aimlessly at 5 miles an hour, years.

Screw that. Live fast, die young, leave a pretty corpse.

Or those years where you start mistaking "apostrophes" for commas. Or those years where you don`t realize that you don`t close a quotation inside a sentence with a period when the sentence continues, you instead use a comma. Or those years when you don`t realize that you don`t close a sentence with two periods - or that an ellipsis is denoted by three periods.

    Yup, those years.
