Social media will slowly engulf the world until almost all media is social media. The process is already well on it`s way. I really think Twitter might already be the best news source in the world, and you could actually probably consider Wikipedia social media as well. I think there`s going to be a day when all news and information will be completely word of mouth through things like this. Don`t be surprised if any other social networking sites from here on out take a page from Twitter. The best way I can describe it to people who don`t use Twitter is that if printed news is to people within a city, and e-mail is to people within the same neighborhood, and Facebook/Myspace are in the same house but different rooms, then Twitter is a giant party in one great big banquet hall. The banquet hall concept is the future.

Only downfall to Twitter and any other service that try to mimic them is that rumors get started and spread extremely easy.

Vorp- it is good, the fact that people have commented should show you that, despite having limited money. The fact fact that the subjects in your clip do not necessarily speak clearly is not too much of a problem as it adds to the debate. I do, however, think it would help if you practised the role of narrator. It is not me being picky ( I hope you can see it as a constructive comment LOL). Try playing around to see what different effects you can get with different narration, I suspect you will find it easy to change how the piece feels.

okay before security escorts me for talking too much. I wonder if i am still allowed to post any more of my films that IAB would like (and would they even be let on?).

Because I have an XKCD movie in pre-production that I know you guys would like.

plus just a shout out, me and the video yearbook at my school have very few means to make films and yet we are doing a GREAT job despite our financial difficulties. *gets nabbed by security*

That doesn`t mean that I cant do better, because I have trust me...

No no no...teenagers who have always expected instant gratification are not using e-mails. People who own businesses and make money and know how the world works, outside an egocentric little mind, still use e-mail.

I use e-mail still for job searches, contacting some family.
Of course no one is going to use e-mail for chatting, that takes too long. It`s for more professional uses

E-mail may have completely gone kaput over a means of extremely frequent contact, but it is still needed and very useful for sending official and longer messages.

No, no it is not. My mom uses email for her business more times per day than you can count. And I use email frequently as well, to ask my uncles questions about my recording studio, or get notifications on when games are shipped, and I broke up with my girlfriend through email.

"hey wait a second collective high school minds, whats this about a future generation?? I thought "Global Warming" was going to kill us all? Pick a future scenario and stick to it."
No no, they`re going to release some new hardware in 2012 silly.
(Obvious sarcasm)

@unmercyfuldu

You matter the most so what you think is happening is definitely happening. To hell with future generation they are insignificant and everything they will be trumped by your greatness.

You need to learn to think outside the box man. High schoolers are the future generation in the internet`s success, but of course you know that right?

Ok this is apparently a high school project. It is actually good but the narrator is monotone (he should use autotune to help him out). The best place to find out the future of the internet is with high school teenagers there generation will change and the generation before them and so on. Not a bad project but needs way more depth but accurate none the less.

Well, I am not sure about email, but the ability to speak clearly seems to have been lost. Diction boys and girls- it really matters!Learn to speak so you can be clearly understood.

Well, in the context of the video, a lot. The video suggests social networking sites are replacing email (one could argue it has for high school students, but this video does not). These websites allow people to inform others that "Kelly thinks Bobby is hunky" or "My parents are buying Chinese takeout tonight, yay!" I think it is a pretty safe statement to say that doesn`t matter. So if that is the kind of crap that is replacing email... you get the idea.

I now realize though that this video was created by vorp. Sorry for any hurt feelings there buddy. I just don`t come to this website for high school show and tell. I come for a good laugh or to see something insightful.

Right... a high school student video. Why is this on here, there were no actual statistics displaying any evidence that email is dying. Only the opinions of high school kids. They don`t need to email because... THEY DONT MATTER! Maybe interview people who have, I dunno... jobs!
