Who knew your profile photo on your Facebook, MySpace or even I-A-B said so much about you and your intentions?

I`m sure my profile picture would have netted plenty of responses - probably a good thing I missed that boat!

I am so fascinated with Internet dating - it wasn`t really popular back when I was single.

Thing is,, I`ve been on OKcupid for about 6 months now. Went on a couple dates that didn`t turn out so well.

Met a woman through a friend of mine that lives 5 minutes away from me. Things are sparking and its great.

Statistics at its finest, huh? I can`t complain, we have to do something similar in our Stat class and the article showed me that just about any topic can be analyzed for interesting results.

This was a very interesting article, although it`s left me slightly confused about what profile pictures are best...

But yeah, cleavage or "Myspace" shots are usually a turn-off for me, just makes me think they look a bit trashy... I found the picture of the girl with the guitar to be very attractive.

So basically... this article is saying that people are pretty shallow (or simple) when it comes to internet dating by photos? Sad, but... not surprising.

I would enter the Boobies contest but somehow I think it would change the tone of the competition a bit if I did :-)

What the hell is up with those graphs? Is it that hard to start at zero?

They are showing which factors are above or below the average, in order to show which strategy either helps a person (moves the outcome above average) or hurts a person (moves the outcome below average) so their layout is actually the best way to show the effects. Just think of the average as "zero" and every factor as having either a plus or minus effect starting from the average.

I found this article absolutely fascinating, but unfortunately I`m an overweight married guy with two kids so it is sort of useless for me. I gave it four stars, though. And I was totally turned on by the redhead that they used for the example of the "MySpace shot" which sort of proves their point.

I skim read most of that...

I guess this means as I am looking away, not smiling and not flirty that I will not get as many messages.. Oh darn.. What ever will I do If the need for me to join an online dating site ever arises???? Pout, show boobies whilst playing a guitar and doing the splits apparently..

I found that quite interesting, if next-to-useless, but then again, what is this website for if not random inconsequential poo that only serves the purpose of alleviating boredom. So, thanks I-A-B, solid post.
