Teens Use Their Jeep As A Techno Instrument [Vid]

Submitted by: JaLacaob 7 years ago in Entertainment

This is probably the most literal steampunk techno ever... This clip must have taken days to figure out.

"GosuPaul"

What he said.

HOWEVER!

I`m not here to debate whether it`s fake or not.

I`m wondering HOW the HELL you get that this is STEAMPUNK?

There`s nothing to do with steam... Hell, it`s the exact opposite, a gas guzzling monster.

I officially dub the description a failure. JaLacaob, thou must redeem thyself with your next post, lest you be dubbed a failure as well...

It`s not steampunk, either...unless that car was built in the 1800s or is steam powered.

It`s only somewhat fake. The guy recorded all the sounds from the same car, but they`re not playing the sounds in real-time. He put it together using software.

If you guys NEED an example, look around 1:49 at the guy with the jumper cables. You`ll notice that he does a distinct motion every time the buzz noise occurs so that he can clearly signify he`s the one doing it. Around 1:49, he doesn`t touch the cables together yet the sound still occurs. What does that tell you?

What about the guy with the jumper cables? He touched them together so you could hear the energy flowing. That wasnt the jumper cable sound.

AHA fake.
After the engine rev and the multi door slam, the seat buzz begins before the door was even opened.

Is it bad that all I could think about was Top Gear`s version of "Money" when watching this?

As a dedicated steampunk I must ask... How is this steampunk at all? I am looking for any modifications to the Jeep... scratch that, anything. I would be pleased if any single person managed to point out a steam punk part of this video.

I found the noise abrasive and quit after 54 seconds, so if it occurred after that point I apologize...

JaLacaob, No matter how many I`s you put in a word, it won`t change my trusted truth detectors of my eyes ears and brain. Sorry to burst your bubble. I`d have loved to have been a fly on the wall in your house when you heard about Santa and the Tooth Fairy.

Handsompod: Riiiight. They also switch who closes which door first, might be closing them a little harder or quicker than the previous round of beats, and each door has it`s own microphone as you can see from the video. I`m calling BS on your BS call.

Nope sorry, I call BS to this being a live performance. It may have been made using sampples of the jeeps sounds. But you can clearly here the change in pitch and tone of the rear doors swap from left to right and then back again. I know I`m sad for noticing but that`s why I used to get paid to be a sound engineer. I notice anal little things like that in music.

Wish I could do that with my jeep, but alas it has no power windows, locks, or many of the other things used in the video.
Proud to know mine roars louder though.

The sounds in this video are ACTUAL sounds from the Jeep. Everyone began rehearsing their parts 2 weeks before we shot the video. It took them 7 hours of filming to get a solid take. Enjoy! © 2009
