we had a mini earthquake about 8 years ago at my house. my dog did the same thing right before. i think they can hear it coming because an earthquake is like a ripple, it goes out in a wave like pattern from the epicenter. id do the same thing if i heard one coming too.

what was all the orb looking things flying into the camera lens

we like to call that dust. it tends to be kicked up when you shake an entire building.

lol at the dogs` reaction. He freaked out at what seemed like nothing and then that guy was just all like O.o. That`s terrible though. D:

What we didn`t see in the rest of the video is the dog running out of the building, locking the door behind him so people can`t get out, and hopping into his owner`s car and driving away. Now that`s instinct!

we had a very mild earthquake about a year ago. my cats did the same thing as the dog in the video, and a few seconds later we felt a jolt. i thought someone had driven a car into the house for a few seconds, lol. -_-

if you watch the other videos from the Times building you basically see the journey the dog took. crazy

So the dog predicted the quake several milliseconds before the rest of us? Forgive me for not wanting to replace the national Geological Survey personnel with canines just yet. It`s hardly what I`d call long-reach prediction.

the chair didnt sense anything, the fat guy in the chair moved around when the dog ran out...

and what i love is that the guy realized something was wrong when the dog flipped out.

This settles a dispute indefinitely between a friend of mine and I. I have Googled the Shyte out of this, and, it did nothing as I had no vids of this phenomenon. At least, GOOD ones. Thx, I-A-B!

Bluish, the man was sitting in the chair and then it turned because he was probably checking why the hell the dog just took off running.

So the dog knew... but where did it even end up running to? Did it even find its way out of the building? IMO, humans still win.

I was right in the middle of the mofo that hit northern california. that dog was spot-on in its reaction.
Still not as big as the quakes I felt in 1992 though...

Animals can sense the precursor low-auditory waves that we humans cannot.

That hardly proves poo... the dog had it`s whole body pressed against the floor and felt the rumbles less than a few seconds before the dude. There are definetely better examples..

You know what? Cats are assh*les and wouldn`t let people know an earthquake was coming. They can sense it, no doubt, but they just don`t care. lol

I`m pretty sure dogs can just hear better than people. Dogs probably just hear the rumbling earlier, assume a big ass predator is on the way, and high-tail it(Get it? Tail?)

Did the dude have the dog specifically as an earthquake detector? Because he seemed to know to get out of there a bit sharpish.

"WTF? What`s the dog doing? Oh, damn! Earthquake! GTFO!

...Oh, no, wait. It`s just a chew-toy. Carry-on."

Dogs tend to sense things way more acutely. There are working dogs that can sense when people are about to have seizures and warn their owners to sit down ect...

He only sensed it a few second before it happened, he probably just heard it.

Doesn`t the earth send out some kind of wave before earthquakes hit? I remember hearing that somewhere.

"i bet we used to have similar senses."

We probably did, before we removed ourselves from nature over the ages.
