Doesn`t the earth send out some kind of wave before earthquakes hit? I remember hearing that somewhere.

"i bet we used to have similar senses."

We probably did, before we removed ourselves from nature over the ages.

Dogs tend to sense things way more acutely. There are working dogs that can sense when people are about to have seizures and warn their owners to sit down ect...

Did the dude have the dog specifically as an earthquake detector? Because he seemed to know to get out of there a bit sharpish.

"WTF? What`s the dog doing? Oh, damn! Earthquake! GTFO!

    ...Oh, no, wait. It`s just a chew-toy. Carry-on."

I`m pretty sure dogs can just hear better than people. Dogs probably just hear the rumbling earlier, assume a big ass predator is on the way, and high-tail it(Get it? Tail?)

That hardly proves poo... the dog had it`s whole body pressed against the floor and felt the rumbles less than a few seconds before the dude. There are definetely better examples..

So the dog predicted the quake several milliseconds before the rest of us? Forgive me for not wanting to replace the national Geological Survey personnel with canines just yet. It`s hardly what I`d call long-reach prediction.

What we didn`t see in the rest of the video is the dog running out of the building, locking the door behind him so people can`t get out, and hopping into his owner`s car and driving away. Now that`s instinct!

we had a mini earthquake about 8 years ago at my house. my dog did the same thing right before. i think they can hear it coming because an earthquake is like a ripple, it goes out in a wave like pattern from the epicenter. id do the same thing if i heard one coming too.
