This has to end. Bronte is probably spinning in her grave. Hey, not a bad idea. Even as a zombie Ms. Bronte could pwn that fictional pansy vamp.

If this spills over into Jane Austen I am leaving the country. Indeed the planet.

Also, FEAR MY WARSHIP!

@ TysonRp, you think with that extensive collection of books you would have used the right WORSHIP not WARSHIP like you did unless the guy has a war ship named after him now.

Yeah I saw these in a bookshop a while ago. I ripped out pages from my notebook and slipped notes inside which read: "You know this isn`t Twilight, right?" and "Just to let you know, there aren`t any vampires in this one". Its awful that classic books have been reduced to this.

"Excuse fail. There are literally billions of books you could have chosen to read, and you chose Twilight. Really, it sounds to me like you feel like you have to make excuses for reading, period. What, you`ll only pick up a book if your PSP breaks down? Literacy fail, as well."

I actually have an extensive collection of books, and the only technology I had at the time was my laptop, film camera and television. I have read all the books I currently own at least five or six times, but I don`t own Twilight, I borrowed it from one of my friends who is one of those people who warship Edward . . . yeah yeah. When I said I read it because my technology broke I meant specifically those books, my technology was constricting my time to such a degree that I didn`t have the time to read those specific books. I easily read about ten or eleven books a month.

And yes, I have nothing better to do than write this.

i never read the series, i went and saw the first movie (reluctantly, i only went cuz i had a good chance of gettin a piece of ass that night) and the movie sucked. it was boring, predictable, and not worth the time spend between the beginning of the date and getting laid

I have read the Twilight books, mainly because every bit of technology I had broke a few months back, and they aren`t as bad as everyone is saying they are.
I`m not saying that they are good . . . at all . . . . . . ever, but they aren`t this abomination of the english language that everyone is making them out to be.
The movies suck donkey ass through a straw though, those ARE abominations.
I think the main reason that everyone hates the books is because of their fan club of teenage girls who will murder you if you say anything bad about their oh so holy Edward.

There`s my two cents.

And PreoSmo -

Are you stupid? Meyer has said over and over again that she`s a novice writer, and that she`s seen improvement in her writing since starting, but she has NEVER claimed to be a literary genius. If she did, more people would hear about because it`s simply that untrue.

It`s that big of an inconvenience on you that someone changed a book cover to bring in a new audience? Wow, that`s impressive that you have that little of a drating life.

Seriously, you Twilight-haters must think about that drating series more than the fans do. That is NOT hatred.. That`s obsession. Get some help.

I read and enjoyed the books, except the last one bleh, but it was the movies and the fangirls after the movies that just killed my vamp fantasies. Blame the movie franchise and the pandemonium that it causes because books will never garner this much attention.

If it makes you feel any better, they`re not doing it to make people read it as much as they`re trying to cash in on the horrible Twilight craze. Plus, the idiots who worship the books will actually get a little bit of culture for once. So it`s not TOTALLY bad thing! You just have to look at it right!

Agreed Smith. What happened to vamps who are also mysterious and powerful sorcerers? None of them fly or shape shift any more, none of them have the "evil genius" factor, they are almost never rich and powerful as an immortal being would be with infinite time to build a fortune. I miss characters like Barlow from Salem`s Lot, hypnotizing his victims and making crosses burst into flames.

All these books look and probably are exactly the same. What happened to the vampires I used to know and love? The cold, calculating killers that had not so much as an iota of compassion or love. Whose only goal was to seduce you into their their grasp so they could suck the very fluid that keeps you alive. STOP turning my favorite childhood bringers of fear into these pussy love stories. If you want to read a love story so badly, why don`t you improve your vocabulary a little and pick up some shakespeare?

I am not really sure why you said that, but I very clearly referred to when the characters were conceived. The characters were conceived by an author who made them up. They`re not real.

Not only do I honestly love Wuthering Heights, I am also wondering how they imagine this sort of marketing strategy is going to work? I mean, seriously, as if any twilight fanw*ore is actually able to unterstand half of it...

And people who actually read classic literature will definitely be deterred buying a book blemished with such atrocity.

There are also copies of Romeo and Juliet and Pride and Prejudice that were redone with Twilight-themed cover art. They have the quotes "The original forbidden love" and "The love that started it all," respectively.

Emily Bronte lived from 1818-1848, died at the age of 30 having written just one book, "Wuthering Heights"

Based on this information alone, I am pretty sure "Wuthering Heights" was written about 160 years before this Edward or Bella character were even conceived.
