If this spills over into Jane Austen I am leaving the country. Indeed the planet.
Because one spelling mistake completely disregards my previous statement.
Also, FEAR MY WARSHIP!
I actually have an extensive collection of books, and the only technology I had at the time was my laptop, film camera and television. I have read all the books I currently own at least five or six times, but I don`t own Twilight, I borrowed it from one of my friends who is one of those people who warship Edward . . . yeah yeah. When I said I read it because my technology broke I meant specifically those books, my technology was constricting my time to such a degree that I didn`t have the time to read those specific books. I easily read about ten or eleven books a month.
And yes, I have nothing better to do than write this.
There`s my two cents.
sounds like someone is a twilight fan!!
Are you stupid? Meyer has said over and over again that she`s a novice writer, and that she`s seen improvement in her writing since starting, but she has NEVER claimed to be a literary genius. If she did, more people would hear about because it`s simply that untrue.
Seriously, you Twilight-haters must think about that drating series more than the fans do. That is NOT hatred.. That`s obsession. Get some help.
Plus How funny is it that there`s a Twilight 3 add right above this pic....(atm at least)
I just threw up a little in my mouth...
Now THIS is real literature. Screw the gay sparkly vampires.
Because unfortunately for anyone with any taste in literature (I use the term ever so loosely in regards to the Twilight series), Twilight seems to be what sells at the moment.I f**king hate you Stephanie Meyers or whatever you`re called.
(Although, art in its entirety is an opinion.)
That was either proof that our generation is filled with degenerates or very poor sarcasm.
Please don`t ask me how I know that, I`m keeping it on the D-L.
But hey, Anne Rice did something similar for the Spanish translations of her books.http://ruthadsuar.files.wordpress.com/20...damn IAB I can`t add an image XD
wow. i don`t think that made a lick o` sense.
@kitwatsonThat also made me laugh.
If it makes you feel any better, they`re not doing it to make people read it as much as they`re trying to cash in on the horrible Twilight craze. Plus, the idiots who worship the books will actually get a little bit of culture for once. So it`s not TOTALLY bad thing! You just have to look at it right!
BOOOOORIIIING. But seriously, I see what your sayin`.
Blackcat, just because it makes money, doesn`t mean it`s not lowering our collective IQ`s.
Maybe the picture isn`t American! :O
I am not really sure why you said that, but I very clearly referred to when the characters were conceived. The characters were conceived by an author who made them up. They`re not real.
Do none of you people know a thing about advertising? By changing this book cover, HOW many more copies of this book have they sold? HOW much more money have they made? A pooTON! It was a smart marketing decision.
As for the cover, it`s cute. I kinda` like it.
If they`re reading Twilight, you think they`re going to be able to even understand good literature?
Not only do I honestly love Wuthering Heights, I am also wondering how they imagine this sort of marketing strategy is going to work? I mean, seriously, as if any twilight fanw*ore is actually able to unterstand half of it...
And people who actually read classic literature will definitely be deterred buying a book blemished with such atrocity.
I have that book.
When I saw it in the bookstore and I saw that on the cover, I was appauled.
Unfortunately, there were no other copies, so when I got home I had to literally cut off the "Bella and Edward`s favorite book" part from the cover and dispose of it.
If any subsequent vampire story was referenced on the cover of said book, I honestly would have to murder the party responsible for doing so
Based on this information alone, I am pretty sure "Wuthering Heights" was written about 160 years before this Edward or Bella character were even conceived.
