Just get a third-brand or something. Sooo much better. And hey, I can use them as a flash-drive.
I`ve got a PC built twelve years ago running just fine. When companies have to compete, the result is a product with a low price and long life.
An Apple computer is basically $100 more for a sticker of a fruit and a guarantee that a lack of competition results in parts manufactured by the lowest bidder.
Not the first time I`ve deleted a comment of yours for bypassing the language filter. Perhaps I should`ve temp banned you before now so you got the message, but I didn`t so whatever. It`s there for a reason. Keep it up and you`ll be banned. Play nice.
It ends up working that way anyways, when companies constantly upgrade their poo.
People don`t need gadgets to become "better organized." Organization is learning responsibility and running your own affairs- not your iPhone doing it FOR you. Using a tool to do all that for you (as I have seen some people do), you`re just a monkey pushing a button without thinking.
1) Not a small laptop. 2) Not a large iphone.
Which to be fair, it isn`t.
You miss the point.
1) The old Tablet PCs came out at not $400, but $2000. 2) The one you linked is triple the weight. Is larger than the "cumbersome" iPad. 3) It takes up MORE space when you can use the keyboard.4) Weight.5) The touchscreen resolution is worse. I`d bet an arm its less responsive.6) The weight.
Your link will never replace taking a book or paper with you on a plane. That is what the ipad is going for.
You link is every possible example of what the ipad is trying to do, and in every way seems to be succeeding, NOT in replacing computers, but by coming up with a new gadget, that takes the place of old media, and does it better.
You might as well put in a link to your car. I`m sure it has many cool features that the iPad lacks, however doing so is just showing you haven`t really seen the purpose of the thing in the first place.
It`s not the new laptop. It`s the new book.
But i do think apple is overhyped not that it doesent work just doesent do things particuarly better then the competition either. This is from all my non tech savvy mates who own apple products simply because its apple.
I have no problem creative media people who need mac`s etc having them but for your average user buy a laptop be a thousand pound cheaper just because you dont get a apple logo on the back. Same said for alienware comps your spending more for a logo....
@obhwfgirl--OH BOY do I agree with you. I adore my iPhone. Ive had it since Christmas and already it helps run my life. I`m usually very disorganized and there seems to be an app for everything I need help with. No problems with anything, so far. This guy can shove his sign up/down somewhere... :P
I`ve tried at least 3 different smartphones as a way of keeping myself organized. They were all too difficult to navigate and input info (like tasks and events). I also tried paper planners but nothing ever stuck. I have an iPod touch now and it`s like a breath of fresh air -- I`m finally able to keep track of my life. I don`t have to adapt to the interface; it adapts to me. Apple is the only product on the market that does that and does it *well*.
Agreed, tenfold agreed.
Here is a newer verison of it: http://reviews.cnet.com/tablet-pcs/acer-...
The screen flips around so you can use it like a tablet, but also has a whole keyboard and mouse. It probably has windows 7 on it now-a-days.
Can you give me a link? Because the device you`re talking about sounds pretty good, seriously, I am not trying to trip you up, I genuinely want to see this.
What I am saying is that you`re talking about two separate devices. I, for one would not want a tablet running software it was not designed for. Honestly, why are people this bloody-minded?
And it`s old technology too.
Yeah, exactly, basically a laptop, `cept harder to use, not really a `Tablet` in the same sense.
HP Slate: Windows Mobile 7JooJoo: JooJoo OSNotion Ink Adam: AndroidDell Mini 5: AndroidArchos 7 Android: Android
Archos 9 is the only tablet which runs Windows 7, and I assume that has a keyboard on it.
You`re thinking of touchscreen computers, that is a completely different device.
I guess I could just let people be idiots? In a way, that`s fun too.
I sure don`t. If someone wants to waste their money on a computer that, in your opinion, is inferior to another, why do you care?
How about we spend our time debating topics that actually cause detriment to each others lives?
Mac vs PC debates FTL.
This is why PCs are better.
I am commenting because I think more people should know the truth.
Why do you care so much? If you don`t want it, don`t buy it. Its not like Apple is killing babies or something. You don`t see me attacking Microsoft...
If it comes from their store, they control it. They can take it away from you whenever they want. It also means you can`t share it with anyone.
Thus, all the claims made in the above sign are true.
"NO SHARING MUSIC OR BOOKS"This only applies to stuff bought on iTunes. Who actually buys music from iTunes, anyways?
"NO INSTALLING APPS FROM THE WEB"Two of the applications I have open, Firefox and Transmission were downloaded straight off the web...
"WE CAN REMOTELY DISABLE YOUR APPS AND MEDIA"This also only applies to stuff from iTunes. And only for files that are "rented". They don`t hack into your computer or anything; the file just deletes itself.
Also, what kind of a loser has time to stand out there all day with a sign? Someone seems a little bit obsessed...
... if that is true, Apple is worse than even I thought o_O;
Did anyone also notice that this "notebook replacement" does not give the user internet access through WiFi - you MUST have a wireless phone plan with a data plan.
Does this make sense to anyone?
Same here. It`s like they became the exact thing they were warning against in the 1980`s.
Apple User since 1979 here. Most of that sign IS true. Just because I like Macs doesn`t mean I`m blind and stupid.
I personally have both a Mac and a PC. And I can say that Macs are not any more special than PCs.
I can tell you`re a Mac user.
Those "chumps" who actually pay for things and participate in the market make it possible for companies to exist and produce the software you steal, so try to be a little nicer.
The only thing a Mac has going for it is that nobody wants to hack them:
"Oh noes!! Somebody hacked my iMac!! However will I photoshop my pictures now?!?!?!"
I`m a professional graphic designer and front-end programmer. I`m a PC all the way.
But heck, i need my games too, so im not completely lost
Software is like sex, its better when its free. Welcome to Ubuntu, the future says hello!
...GO LINUX! Or something.
I have learnt from the most awesome knowlage of Maddox.
Those Mac-Pc commericals make me want to beat them over the head with their own iPad.
I`m a PC and proud of it.
Somehow i missed that at first. Seriously... who cares about being able to share music from one ipad to another?
<cue mass uprising of Pro-`free` music supporters...>
No free software? The Kernel is free. Yes as in GNU. and as in $$. And there are plenty of other softwares that are open as well.
No installing apps from web? Sure, on the iphone only... so long as you don`t jailbreak it anyway...
No sharing music or books? Well, yeah, you can... (almost) all the music in iTunes is DRM free - and the books just started to exist like this month. BESIDES sharing the copyrighted stuff is illegal anyway... so go protest that to the gov`t.
As far as the remote admin of apps and media? Doubt it... especially not with DRMfree music...
What exactly is going on here? Not saying that apple is the best company ever, but please, at least spread FUD that`s true. A lot of the same could be said for Windows - and it still wouldn`t be 100% accurate.
Can`t really speak against linux on these points though...
