It may convert into $2800, but that doesn`t mean it`s worth the equivalent of $2800 of goods in Zimbabwe.

Erm, no, it is worth nowhere near $2800, not $28`000, not even if it is the fourth revalued Zimbabwean dollar which is unlikely.

Seriously, take a look at Zimbabwean inflation, link to the dollar too

Ok, seriously, you guys, talking about how much it is worth is pointless.

It degrades in value by the HOUR. Seriously, here is a list of all countries, listed by inflation rate. Link.

Whilst the second worst country in the WORLD, (Ethiopia) is struggling to survive at 45%, Zimbabwe has an inflation rate at 15 BILLION %.

Currency conversion rates are pointless for Zimbabwe, besides the "official" rate which the government artificially maintains there`s the black market rates, which the country actually runs on and are drastically different. Last time I was out Z$1 mil was about £2.50, but that that`s likelye to have changed quite a lot.

Yeah, it really depends which day that picture was taken for how much it`s worth. If for example that picture was taken on 26 July 2006 it would be worth $18.

On January 1st 2009 it would have been worth $0.00000000000000000000001

Based on wikipedia, that particular dollar was only available between 2007 and 2008. The government fixed the currency during that time and it was worth $50.11 before July 2007 and 31 cents after July 2007 until it was discontinued.

They got up to $1,000,000,000,000 notes before the government enforced a ban on inflation. And those of you saying it`s a lot of money, their money has deflated drastically in the past few years, since the government got involved.

No, the reason it isn`t worth much is because its got a picture of a cow pooping out blue squares with crosses on them right next to a steaming pile of Zimbabwe Democracy At Work, and the most exciting thing they can think of to put on it artistically is a Rock, like 99.99% of the other countries in the world have lying on the ground. Maybe they put the rock on there because its the only thing in the country thats still worth something, I dunno.

How many people here know that Zimbabwe was once called Rhodesia? It was run by a white minority, and they actually exported food. Then the world demanded that they have democratic elections and imposed crippling sanctions till they agreed.

Well, they got their "democracy" -- Mugabe style: one man, one vote, one time. Robert Mugabe got elected by telling the people that the only reason the whites had all the wealth is that they had stolen it from the blacks, and he would take it back, which he did. He confiscated all the white-owned farms and gave them to his supporters. They had neither the expertise nor the ambition to run them, and the farms all went to ruin. Now their economy is in shambles, the people are starving, and the country has become one of the most oppressive police states on the planet -- their brutality limited only by their incompetence.

But hey, it sure beats white minority rule, doesn`t it?

This is for example (according to wikipedia)

the worth of 100 billion ZWD not so long ago, before the dropping of zeroes that took place before the droppingof zeroes I was talking about in my previous post.

Right now it`s like 1 USD = 600 ZWL, but that`s fairly new, they`ve also changed code several times, ZWD -> ZWN -> ZWL
