APPLE-FORMED FOR YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
moefreak, that`s awesome.
Seriously, I`m wondering just how many people are actually going to spend about $130 per month just to put that thing online. It looks nice and looks like it will work with current apps but I don`t think anyone but early adopters are going to go for it.
Honestly, if you`re not impressed, just don`t buy it. The internet doesn`t care about your irrational hatred of everything Apple.
As for the iPad, I like the concept, but I would have preffered to see it with a real OS. If I hadn`t had a laptop, I would probably use it for surfing in bed/doing work at school. It`s pretty hot.
If this is like an itouch but bigger, i want to see the nexus one but bigger, with a CD player
The only good things I have to say about other Apple products is that they are pretty, their interfaces are well thought out and their marketing is epic.
My laptop can do everything any stupid app can do and much more. Maybe not with cool transition animations and fancy multi touch technology, but I definitely prefer function over form when it comes to a computer. This barely even qualifies as a computer.
Idk, seems very gimmicky. I hate typing on a touch screen. Seems like a toy for some people and useful for even less people.
LOL where the f uck have you been? ebooks and netbooks have been a HUGE success.
Its cool for the 20-something yuppie fresh out of college so he can get modern tech-cred with all his grad school buddies. But for anyone else, get a damn laptop.
The Ipad is probably going to be a huge hit, primarily because of all the people out there who believe they "need" something like this.
Why not buy a laptop? More power, more memory, more practical.
Don`t take me to be an apple hater though, I`ve recently bought an Iphone, and it`s the best phone I`ve ever owned. I just really dislike the idea behind this product.
That`s nowhere near being true. It lacks a lot of the functionality of a laptop. No keyboard, extremely low processing power, poor graphics in comparison, extremely small display, a non-standard format deliberately created to ensure customers don`t get a free choice of what to run on it, limited connectivity, limited storage capacity, no upgrading possible, relatively expensive...it is inferior to a laptop in every way except weight (and a small laptop is hardly heavy).
Not being able to stand up by itself is far and away the least important drawback of this device, not least because it`s the only one that can be fixed. They can sell you an istand for your ipad. Of course, you`d need to buy a new ibag that will carry both the ipad and the istand. Of course, the istand and the ibag will also be over-priced. Of course ipeople will buy them anyway.
However, that doesn`t mean that it`s a good product. It`s still a crap product, but it will be well made and extremely well marketed and that`s enough. `i` is a very successful fashion brand, successful enough to carry something that combines the disadvantages of a laptop with the disadvantages of a handheld and has the advantages of neither.
Yes. However:The I-Phone was just a phone.The I-Pod was just an MP3 player.
I like it, I`m considering getting one, but not for any of the reasons listed in this video.
I vote it will be a moderate success, not like the iPhone or iPod, but still a success.
Feel free to read this thread, then look online for old threads when the iPhone and iPod first came out. ;)
So do I, it demonstrated to you what a crappy computer you have. Mine just works.
thank god you arent in business, I see a huge market for all of those
did you even visit the link? how can you claim to know the CPU speed w/o seeing the cost (blatantly splattered on the screen)...
my favorite part about the price "unbelievable price", yeah it is unbelievable you`d charge that much.
we`ll compare the 32gb models to be fairiPod touch - $299 - wifiiPad - $599 - wifiiPhone - $499 - wifi & 3giPad - $729 - wifi & 3g
yes, its a larger screen, but its no longer a mobile device, plus the iPhone has the benefit of being *gasp* a phone...albeit a crappy one, still a phone.
I don`t know which is sadder (more sad?)....that sheeple will flock to it or that I know someone personally who will
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTzhXMbOW... Seriously. That came out years ago...
I want one.
this is a product only rich losers would buy in an atempt to show off. no one with any sense would even consider buying it.
$500 will get you a reasonably decent small laptop that will be greatly superior.
"Write an email"...without a keyboard. Touchscreens are abysmal for typing because they lack (ironically) a sense of touch.
I was thinking the same thing, wyllups.
However, it will probably be ages until it`s available on 3G in the UK.
Also, any company referring to a product as "magical" is bound to lose a certain degree of gravitas.
look, apple again is stealing someone else`s idea, mixing in slightly more stuff, and claiming it original. they`re just mixing the iPod touch with Amazon`s book reader.
what would suck is if the software sucked for books. imagine it can`t keep bookmarks for more than one book, or at all
Short answer, No.Long answer.
**Sarcastically referring to a laptop**
Q. Will it replace my laptop?A. No, my laptop does a lot more, a lot faster, a lot better, around the house. And if I want all those things when I`m out and about, I`m not going to be carrying a clipboard sized thing with me, I`d rather have an iTouch or iPhone (which I don`t, because they don`t do enough).
Overall, its really hard to see how Steve expects this to (a) replace or (b) enhance my current computing experience. And if it does neither of them, its a big Fail.
Start calling it the Newton 2010. Everything the iPad does, with the exception of video, was in the original Newton, at least in concept. The iPad will join the original Newton before long if it isn`t upgraded to be a REAL computer.
MAH KEYZ!1!!1?Nah, its k.
Seriously, does anybody need this?
The screen on the iphone/itouch is very crack resistant.
"I think Corydoras is joking. This is obviously sarcasm, he sounds too much like the stereotypical Apple-tard."
anyone else see the irony in this?
You are full of yourself too.. or is someone else ehm.. full inside you? Of course they can be prouf of themselves.. the people at apple did something that, as the video explains, nobody else can do because apple brings all the technology in place on their own.. they don`t rely on products from a different producer for every part.. theirs fit to each other and therefor can be smaller to achieve the same performance than others while being more efficient.. perfect deal for a century where electronics don`t need to be bulk and huge to be cool.. it has become a lifestyle product.. live with it or die hunting bugs crawling on your knees through your room-sized giant computer
You mean like beepers and cell phones were cool toys?
Primetimekin`s Wild Prediction: Every high school student will have one of these (not necessarily apple but something similar to this), in 10 years. And not as a toy, but as another tool in school
Looks perfect for using while sitting on the couch while watching tv, just lounging around, and I can use a keyboard if I have to.
... another useless piece of crap from Apple.
Why shouldn`t I buy a netbook, that is, you know, a computer that I can type on?
I wish it was named iSlate. And I wish it had a different UI closer to Mac OS than iPhone and also a different hardware design to differentiate itself from the iPhone. But I kinda want one. I could definitely see myself chillaxin in my room watching episodes of Bleach or Facebooking and whatnot.
