We"ve researched this, and we think these are actual historical artifacts. If so, damn, those Germans were awful.

*Christ*mas is a *Christ*ian holiday for the birth of *Christ*. Jews don`t recognize Jesus as the Christ. Think before you comment.

that was taken from an article http://www.forteantimes.com/features/art... here, about how the nazi party tried to reinvent xmas as a party propaganda machine back in the war days.

hai Kyle:

Reinventing Christmas
If the National Socialists were divided amongst themselves as to just what form religion in the Third Reich should take, then Christmas was both a proving ground for their varying ambitions and a site of conflicting ideas and contradictory impulses.

Christmas, of course, was one of the most important dates in the calendar for German Christians of both Confessions; but for the Nazis it also offered a priceless opportunity to capitalise on a festival that traditionally brought people and families together and to overlay it with meanings central to a new conception of the German state.

As one party functionary, Hannes Kremer, put it: “In our efforts to deepen National Socialist forms of behaviour in the area of rituals and ceremonies, we have two main tasks. On the one hand, we must create new ideas and new customs, and on the other hand it is necessary to adjust those customs that have grown out of the people to the â€

"This wouldn`t be totally idiotic if it weren`t for the fact that:
A) The religious symbol you`re referring to is Hindu and Hindus don`t celebrate Christmas
B) These ornaments are red with the swastika inside a white circle- which is what you will find if you look at the flag of the Nazi Party."

Also, when these balls are hung the swastika will be at an angle and as far as I know, all the religions that have used the symbol have used it straight.

If these were made recently, this is pretty awful. If these were made while the nazis were in power, this really isn`t any different than someone putting American Flag ornaments on their tree today.

the nazi`s switched the direction of the symbol actually. so you can tell

I`d buy that kaleotera except for the fact that it`s not just the swastika. It`s a swastika inside a white circle surrounded by red. Swastika+Circle+Nazi Colors make this a full on Nazi symbol, unlike the swastika wrapping paper on here a couple weeks ago.

Premierwondr,

Catbarf is right. the only difference between these and the American flag on a ornament is a matter of hindsight.

It`s our hindsight at the atrocities which that symbol came to stand for that makes the difference. Cat understands the meaning of the word perfectly.

Ah, don`t you guys know your history? The swastika pre-dates the Nazi`s flagrant use of the symbol.

Davymid was on the right track, but it wasn`t only the Buddhist and Hindus that used that particular symbol. The Buddhist and Hindu swastika was usually formed counter-clockwise, the Nazi adaptation has the "arms" going clockwise.
The symbol was also used in various pre-Christian European folklore.

For a second I thought they would be old locks of hair or skin covered balls. I was thankful just to see a swastika.

I think it`s worth mentioning that during the Nazi rule, everyone was *required* to show support for them. Informers were everywhere and not showing support openly enough could get you and your family taken away in the night, never to be seen again. So many Germans who weren`t Nazis would have displayed Nazi stuff simply because they were scared not to.

Mreh, I don;t really see this as `awful`. I`m not supporting the nazi`s or anything, but if those are actual historical artifacts then they would be equivalent to having a modern ornament with an American flag on them.

Of course, if they are new, then it is horrible :P

yea ur right the only difference between the United States and the Third Reich was hindsight..jesus christ man you`re pathetic and completely over exaggerating.
You do understand that the number of Jews killed by the Nazis is greater than the number of Vietnamese, Koreans, and Arabs killed.
its not hindsight and im curious if you even know what hindsight means

"If so, damn, those Germans were awful."

Hurr durr. Patriots had patriotic Christmas tree ornaments.

The ONLY difference between those and ornaments with, say, the American flag is a matter of hindsight.

Some songs for the children.

Göring has only got one ball
Hitler`s [are"> so very small
Himmler`s so very similar
And Goebbles has no balls at all

Hitler has only got one ball,
Göring has two but very small,
Himmler is somewhat sim`lar,
But poor Goebbels has no balls at all.

Hitler: he had but one left ball,
Mussolini: he had none at all,
Stalin: he was three-ballin`,
And that`s the dictator`s rise and fall!

Hitler has only got one ball,
The other is on the kitchen wall,
His mother, the dirty bugger,
Chopped it off when he was small.

There are more variant , just get them here:
