All we hear about are people screwing over people--very rarely do we read about the little guy doing something great...

It kinda makes you think that there might still be some good left in the world. If I were to own a business, that is the type of thing I would do...

I love it, but the crappy part is that there`s probably a bunch of employed tight wad jerk offs who would take advantage of this.

"It`s nice to know that lazy slugs living off my tax dollars can get help finding jobs, so i wont have to pay for their beer, cigarettes, and Plan B."
If you live in the US, way more of your tax dollars are in the pockets of Wall Street executives right now.

""Hey, I walk past that place often! Portland, Oregon!"
THAT`S HERE!?"

I`ve never seen that place (I looked it up and it`s in NW, and I`m rarely ever in that part of town), but I wonder if they`d have cleaned my suit for free for my interview for the grad school at UofP.

Also, opiebreath, if you`re in Portland you`re not in the Midwest.

You know, I`d like to think that most people aren`t going to pretend to get a free cleaning for two reasons:

1) There`s the chance someone`ll find out and then you`ll be known as the selfish, good-for-nothing prick. Reputation and social perception are the cornerstones of morality.

2) You probably have more than 1 suit and taking only 1 suit to one place and then all your other clothes to another place is too much work!

"I`d say more than half of all welfare recipients are perfectly able bodied and make no attempt to find work."

Happy bubble officially burst. :C

@CaptainPat

Sweden actually but point taken, I suppose my view is skewed because I live in a tiny country where unemployment is much more noticeable so I can`t really comment on the US.

Hemtroll, I`m guessing the UK isn`t full of lazy fat-asses leaching off the system like the US is then. I`d say more than half of all welfare recipients are perfectly able bodied and make no attempt to find work. And the worst part is they squander thier welfare checks on beer and cigarettes, and keep popping out more kids so they`ll get payed more.

Thats pretty decent of them. I love small scale shops.
Screw the Wal-marts of the world.
My parents have a small business and they give out Turkey gift vouchers to their well-known customers (regulars) that need the extra help around the holidays. Its not embarrasing like charity handouts. Just friendly. When you`re a small business, in a small town... you just know who need a little extra love round the holidays.

"how many people that have jobs are going to take advantage of this and just say they have an interview???"

thats the sad thing about our society. someone reaches out to help and everyone takes advantage. it`d be one thing if this was a huge chain and made hand over fist money (like a bank) but this guy probably personally owns the equipment and is reaching out and getting taken.

I wonder how many bums get free clean clothes.

that probably makes up for the brats like my cousin who charge every item you bring in as a jacket/coat, regardless of what it is, then have their mom come up to fold everything for them.

""Momentarily", because it was probably less that an hour after that sign went up that more than one employed person tried to get a free cleaning."

Yup. That`s more like the humanity we know.

I agree CaptainPat, it`s good to know that all those lazy people who couldn`t even keep their jobs in a failed economy won`t be taking advantage of a society they helped fund, too bad we can`t just kick them all out on the streets, huh?
