Can I say I`m not suprised?
A lot of people view them as children`s books (they were written for young adults, but quite frankly that`s an insult to everyone`s intelligence). To be properly catagorized, they`d need to be in the trash bin.

Fair enough. I was under the impression that if you are aged under 18, you are legally considered a child (you are in my country anyway - sorry I know that some will be insulted by this because I thought I was a man when I was 16, and I even moved out from my parents home and supported myself - so it`s their classification, not mine). I would be surprised to see anyone who was older than a teenager being interested in Twilight. I guess after that, it`s all subjective......

Breaking Dawn is a pretty f*cked up book for kids to read then. I`m twenty one, and I found Disturbing...
"it was a blood-curdling shriek of agony. The horrifying sound cut off with a gurgle, and her eyes rolled back into her head. Her body twitched, arched in Rosalie`s arms, and then Bella vomited a fountain of blood."

I`ll keep these books in mind for light reading to my children.

agreed, harry potter is defiantly better. but still stupid... twilight and harry potter are all on a level of complete retardness. but harry potter is on a higher level then twilight.
the only reason though, that i hate twilight so much is because how mainstream it is. before it would be people who were dark and just liked the idea of a vampire romance. but now its just because one half of the world likes it, so the rest does too.

`Where else would you put them? Wiccan is a religion, just as much as Christianity or Islam or Judaism or Hindu or any other religion.`

Like I said, piss off the zealots. ie. the christians who believe wicca is evil, and that christianity is the only true religion (closed minded b*stards). We were forbidden to put them under religion. But no one said we couldnt fill up the shelves next to it with them. But too often we found that they were pushed onto the floor or turned upside down and facing back to front.

I read this before what your were responding to. So, since I have never read the Twilight books, I didn`t know the baby was eating it`s way out. Given the alternate meaning of the phrase "eat out", please try to understand the horror I felt as I read your comment.

"Twilight sucks" is an opinion. No matter how strongly you believe it, that can`t be a fact because how much it sucks can`t be quantified. Your inability to accept any opinion apart from your own is why you are the cancer that`s killing the internet.

I hate the whole twilight drama - yes it is crappy literature, does that mean it cannot be entertaining - heck no!

I like Ho Hos AND I like homemade chocolate cakes. Does the cake have a deeper, more developed flavor with the subtle undertones of secret ingredients - yes it does! and YES that makes the chocolate cake `better` but it doesn`t make the ho ho any less awesome when I am high...

I know I know twilight is TERRIBLE but, I`m still going to see the movies and I still think edward is kind of hot. I`m not going to lie! I like what I like.
Though the last book really and truly was excruciatingly awful, so much that I couldn`t finish it. I have no idea how they are going to make the last movie. Stephanie Meyer needs to re-write that book. HOW the HELL are they going to make a movie about bella getting pregnant with a vicious vampire mutant and then having it 2 weeks later and then shoot edward biting open the sac because nothing else can penetrate vampire flesh.....did that make sense??? good grief.

then Jacob falls in love with bella`s baby

I liked the books because of the WAY they were written out, you know? Like the wording and just the style of the author. Plot-wise, it`s crap. The movies are total crap coz they got an UGLY guy for Edward, Bella can`t act worth poo, and without the words making it good, it drating sucks.

Mr_Chubbles: I took the time to read Twilight. I read them with an open mind. I was not at all impressed. I`ve read children`s books that were better written than Twilight. The only reason why they are so popular is because of the "overenthusiastic fangirls" who read them and drool about Jacob and Edward and the other "sparkly" vampires because they`re everything they expect in a guy.

I`ve read the books. They`re alright, the first two atleast. The last two were so laughable I had to stop reading them. But really, the thing that has ruined it for me is the fans. Get over it! Edward will probably never meet you, he is much older than most of the fangirls, and is probably just as a hotheaded jerk as the rest of the celebrities. The books are FICTIONAL! Jeez...and vampires dont sparkle!

Mr.Chubbles is a female (13-17) talking about how great twilight is (on the internet) and calling every single person who dislikes it an idiot....

The EXACT criteria for a fangirl.

I have, in fact, read the first two books.

    They made me vomit.

I hadn`t vomitted for twelve years previous.

Burn in hell, SM... Burn in hell.

I like the Twilight series, but I`m not one of the obsessive fangirls. I don`t view them as children`s books, though. Young adult/teen fiction, yes.

Mr_Chubbles: "The books were wonderful (even though the plot was crap)"

Excuse me, how exactly is it possible that a book is great, when it has a crap plot?

....Maybe it`s just cause I work in a bookshop. But I looked at this photo and was like....yeah? Your point being? They`re in the kids section in my shop too. Are they being put in the biography section in other shops or something?

Because I genuinely hoped it would be better, maybe even good enough to redeem SM.

    I wasn`t, and it didn`t.

I hate twilight. and i don`t care how it sounds, but if you enjoy it, i honestly can`t say you`re someone i`d like to spend time with. i have not met a single twilight-liking person i can get along with. if you enjoy such horrible literature you have failed as a human being.

Do yourselves a favour kids. Forget Twilight pish, read the Grapes of Wrath by Steinbeck. Not as an English project, just as a book. Melted my head. And as a European, it`s hard for me to admit that an American author is the sauce.

    Steinbeck. That`s all. Read him.

I work at a book store, and i will have to say that is correctly placed. Granted it may not be the best selling placement in the store, but none-the-less correct. A products placement is dictated by the publisher who has an agreement with the author. The twilight saga is dictated to be placed in the Teen/young adult section. In many stores, like the one pictured above, teen is a part of the childrens area.

i dont get whats with the huge vampire craze thats goin on at the moment, i bet none of them have read "dracula", "carmilla" or "the vampyre". and have you seen how the people who were in the twilight films have all brought out autobiographies, it makes me sick.

I completely agree with disliking Twillight, i tried to read it but the second book... didn`t finish the 1st chapter. I just didn`t get the joke about it being in the kids section, when in most bookshops, kids and teens are sorta lumped together.

LOL When I`ve decided to give in buy the saga (just to understand what was all the buzz about)I went to Branes&Noble and started to look in the Fiction section...but I was having trouble so I asked for help. The clerk`s answer: "ohh...actually this book is in the Children`s book section". LOL
