    FNKY, as far as i can tell he;s holding it by the scruff of the cat`s neck which is evolutionarily designed to not hurt the cat.

    The scruff of the neck is designed not to hurt KITTENS. Adult cats are much heavier, and holding them that way can cut off their airflow.

    The cat looks relatively young, maybe a couple months old. It still could hurt him. I wonder of PETA had a heart attack about this?

    LightShaded, you are spot on. Not only would I carry the cat like that, I`d be swinging it around like it were a goddam bullwhip, slamming it`s limp body into anything solid I could find.

    Who gives a rats balls if that disgusting, filty animal doesn`t like being held like that? Once you snap its neck, I don`t think it`ll feel a thing.

    Cats = Suck

    Pmarren, you`re taking it a little over the line here.
    Does harming animals incapable of defending themselves well against you make you feel good? Have you been bullied as a child?
    Stop the tough guy talk and reflect.

    You`re the kind I wouldn`t like living in my neighbourhood.

    P.s.@ Toppunk. What do you mean? All animals have some sort of mechanism for defending themselves. Hopefully enough to defend against that sick MF in the comments below me however.

    Not everyone is up on their cat handling skills. I doubt that justifies the statement that he dies "a slow death for holding that cat like that".

    Sense of perspective maybe?

    So you wouldn`t pick up a cat like that if there was a possibility that it would scratch the crap out of you?
    ASPCA picks potentially harmful cats up that way so that doesn`t happen.
    BTW, carrying a cat that way isn`t inhumane, it isn`t that much different from how a mother cat picks up its kittens in its teeth-ridden mouth. So are momma cats inhumane as well?

    Actually picking a cat up by the scruff of the neck like that releases endorphines into the cats system making them less likely to rips you to shreds

    ok yes you ppl do have it right that it dose calm a cat down when you pick them up like that but only when they are a kitten or really young as the cat ages the little flap of skin grows out with the rest of its body you can actualy choke a cat like that D:

    I don`t get where people are getting the "it cuts the airflow off" thing from... I work in an animal clinic and this is how you are trained to pick up a cat if it is hissing and biting. Normally you put your arm under the cat and push your index finger between the front legs, but for mean cats you scruff them and usually grab their back paws so they can`t kick. Older cats sometimes still fight after scruffing so you want to hold their back paws, but kittens like this one usually won`t fight back.

    thats why that skin on thier necks is so baggy..it will NOT hurt them one bit. the mothers carry them like this as kittens, and its still just as safe as an adult.
