Epic? Maybe not, but better than waving a stick and watching lights...

wow...that looks like soooo much fun! Those guys were probably training for months to hone their skills(jumping dude was kickass. I`m surprised all of those heavy guys endured all of that running and slashing. Good for them. Now....where did I put my battle axe?...

I would rather have my right arm cut off than watch that stupid, boring and amateur video! Let me tell you something, that trashy video, had
nothing to do with The Lord of the Rings, nor will it ever come close! I think, it`s closer to Mel Gibson`s epic movie, Brave Heart. I loved that movie but again it`s just closer to mimicing
that video, but it`s not exact.

"You`ve seen Lord of the Rings. We live it!"
Quote from the Dagorhir website.
Anyway, larping has to do with made up magic spells and damage points or whatever. This isn`t it.

Pfft, I do that all the time. My pal Jethriel makes padded weapons as a part time job. We go through a lot.

And yes, it hurts. And yes, it`s fun.

And, no, this isn`t LARPing. Well, okay it IS live action role playing, but it`s not LARPing in the traditional "LIGHTNING BOLT!" and magic sense.

Dude. A medievil battle reanactment using padded swords and shields. I`M THERE.

At first I thought it was a Scadian war but the lack of full body armour says otherwise.

For those who say the weapons don`t hurt, you obviously haven`t done it before. They may be foam but they leave massive welts and bruises.

I love the guy who made the epic slow-mo jump and then after he landed got smacked on his bottom and fell over.

Not that I`m against this sort of activity. It looks fun. Just that people who often attempt to do something completely awesome end up faceplanting. Lol.

This isn`t LotR, and this definitely isn`t LARPing. LARPing is role playing, where while playing, players assume the roles of like an elf mage or some crap like that. This is Dagorhir, a game based on medieval fighting styles. It is really fun. Think you`re better or cooler than those that play it? Feel free. You clearly are a much better person for having fun by sitting in front of a computer trolling internet forums than people outside getting exercise playing a game they find fun.

I`m not a fan of Lord of the Rings but it would be fun to be in one of these :)

This isn`t true LARPing, it`s better. LARPing includes shouting "Lighting Bolt!" and expecting it to actually work. This looks like fun.

Sure, a big scrum like this is fun for the novelty, but I have a feeling it would get old pretty quickly. Take a few hits, fall down, get up touch a cone, and get back into the action.

10 v. 20 is about optimal. Just enough bodies to run some tactics, and the battle lengths are just long enough to where you`re on the verge of bleeding out if the healer doesn`t find you during the fight.

oh common, foam? really... at least use something that can leave bruising, so when you hit em they stay down, instead of pretend they have some magic aura or some poo and continue fighting...

1) This has nothing to do with LOTR
2) It looks like fun, but I would never do it. Or rather I would be operating the water-balloon trebuchet.
3) Yea. Harry Potter sucks.

I`ve gotten some pretty kickass injuries from LARPing. The best part is how everyone gets back up and keeps going.

I had a friend in Highschool who played football but had never LARPed, So I took him. It was great. He got tackled at one point by like four people and then got angry. He walked around not fighting until he found me and told me that he didn`t like it because the game didn`t stop when someone got tackled. I hit him with my sword. It was great.

The best part was, the next day he was telling his friends about all the ass kicking he did while
LARPing... When what he did was get tackled once, hit a few times and then went and sat off to the side and watched. I love jocks.
