Good music evokes (not provokes) GOOD emotions. Punk is just an irritant.
If you can remember the 50`s, you were square. If you can remember the 60`s, you weren`t there. If you can remember the 70`s, you wish now you could forget. If you can remember the 80`s, you`re as sad as sad can get.
Second, music of the 70s, except for disco, which SUCKED, was great UNTIL punk. Prog rock (Yes, ELP, Genesis, Kansas, King Crimson), fusion, (Mahavishnu Orchestra, Larry Coryell, Chick Corea, Passport), and AOR (Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Mountain) were in their heyday. Then we got punk, which wasn`t music at all; it was anti-music. The worse they sang and played, the more they sold. Music didn`t recover for nearly 10 years until speed metal (Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai), prog metal (Queensryche, Fates Warning, Dream Theater), and neo prog (Marillion, IQ, Pendragon) came along.
I play guitar, and it`s not worth my time to listen to musicians who aren`t at least better than I am. That`s why I NEVER listen to punk.
Regarding the post, I`ll have a smoothie! :-P
Yeah... the purpose is to soak up sweat, smell revolting and get up your nose in the other sense too. I haven`t met an unshaved woman in 15 years and I`m not wishing for the old days at all! Everything is SOOOO much nicer down there these days, you have no idea!
Hey, I`m Tasmanian - I *AM* my parents. Both of them.
More often than Americans in my experience
*scrolls down*OH GOD WHAT IS THAT THING GET IT AWAY FROM ME
Hair on women is distasteful if it`s thick in a place where men generally have more hair. Like on the lips, or on the arms, or on the back (though back-hair are disgusting on men as well). I must admit, I`ve never seen a woman with unshaved legs, so I can`t comment on the differences between gender there.
Hairy armpits are disgusting because they smell.
Hair on other places, like pubic hair, is equally thick on men and women. Therefore, it shouldn`t be disgusting other than from a purely cultural POV. And anyway, men shave their pubes as much as women do, so I don`t buy that "hair is manly" theory.
And just do debunk that silly myth once and for all:EUROPEAN WOMEN SHAVE AS WELL!
There`s no fear here, I just like a nice, smooth, freshly shaved/waxed snatch. :)
There is a general, though not all encompassing, aversion towards women with excessive body hair. A common explanation for this lies within gender roles and perception. Differences between men and women are highlighted as being attractive. Women tend to have longer necks, fuller lips, bigger hips, etc. and these traits are seen as attractive and preferable. Hair thickness also falls into this category. This is not the only explanation, though it is widely accepted. This is also not the only body hair preference in regards to women, though it is also more common.
*takes off hat*
I agree, it`s just hair. And much more so, I`d rather my lady be a lady than a shaved 12 year old. The latter is just weird, you weirdos.
It`s hair. You have it on your head. You have it in your pubic area. It`s the same material, and any anti-sexual connotation is purely cultural.
The apocalypse really IS coming...
