Batmanners> I`m against any hero worship of ANY president but the video that you posted here isn`t the same thing. That was 1. In a church and 2. They were praying for/blessing him not brainwashing school children with some crappy Obama Propaganda theater show.

The difference I see here that upsets me is that in church you choose to put your children there and you`re choosing that message for your children, in a public school system you don`t get to choose what your children are exposed to and when a teacher starts bringing politics into the classroom that is wrong. I know it`s inevitable that with any human being acting as a teacher some of their opinion will come in to play but that was blatant political brainwashing.

Be it Bush, Obama, Democrat or Republican politics have NO place in a grade school. VERY bad form on the teacher`s part and I would be surprised if there weren`t a few parents who were LIVID about this.

wait... obama is a black dude? gee i havnt heard.
get over it, guys. forget which minorities supported him in the polls, because hes president now. love him or make fun of him just the same as you did every other president.the controversy is driving me nuts. i hardly know what the guy stands for, because all i hear about is his skin colour.

It was okay when they did it for Bush, but not Obama?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGOZpF9nx...

It`s all irrelevant. If they are smart, they will realize what they are doing eventually. If not, you will have another Georges W. bush in 16 years, when idiotic retards can vote again.

Wnt, correct me if I`m wrong, but I believe Clinton got more of the "black" vote, as you so eloquently put it.

"Whites. Stop feeling guilty. If you haven`t discriminated against blacks, you don`t have to feel guilty about other whites who did decades ago."

Wow, you twisted that into something quite unique.

Reminds me of Jesus Camp. Anyone else see that? The part where the kids pray in tongues and pray to a cardboard cut out of George Bush? Of course this is much worse though... since it`s not insane religious fanatics doing it but which one will Fox News cover?

you know why racism is still happening? because of stuff like this. people can`t just say "no one gives a sh*t what color you are." they have to keep reminding everyone of our `differences` so no one can forget. i am certainly aware that yes, there are racist pr*cks out there, but i`d like to believe that most people have gotten over themselves.

it doesn`t matter what color skin you have. if you`re not good at something, give up (and stop brainwashing the children).

Of course this is because he`s black. Blacks are in ecstasy over having "one of their own" in charge. Many of them view politics as us vs. whitey. Obama got 96% of the black vote. Blacks on the whole have no problem idolizing Obama.

And then you have the guilt-ridden whites who feel all fuzzy and warm inside that we finally got our first black president (what are his policies again?). They`re too afraid to be called racist to question blacks` deification of Obama.

It`s really a messed up situation we`re in. It seems like any questioning of Obama is suspected as racist. Joe Wilson has been mentioned in so many editorials on racism in the past month it`s ridiculous.

Blacks. Get over yourselves. We`re all EQUAL in America. Even though your ANCESTORS suffered in the past, you do not hold special privileges over the rest of us.

Whites. Stop feeling guilty. If you haven`t discriminated against blacks, you don`t have to feel guilty about other whites who did decades ago.

Oh god... I didn`t think schools could legally impose a political bias on children. Guess they can.
Heh... "guess they can" sounds like "yes we can."
...
Anyways that video was just disturbing. Don`t take me as an Obama-hater, but this is just horrible.
"Change has come" -- yeah we`re just suddenly SOOOO much better off now than we were less than a year ago. Right, so much change has happened.

I normally think comparisons of Obama to Hitler or Stalin are exaggerated, but if they were goose-stepping this would look like Hitler`s Youth. If I were the parent of one of these children I would have some questions for the teacher who arranged this. I had to pledge allegiance to the flag in grade school, but I never had to pledge to Reagan.

This link is just wrong. It reminds me of the brainwashing that communist countries would perform on the upcoming generation. Obama is just a man (with many faults might I add). He is not God, nor should we worship him as if he were God.

The problem isn`t that they are acknowledging the great things Mr. Obama has done (whatever they are).

If they were to merely say.
"Thank you Obama for doing X!"
It wouldn`t be creepy at all.

The problem is that they are still quoting all this "Hope/Change" BS which forces them to view the President in positive light, no matter what their natural opinions of him may be later on.

hell, JFK was a good president, harry truman was a good president, (no, i wasnt alive back then, but ask your parents, they`ll tell you)...they were great WHITE presidents and no one worshipped them like they were a piece of heavenly matter that came to "change" everything...goddamnit this irritates me in so many ways!

the president is just a REGULAR MAN, with some political skills that WE (the people) decided to put in charge of our nation! HE IS --NOT-- A GOD!!! neither is ANY other president!!

give me a break, i was spoonfed crap as a child, too. the thing is, you grow up and look at things differently. assuming these kids are not idiots, they will change their minds about obama if they decide they don`t like him. unless they are really stupid, not much harm can come from this.

Female 728
To the people who are defending this as expression of approval for the president, the problem is that these are children who likely wouldn`t have an opinion on Obama if they weren`t being told to love him. This isn`t a genuine expression of approval because it isn`t a reasoned opinion, but rather something that has been spoonfed to them. I don`t see anything wrong with expressing approval of Obama were it from someone who came to a reasoned position, but this is kind of disgusting as something that has been fed to children.

The question is, are we under the effects of his Cult of Personality, is he constantly on our minds? No, not yet anyways. But everyone would be wise just to take a little bit more notice.

And a comment on my picture. Its just to point out some hypocrisy, not to support religion in public schools.

I came across this picture and thought it was appropriate considering the discussion.

And no, it is not the end of the world that a bunch of teachers moronically decided to have their kids do this, but it is justification for alarm. Someone already mentioned, and I have in the past that Obama has a growing Cult of Personality, especially with the modern convenience of the internet.

CoP`s are designed to keep the figure on the people`s mind constantly. Mao and Stalin are great examples.

I have taken notice, and personally do not like the CoP that has grown around Obama. Most of it is independent third-party, but some of it is home-grown out of the White House. No other President has used the popular media as much as Obama once in Office. Its like a constant campaign season with this guy.

Anyone see the Daily show making fun of all this? Every time a president comes along people sing songs. And many of them are from when Obama was first elected. Quit cryin like little girls. Raise your kids to think for themselves and it wont matter than they song some stupid song in elementary school. I for one dont remember a single song from elementary school, and they have always been liberal. I didnt turn in to some bleeding heart tree hugger. You just make the hole party look bad when you whine about things like this.

Presidential worship goes both ways. When Bush was president, almost all of my family thought he was Jesus 2.0 in his 8 years. My cousins even have a cardboard cutout of Dubya himself in their house. And now with the messiah known as "Obama," I`m thinking there will be even more presidential worship.

all the videos i have seen kids singing about bush in were all taken in a very public atmosphere, i.e. on tv, these are all in the classroom, in a very personal setting, when kids should be learning math, science, history, art, ect... i mean "yes yes we can yes yes we can" they are singing obamas marching song. its sick.

Seriously, I thought this kind of stuff has been going on for ages, regardless of the status of the political spectrum.
