    @ SuperSmash

Obviously not, fathers are only allowed to shout drunken criticisms from across the house. True American values right there.

I got a Lionel train for Christman of 1998. I was little then, and hearing the "choo choo" freaked me out so much I ran for my room and stayed there. Pathetic, I know, but that`s how toddlers are like.

"Pluto IS a planet and those scientists don`t know what they`re talking about. *grumbles*"

If Pluto is a planet, then so are the other several "dwarfs" we have orbiting us, several of which are actually BIGGER than Pluto.

Look up "Eris," for instance. But we don`t go around calling that a planet, do we?

    > If Pluto is a planet, then...

NEITHER of you know what you`re talking about. When Pluto was first discovered it was the result of intense, careful, exacting scientific mathematical genius - no-one had ever seen it but the math proved it was there. So they discovered it. That SAME math proved beyond a doubt that there were NO other planets or bodies beyond Pluto, because then the math wouldn`t have worked out and it did. So anything you see, smell or imagine beyond Pluto is a figment of your imagination.

There are other objects of similar size at similar distance. The object that Simim23 mentioned, Eris, is further out than Pluto (and larger and more massive).

It`s there. It has been observed by astronomers. It is real. If reality does not match up with theory, then theory is wrong.

There are many objects beyond Pluto - look up Trans-Neptunian objects. Sedna is more than half the size of Pluto and it`s currently about 3 times further out.

Pluto was discovered by a young girl, who was a daughter of a astronomer, they let her name it after her favorite Disney cartoon character.

at least that`s what I remember being told in school, in either case, I don`t care.

Where did you go to school, Bullsh*t Academy for Utter Tripe? I would suggest you weren`t listening well, nobody would have told you that. The mathematical search for Pluto was well documented over a number of years.

OK a little further research - the Disney dog was named after the planet and the planet was named after the God of War. The name was suggested by an 11-yo girl, but she was not talking about the Disney dog because he wasn`t invented until months later, which she confirms in the above Wikipedia link.
