Especially if it"s found in your favorite restaurant. What do they mean by "unhygienic acts?"

The "other unhygenic acts" is most likley refering to females changing out their sanitary products during that time of the month.

I dont think it is a joke, stupid people who have sex on the mind just think it`s implying masturbation by that last bit. It`s eally there as an all inclusive phrase for in case someone didn`t wash their hands and was fiired, the institution is legally protected because they posted an all-inclusive sign.

people seem to be taking these things too seriously. the sign is obviously a joke about the last thing on the sign "other unhygenic acts" it could be seen to imply that the emloyees need to be reminded that after having a wank they maybe ought to wash their hands.

people need to lighten up and be juvenile. jeez.

Why would you not want to see this? Any restaurant I`ve worked in had the same sort of signs, it`s simply a reminder. Would you not want the people handling your food to wash their hands?

Also, microbes is one thing... But you don`t want to swallow the stuff that lives in your anus, or someone else`s. E coli doesn`t sound tasty now does it... And yeah, it is a habit you should get into. If there is an out break of whatever and it gets traced back to you are screwed.

It also depends on where you work. If there are kids or old people then you are at greater risk of killing someone. Food poisoning means your establishment is closed and investigated. Is it worth risking your rent or someone else`s just because you couldn`t be bothered to wash your hands? Nope.

@hi2pi Actually the better run places do have touch-less taps. Where I used to work the staff hand basin was turned on by pressing a lever with your knee, to turn it off you simply stopped applying pressure. So, the dirty tap problem is solved.

Is this what IAB has resorted to?
Posting images of signs which all public food places are forced to by law?
Unless I`m missing something, this really isn`t that interesting.

May as well post a picture of a deaf guy so we can all `work out what`s wrong with this picture`...

*sigh*

I worked long hours in my Ex`s cafe, it`s not OCD and its not overdone, its just a habit you get into in places like that, washing your hands every 5 mins. At least you SHOULD get into.

Pfft, what will a few extra microbes possible do? I`ve decided to protest society`s bacteria phobia by not washing my hands unless its absolutely necessary.

That`s nothing simim. You don`t even know OCD until you work at American Eagle. Gotta constantly straighten, fold, clean, etc. stuff that is already perfect. Plus you gotta fold stuff and put into piles only to have your boss decide it should actually be hung on hanger. I could keep going all day..

"Employees must be in a constant state of hand washing."

They are. Seriously, I have to wash my hands at LEAST 10-20 times an hour at work.

If I bus a table, gotta wash my hands.

If I`m about to put a lid on a to-go dish, gotta wash my hands.

If I touch my uniform in any way, gotta wash my hands.

If I touch my hair, face, or skin, gotta wash my hands.

If I pick up anything off the floor, gotta wash my hands.

Yea. Total OCD enforcement.

turning the spigot off after washing hands is an unhygienic act. touchless taps are the way to go.

This happens to be standard health and safety. Lots of "You shouldn`t do XYZ during work hours" type signs. Then if you are caught doing it regardless you are held responsible for your actions, more so than your boss.

What would you rather have? Your boss there every working hour giving you a running commentary on what you are doing wrong? Even more so than normal?

It`s the places without these signs I wouldn`t want to eat in.

Oh FFS grow up, the "atmos" the customer sees in a restaurant, cafe, etc is just an image portrayed while its open, once the doors are closed its like every other workplace, and a lot of people end up banging a work colleague on the nearest table sometime when the washing up`s done and the floors are swept. It happens.
