Or did they neglect to say that?
Actually, I just got it on DVR last night. I`ll probably watch it this weekend.
I did watch that clip you posted, and all I can say is that those idiots had obviously never been in a sword fight OR a gunfight. If you`re stupid enough to get within range of a sword, you pretty give up any advantage you ever had with your gun. At least one of them should have stayed out of his reach. Better yet, they could have -- should have -- just shot him from 10` (3m) away. They could easily have killed, maimed, crippled, or temporarily disabled him.
All things considered, I`d still rather have a gun in a sword fight than a sword in a gunfight.
i don`t know about you, but i sure as hell won`t be worrying about their safety as they try to break in and do who knows what. I`m trying to disable them as quickly as possible, if that means killing them, then so be it. I`m not going to waste time being "gentle"
best comeback ever
I think there should be a line. For instance, if someone burgled someones house and the occupier tied the burglar to a chair and tortured him for 2 weeks before decapitating him i would say he crossed a line. I think a home owner should be given the benefit of the doubt with regards to measures taken in self defense. I would with out question be prepared to stab someone (in the eyes) to render them incapable of attacking me, but i wouldnt finish them off, because there should be no need if youve disabled them sufficiently.
Clearly, OldOllie, you haven`t seen V for Vendetta.
When I was up in the Blue Ridge Valley with my grandfather for the week, I brought my favorite thing me: a decorative shortsword. It`s about 18 inches long and has a couple of dragon engravings on it. When a raccoon snuck into the house and raided the fridge, I slashed at it and delt a couple of nasty blows. It managed to run away and decided to leave us alone the rest of the week. I was forced to clen up the blood, however.
yes. If I feel threatened by them and they have the intent to kill me then yes. I have the right to go medievel on their ass.
``There can only be ONE``
i don`t care what the law states, anyone who breaks into your home has forfeited the right to live (since he obviously doesn`t give a hoot about your rights)
Excessive force is going beyond what is needed to protect your life or property. Considering it seems every wound inflicted was to the guy`s front, the guy wasn`t trying to run away before he was cut down.
As for your line about hobos attacking a guy in armor, if they were stupid enough to stick around after the first one`s head was caved in, yeah, I`d say killing them all is entirely justified, as they`re trying their best to kill you.
I actually fended off two burglars With my Katana, they where trying to get through my front door at 12:45 am, I burst through it holding it above my head, they dratING RAN.
What if you were robbed by a 50 hobos who had nothing but sticks, and all you had to defend yourself was a suit of armor and an iron mace. Would you then have the right to butcher 50 people in the most horrible way, all in the name of self-defense?
... if this happened anywhere else, the guy with the sword would be charged with excessive force. Unless the burglar had a gun, of course, but we don`t know that.
CASE IN POINT!
Ah, here`s a picture of the person who broke into Frank Corti`s home. The picture was taken after the police doctor had cleaned him up and treated him:
Punched twice? 72 year old? Shiiiiit. That guy`s drating hardcore.
I`m turning 23 on Thursday, so I doubt it`s age, unless 23 is "old". I`m in agreement with you, the student was defending himself from a home invasion, how can he be wrong? I`m sure he was in fear for his life. I predict they`re going to paint the student as a maniac who was lurking in his apartment waiting for anyone to walk through the door so he could kill them.
put it this way, if they had had a gun instead of a sword, the story might have been "students robbed in the afternoon, shoot drunk friend for walking in unannounced in the evening".
Im all for killing the f*cker who treads within the bounds of my homestead, but i am not pro gun. mostly because people are stupid =D
-Student slashed an intruder with a sword.-Intruder died.
2nd amendment man! you`re going to love this video:
Please provide references to this case. At least some names, so I can look into it.
In the UK, a person has a legal right to attack an instruder on sight. Their presence alone is deemed an immediate threat. This is confimed by a joint statement by the home office and the police.
The media does not make the law, or necessarily report on it accurately. Adding more exclamation marks doesn`t make something true, either.
Unless they prosecute the guy for manslaughter, which would be stupid, pointless and morally indefencable.
Do I know how to cut off your head, arm, or leg with it if you break into my home and try to stael or harm me? You bet your ass I do.
