Pic 2 = Emos
So you cant really compare those two
and:"kids who say they are non-conformist .. yet they all dress and look the same"it`s not about non conforming to everyone, and everything. it`s about non conforming to social norm. that`s all. no one can be original.
hardcore was about not giving a poo and causing a nusicance.
Why do internet things always end in flame wars... Makes me want to talk hippy dippy poo and hand out flowers.
THAT is what the hardcore scene is now.
"We Want Fun" was my theme song my sophomore year of high school!
Hardcore has gone down the crapper, but it`s only like this in a small subsection and there`s been quite a sizable backlash at the `scene` kids. Hardcore is safe, don`t worry. The below picture is quite an exaggeration.
Nu-uh. I`m a hybrid. Like a Toyota Prius.
And the Prius is so totally not gay.
I wear bright colours and watch cartoons and am outgoing.I also just bought a record player and plaid couch from Goodwill, I cut my own hair, and just wrote a song.
Where do I fall in?
a scene kid dresses in bright colors, likes to watch cartoons and is generally loud and obnoxious. an emo kid shops at goodwill, cuts their own hair and writes poetry
LOL Well, don`t mess with us metal fans.
It`s a god damn arms race
They`re all like `Oh, I`m differnt! I think differently than everyone else! I`m special! I`m also a whore, a slut, I`ll drat my best friend`s boyfriend, I`m 15 and been through 3 drug rehabs.`
And I`m actually describing one girl I know.
Honestly, there is no such thing as emo unless you`re dead or in a rehab facility and counseling. It`s sad but true. "
Scene kids are just as gay. Or gayer.
Honestly, there is no such thing as emo unless you`re dead or in a rehab facility and counseling. It`s sad but true.
well, ATTRACTIVE scene girls are effing awesome. i`ll agree with that.
Lol, you obviously get or got made fun of by these type of kids at some point in your life. And "soft form of metal"? You don`t know wtf metal is.
Actually, for the majority of hardcore`s history, most bands had either no political statements, left-wing/anti-Reagan political statements, or promoted anarchism.
As shown in the graph linked to at the bottom, anarchism and facism are at opposite corners of a left/right, libertarian/authoritarian chart. Now, this isn`t to say that the scene was always homogeneous.
Skinheads, originally a fairly benign subculture of punk, over the years became more politically minded. Now, skinheads are nearly synonymous with neo-Nazism, though there are are many who are vocal against this, holding a militant anti-facist stance.
Incidentally, emo was started because of a particularly bad Dead Kennedys show that started with "Nazi Punks F**k Off," and ended with the singer exchanging blows with a skinhead in the crowd.
It should be about not giving a fook who you are, what you look like, just get together ,slam have a good time with GOOD bands. But retards perceive what they think is cool and it grows like a virus. Ruining everything.
hardcore is now about style NOT the music!"
Pretty sure if you went on stage with in Hollister polos, at ANY point in time, people would probably laugh you off stage. Image has always mattered, it shouldn`t, but it has.
Even if you`re 29, you were born in 1980. So you were only 14, 15? When good mosh pits ceased to exist. XD
You can`t miss what you never lived through.
Okay, so you`re in the 18-29 group... how exactly old are you that you remember the "good ole days" when hardcore was still hardcore?
As far as I`m concerned, good music died out before grunge came out, and I wasn`t even in elementary school yet. So whi
thats whats wrong with the scene, it used to be about moshing, no one got hit intentionally well werent supposed to anyway it wasnt a fight, and if somone fell you picked them up. this "dancing" poo came about and drated up alot of scenes around the country. miami is a joke, it used to be real back in the poison the well days of opposite of december, now that was a scene thriving. men where men and women wanted men, and it meant something to be straight edge, and you respected everybody`s set equally. now lets spray some 80`s hair and learn a tapping riff and im the poo. drat that gimmie back the days of Bane, Terror, Poison the well (early days), shai hulud..i miss those days im gonna go cry now....
2 : Erm, is that really now? I looked like one of those kids 25 years ago...
hardcore is now about style NOT the music!
