I love how people AREN`T reading the story and just the headline. The school offers career placement services. There is a department in most schools that their only job is to find jobs for those who have graduated. The school is not holding up to their promise of finding her a job. It`s not that she isn`t looking, it`s just that the school isn`t keeping their promise.

wow.....this is really sad. If you are having trouble figuring out why your not finding a job in this economy with no experience mediocre grades then you don`t deserve to get a job.

I sadly will be graduating in a year with a degree but i will have to deal with the fact that there may not be positions open for me as soon as i come out that i may have to get a job not in my feild for a while till a spot opens.

    @ggolbez

See i did read the article. Now what she should realize that with what i said above and the fact that she has only been out for 3 months she needs to wait a bit longer. There are people who have been trying to get in there field for over that long. It takes time to find skilled positions right out of college anyways let alone you tack on this downturn in the economy. No one is hiring heavily atm.

Evidently this girl needs to go back to school and take some economy classes, not to mention realize that it is not the college`s job to find her a job. She has to take that into her own hands, if they`re not calling her back, call them back!

she is am idiot. You can`t guarantee a career, especially if you`re an average student.

and the caption `Who`s stupider, this girl or the lawyer that decides to take her case?` doesn`t make sense. It says in the article she is representing her self

It`s a 1099 world anyway! God some people want to get on a W-2 and get on a high tax bracket and give the government their hard earned income? Look at Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Christopher Gardner, hell I know a guy with a High School Diploma who makes 260k a year and has 147 employees working for him. Hey it`s risky, but I`m a college dropout, and I`ve been on a 1099 and I`ve been Bossless for 5 years now. I love it. I`m sorry for this poor girl I understand where she is coming from, but she can`t sue the school. There are no guarantees in life. You gotta go out and be proactive like that lady who made "Mortgage Apple Cakes" to save her house, she ended up creating a Non-profit that can help benefit others! She`s not going to win this case. I`m sorry.

She wonders why IT departments and companies aren`t leaping to hire her and her 2.7 GPA in an economy where MBA`s are taking retail jobs that pay less than 30K a year?

Is she aware of the fact that even those with 3.5 and higher GPA`s aren`t finding work in the IT industry?

Whoever took this case is exactly why lawyers get a bad rap.

It`s the same as others have said. Where I live there are NO jobs to be had. I have applied every single place in town about 3 or 4 times and nothing. I also went to school and pulled a solid 4.0 but it doesn`t matter if there are no jobs to be had.

3 months looking for a job right now is laughable. Anyone expecting to leave school one day and go to work the next is not living in the real world. Having only finished school 3 months ago and having no experience in the field yet while having only pulled a 2.7 GPA what would you expect?

And on a final note business information systems is a joke. Fools take that thinking they might get a decent job but it`s the easiest thing you can take and pulling a mere 2.7 in that really shows your not going to put any effort into a job if hired.

She JUST graduated three months ago! For christ`s sake lady, you have to give employers time to do their bureaucratic BS first. I`m a student working at Target and it took 1 1/2 months for me to get hired at Target! Yeah, It sucks that it takes so long, but you CANNOT expect to have a steady job just three months after you graduate... it takes a little time. Not to mention the sucky economy.

Here in the UK, where you can put a sign on a bus stop and it becomes a university, being a graduate does NOT automatically lead to a well paying job (if you can get one at all). The vast majority of graduates will end up doing average jobs like bar staff, call centre staff etc., especially with the plethora of nonsense degrees available - one Oxbridge university famously put a sign above the toilet paper dispenser "Sociology degrees - help yourself"

Quite honestly pet, suck it up. I`m registered with a recruitment agency whose sole job it is to find me a job - that doesn`t mean I`m sitting on my arse not looking for a job myself. It`s been more than three months for me too! (and it`s my birthday today...)

"They favor more toward students that got a 4.0."

No, really? I can`t believe that she graduated with a 2.7, some places won`t let you out without at least a 3.0 in business. As everyone else is saying shes stupid to think she was going to finish school and get a job right away, people who have worked a hell of a lot harder, with more experience under their belt can`t even find jobs along with the rest of us.

Besides I wouldn`t want to hire some dumb woman who possibly sues every time she doesn`t get her way. I`d also much rather have someone with a higher GPA because it shows they work hard and know wtf they`re doing.

She should get a life. I left college a year ago, not getting a job in the degree i studied for, and then, last month i got the boot from my pooty shop job as the company went under. I`m job hunting my ass off without suing anybody and only 500 in my account as i`ve had to use up all my savings paying for my freakin car.
Funnily enough, a lot of people are having this problem too but you don`t hear them tryna pass on the blame to some organisation who helped you try and make something of yourself.

    That isn`t true.
Civil prosecuting attorneys often work on contingency when they are suing for money, usually because the people who hire them don`t have any money to pay them unless they win.

If you go to a crappy university or an ivy, a 2.7 is bad because they give everyone good grades. If you go to a real university that curves every class, has good students, and doesn`t pull punches, a 2.7 isn`t horrible. It is just a little below average. So to everyone who was all "2.7?!", the answer is, yes, I am judging your university.
