That must have set them back about 50 bucks. I think they spent more on the logo than production.

I like the part where Sue goes invisible and immediately the two guys run smack in to each other. I don`t think the writers actually understood what "invisible" means. Also, why did those henchmen try to simply sandwich ram her with the side of their guns? Is this a new method of apprehension?

Apparently they spent $2 million on the film that they never even intended to release. I don`t see why they put this much effort in a dead film?

It may not have been as well produced as the more recent versions, but it was actually a better representation of the original comic books of the 60`s.

Does it really matter anymore? It`s all feathered hair and bright clothes.

Sadly I find this 100X more interesting that the two REAL films released combined. And that the stretching powers of Mr. Fantastic were better realized than that fake looking CGI crap.

I got a copy of this at Wizard World Chicago 1999. Go to Comic or Gaming Cons and you should have no trouble finding it.

A 10 year old with a Mac has access to better FX than Corman had. It`s cheesy fun.

Stan Lee only signed off on the paperwork to give New Horizons the rights to make a movie...that`s it. He didn`t have any final editorial say-so in it.

With the comic book movie craze of the early `90s and the success of TMNT, Marvel saw an opportunity and jumped on it. The only two mistakes that were made were allowing low-budget studios to make the movies and not insisting on editorial control of these films.

Marvel also had success with their many X-Titles during the Jim Lee/Rob Liefeld/Todd MacFarlane days. The only mistake they had made there was letting that talent go.

The newer F4 movies were far more suitable than the old ones were. Marvel also learned from their past mistakes.

And to think that Stan Lee actually signed off on this mess. He must have been really desperate for cash back then. Take that True Believers!

"The end of the final scene (it`s a wedding) contains a horrible "special effect" that would have made Ed Wood cringe."

This movie was unreleased in theatres, but has been available on video for many years.

It is positively AWFUL, and after you see it, you`ll see why it was never released in theatres. Fans of the Fantastic Four would have burned the theatres to the ground, and rioted in the streets.

I would only suggest renting it if you`re getting together with some friends to have a "Bad Movie Night".

The end of the final scene (it`s a wedding) contains a horrible "special effect" that would have made Ed Wood cringe.
