Oh, come on. They`re cute, obviously fed and clothed properly, alongside of actually being clean. They`re looked after and they`re enjoying themselves. Don`t find that too often these days.

Hell, my `rents spoon-fed me Thrash Metal since I was involuntarily dragged into the world >:3.

Oh, that.. And the little lass does the horns better than most of the recently crossbred "hardcore & screamo" kids ;D

like i said if it is a novelty or celebratory thing to dress them up that`s totally different. i don`t find hip hop culture to be too child friendly either. even in the most intellectual of rappers like immortal technique and jedi mind tricks there is a certain element of violence that children need not be exposed to. to each their own but this is a forum for discussion so don`t attack me for having a different view than yourself. i am not the only one out there. attacking me makes you the ignorant one buddy

i am neither ignorant nor unaccepting, you are attacking me instead of my argument which says alot about yours. from what i have read, and the people i have met that claim to be goth i have formed an opinion on the matter. the goth lifestyle includes alot of clubbing/adult nightlife, are these concepts a child should be exposed to, no.

oceanbeast: there is no such thing as "goth values". It`s up to the individual to work out their own values. I`ve known goths from all walks of life and all religions.

You can`t know what values these people hold just based on how they dress.

And clearly, you have no kids of your own, or you`d know if they kids didn`t like the clothes they wouldn`t wear them.

ocean, take your ignorant unaccepting opinions and cram them... This is in NO WAY bad parenting. Its a pair of parents who dress goth bringing their kids to a concert and dressing them up. SO WHAT?!?! I`d expect a hiphop couple to do the same with THEIR kids, or a country couple.... We ALL have different ways and beliefs. Who are you to judge?

how can you now see that this is a direct influence from their parents? its bad parenting, i could understand if it was a novelty like Halloween or something but you should se the best examples for your children. goth not being one of them, for what it stands for. you are introducing them into a world that is full of adult content, and even if not exposed at that age can lead them down that path. if you want to be counter culture go ahead, but at least wait till the kid grows up to expose them. we have all been to rock concerts and we know people are out there drinking smoking and fornicating. thats fine when you are an adult but its not good parenting

Some people never grow up and still try to do what they think other people will say is cool. But if you break it down for them, and force them to make their own choices, they still pick other people`s fashions/styles etc.

It looks to me like a renaissance festival (see the wood benches?) So what, my kids went as fairies last year and had a blast. Doesn`t mean we live as fairies. Unfortunatly instead of being people being creative we see so many "goth" inspired costumes it gets boring.

Oceanbeast its a matter of personal opinion that`s all I personally don`t understand why you felt the need to attack the nuse just for a simple opinionated post, it doesn`t mean everyone is like that. Plus kids like to play dressup and at their ages they more then likely don`t even realize what is going on their just having fun. Besides all the evil adult created problems with this, I think these kids are going to be just fine, and they do look really cute all dressed up like that.

it looks to be a gathering of goths, where goth ideals can be established much like church for churchgoers. now that we have an even ground to speak on church for the most part tries to teach people life lessons and promotes community and family values. what does being goth promote? read some lyrics or study a bit on the goth lifestyle. i don`t think thats a place for children and i don`t think they`ll learn anything positive there.

Male 549
i don`t understand why having faith is now looked down upon? i think the media does more brainwashing than anything else. those kids wouldnt even know where to find clothes like that without mom and dad, little kids are driven by a need to belong, that`s why everyone wants to be "cool" at that age. its clearly being pushed on them. let them be rebels when they want to be when they are teens and begin to think on their own. kids want to dress like their parents because they mimic what they see, why not give them a proper example?
0

Male 8
In all honesty, they look adorable, especially the little girl. They are more covered up than most parents cover their children, I see absolutely nothing wrong with this. I would rather my child wear all black, than go to a church to be brainwashed ANY DAY. If the parents were REALLY selfish, they wouldn`t let the children even be there, part of the family. Besides, I know my child likes wearing my clothes. Might as well let them look like whatever they want, it isn`t harming anyone.

no surprise but still sad. some people shouldn`t have children to begin with. seriously your role as a parent is to nurture protect and guide these children. style is thing of vanity and self expression, the parents are clearly pushing this onto their kids so that their friends will say "omg look at what cool parents you are by letting them dress like their douchbag parents" let kids be kids don`t put crazy ideas in their heads yet, there is no reason to goth out children except for their parents own ego

As an `alternative` parent, unless my children (at that age) asked me to dress like that, I would never force them too. I mean, yeah as babies, I used to go a bit wild; I used to dress my son up in this black onsie with a spider web on it and black n white striped pants. It was my favorite outfit for him. Looked like a Tim Burton baby :D
Anyway, who`s to say that the girl and boy didn`t want to dress like that? If mommy and daddy do, why not them? My kids headbang to music because of me, they want pink hair because of me (well, at least my daughters do), they want `mommy pictures` (tattoos) on their arms, they think that a tounge ring just happens and can`t wait for theirs to grow in (thank you hubby for that tall tale B-|). BUT I have seen parents force their children to dress like them. Hell, I HATE Tinkerbell, but I buy the stuff because my one daughter loves her.

are you implying that there is only one norm? there are places in the world where turbans are the norm yet you wont see too many in omaha nebraska for example. just because they dont look like what you think the norm is, doesnt make them non conformist kiddies, it just makes them kids with parents who want them to dress like all the other goth retards

The idea of conformism vs nonconformism is ridiculous in personal lives. Jeans and khakis are readily available (go go thrift stores). Jeans and khakis are comfortable. I will wear jeans and khakis. Because I`ve made a logical decision without any outside interference, I`m a sheeple.

Well in their social circles this kind of clothing is "the norm". All of them dress the same therefore they are conforming to this particular lifestyle! There are very few people who truly do not conform to a one style and goths are far from noncomformists.

Its just conforming to the "goth" lifestyle instead of the "fashionista" style. So both sides get the hell over it and enjoy the picture of the cute kids conforming to gothic lifestyle with their sheep parents.

When those kids are older they may not want to be goth!

Wow who give a crap. This is like posting a picture of a woman with bleached hair and a tan and having her daughter wearing a pink t-shirt and little kid jeans. Yet the only difference is I wouldn`t see many people complain about that.

HOWEVER I can see where you are coming from. When I have children regardless of how I may dress I would let my kids decide for themselves what they want to wear. A pretty little dress or jacket like that picture shows or a more average type of little kid clothing. It would be up to them to decide. and for all you know the kids may actually like what they are wearing.

Hell when i was little i used to like going places wearing my ice skating dress because I thought it was "Fairy princess" like. When they grow up they may not even WANT to wear those clothes anymore. And whether they do or don`t is really none of anybody`s business.

As much as you can tell from a single photo, these kids actually look like pretty good parents compared to the average (or more correctly, she is a good mother, he might be the boyfriend of the week). Her kids are clean, healthy, and obviously enjoying themselves, so I wouldn`t sum her up as a bad parent at all, from the available evidence.
