I blame Obama. Kidding, the situation actually works out.

OK, now this is the definition of overkill. Like aboredfool said, they coulda just explained why it wasn`t a suitable place and asked her to move it for her safety. No, instead the government shut down a seven year-old`s lemonade stand. Sad.

Good cause or not, she WAS trying to do something to improve her life, or at least give her great memories.

they could have asked her or her dad to just move the stand a bit farther back or something, not shut it down. but apparently, doing that would be too hard

$2 a glass!! She deserved to be shut down for price gouging. And yes, the irony of trying to teach her "no free rides", and then getting the tickets for free is very sweet indeed. Lesson learned: Cry and look cute, then everyone will give me what I want. She`s well on the way to womanhood.

$2 a glass is actually a really good deal for 32 oz. What is it at most kid run lemonade stands?: Like 6 oz. for 1$. Not price gouging at all.

i`m sorry but REALLY? They seriously shut down a kid`s freaking lemonade stand? That is just ridiculous. i don`t care if it was on a busy street...the dad was just trying to teach her how to make her own money. He could have just bought the tickets himself i`m sure but he wanted to teach her a lesson. I applaud him and think the city is stupid. The end

I live in Tulare and it`s not like this little girl was standing next to or in the street. The street is surrounded by orchards and dirt fields. People sell roses and strawberries around that area as well. I think it was made into too big of a deal for no reason, but either way she got what she wanted.

It wasn`t a "good cause" but many families here can`t afford to go places like Disney Land. It`s really sad.

"The little girl says she wants to go to Disney with her family, so they send her to a busy intersection to sell lemonade.

Jeez. They make her buy her own ticket at 7 years old?"
That`s a very good point actually. I understand the "no free rides" thing but come on, forcing a seven year old to buy her ticket to Disneyland?

Exactly Lionhart2, and the dad saying there are no free rides in life then getting the free tickets....ha classic. Oh yeah they gave the station 30 glasses of lemonade but even at the crazy price of $2 a glass that`s still lots of free rides at Disneyland...

Woah. Really? That cop must`ve been having a really bad day to do that to a seven year old.

I`ve never tried homemade lemonade. Watching the movie Problem Child when I was little ruined it for me.

Garbage, the parents had to be there selling lemonade too, not just the kid - what parent would leave a 7yo girl by herself on a busy highway intersection manning her stall? But I guess parents having a lemonade stall closed down for safety reasons isn`t newsworthy enough.

"what is it with americans and selling lemonaide.. "

Our job market sucks. If you don`t it`s either sell lemonade or live on the streets. Quite sad really. My father grew lemons HIMSELF just to give us a good life and sell lemonade at busy intersections. God rest his soul.

it turns out the radio station had a lemonade selling permit and sold the 30 glasses for $4 each, and the disney land passes were fake

Well it`s good to know things worked out in the end. That permit crap shouldn`t apply to a kid`s lemonade stand, but I agree the intersection wasn`t completely safe.

Hmm. A 7 y/o needs a permit to sell Lemonade? GTFO.

But I can understand it being in a bad intersection.

Love the outcome though. +1

For a `good cause`??!! Giving money to Oxfam or Save the Children is a `good cause`. Paying for another, under-privileged child to go to Disneyland would be a good cause. Putting the money towards going yourself is NOT a "good cause". Weird way for the reporter to describe it. "

....I don`t think they were being completely serious for a "good cause"... little kids don`t really understand what a "good cause" is at that age >.>

That junction looked pretty busy. Didn`t look very pedestrian friendly either. Was she expecting to get drive-thru lemonade customers??!!

But how will she learn, when they just give her tickets for free. /:)

I was also expecting something like this. To be fair the police weren`t harsh or unfair.

I should have set up a stand next to her`s and sell it for a buck. Drive her out of business, then buy out her little stand for $200, hire some workers to run both stands, and before you know it, I`ll have a franchise called Lemonbucks that will be selling lemonaid and pastries
