I remember back in the day when I had an awesome gaming stack with a HUGE 3.6GB drive, a 333Mhz processor and 256mb of ram. It was amazing about 10 years ago but now my phone would kick the poo out of it.

20 years is not a lot at all. A guy could go from 15 years old seeing those things, to now, a 35 year old guy using a tiny chip instead.

If my basic maths is right then theres just 13.4 years until we see a 1pb micro sd card. (Assuming that the max storage will double every 18 months)

it wont be long when hard drives go instinct. Our children will look at the hard drive as we looked at the A drive of the past.

also take into consideration we now can fit up to 32 gigs in a card that size now. (on the plus side, its no longer practical to bash someone`s brain in with 1 gig of data.)

iPirate, when I clicked on your link, it said it couldn`t be found.

That is one BIG gigabyte. It amazes and astounds how far we have progressed to make things tiny and better able to travel with.

1gb?

Try 32gb MicroSD cards...

Does anyone else find it absolutely mind blowing that they can fit 32gb into a 1cm x 1cm bit of plastic?

I just read SanDisk are hoping to develop a 128gb microSD by 2011...that`s almost 200,000 floppy disks. That would stretch almost 18km if put side by side...

The rate of development is just astonishing...we live in such a remarkable age!!
