thanks tequilar for making sense of the LGBT one
No it`s not shopped, you missed the point completely. It`s supposed to be ironic, she`s obviously gay, and it`s making an example of the ludicrous extremity of homophobes by saying we should destroy computers, despite how obviously essential they are to society (and, as she made an example, history) because they were invented by a gay guy. It`s supposed to be kind of darkly funny.
Because it`s shopped, like most of the rest.
As for #8, It isn`t telling you to slow down, it is saying they are slow. They are your targets, whoever hits the most wins.
good to know...(writes down)
She may have set it on fire later...
So are you disbelieving Wikipedia when it says that computers in the 1940s and 1950s would not have had the capability of storing or displaying images?
And we`ve not even mentioned the fact that Alan Turing would not have even HAD his own computer, considering they filled rooms at the time.
(Obviously it just HAD to be Swedish)
If you actually read the comments you would`ve noticed that a lot of people already pointed out that this sign is sarcastic ...
i guess americans do understand irony after all
I`m guessing you didn`t notice her rainbow flag...
I bet she uses her computer every day
Oh yes, because the early computers of the 40s and 50s were well-known for being able to display images.
The Colossus computer in 1944 was a 5.8 MHz machine.
Never mind the fact that the first scanned image was in 1957, three years after Alan Turing died.
"The first image scanner ever developed was a drum scanner. It was built in 1957 at the US National Bureau of Standards by a team led by Russell Kirsch. The first image ever scanned on this machine was a 5 cm square photograph of Kirsch`s then-three-month-old son, Walden. The black and white image had a resolution of 176 pixels on a side."
I particularly enjoy it when it goes off and I`m still SITTING THERE
Yeah, I`ll take one order of repeated headdesk please.
and i love the last one.
Otherwise these were pretty funny. O.o I just wonder what`s up with the first one? Haha...
HOW ABOUT YOUR FACE!!!!!!!!!
haha jp. +1 to the Michael Jackson sign
I`m pretty sure the woman holding the homo`s devil machine sign is well aware that computers were used pretty much on everything she is hold/wearing.
The Michael Jackson one is pretty funny, but it`s true. People die every day, and ONE weirdo dies and the world stops turning on its axis. Seriously guys, more than one person died that day. Farrah Fawcett and so did Ed McMahon, both died that day too. I wake up and the television is screaming `OMFG MICHAEL JACKSON DIED. Oh and btw, so did Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon.` I would have been more upset the Jeff Goldblum death rumors were true.
Also, I`m one post away from having truly made it here on this website. `Tis a momentous occasion.
Maybe she`s gay and the sign`s supposed to be ironic sarcasm.
the sign in the picture is ironic, yes alan turing the creator of the best test for AI designed, the man who developed computing technology decades ahead of its time was a homosexual, no just because you "think" he was a pedophile doesnt make it so
check your facts before calling other people tools you absolute scum
And damn it, leave MY PARK ALONE! Big Bone Lick might sound wrong but it`s a cool place! =P
And how did we, the British, thank him for this? We prosecuted him for being homosexual, considered him to be criminal and mentally ill, forced him to accept chemical castration, and drove him to his suicide at age 42.
We as a country have to bear the horrible guilt of not only this atrocity, but thousands upon thousands of others just as horrendous.
I`m really, really glad that we`ve come a long way since then. And things seem to be slowly improving Stateside.
The anti-gay one is NOT anti-gay; it`s anti-anti-gay, poking fun at stupid arguments against homosexuality.
Look at the "I agree with the SJC", which is referring to the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, which ruled in favour of gay marriage.
It made me realize the following...
Its impossible for something to be TOO insulting, for it merely becomes hilarious.
I live, like, 30 minutes away from Big Bone Lick!
My mistake. I took her for your typical nut-job protester. She kinda looks like Cindy Sheehan....
StarDagger, do I have to explain why your comment is pretty moronic?
Oh yeah, I probably do. You see, your making fun of people for something you couldn`t even figure out yourself.
The chainsaw one was hilarious though xD
Ali G - in tha house...
The South will rise again though!!! Only to get bitch slapped back down again by the North!!!
satirical because she`s holding a rainbow flag
my grandmother is avenged you dick
And does anyone else think the person in number seven looks like Nicholas Cage?
I wonder when Asspenny will learn about sarcasm.
(She`s holding a flag for dratsake)
I liked the Slow Children one - although I suspect that was just well graffiti`d.
Thank GOD I read that warning in time.
