same kind of religious nuts that had a cameo in Borat. They think "speaking in tongues" means babbling a bunch of nonsense. For some reason, in this video, these people find it hilarious.

That leader`s laugh sounds completely demonic btw.

i`m assuming most of the people on this thread feel that meditation is a legitimate practice, sitting in silence remaining motionless in an uncomfortable position. i`ve never been a part of the kind of things in this video but know that there is a feeling of release found in meditation that i assume could be found in something like this as well. the only thing i don`t trust about this is the fact that that fat preacher is probably getting filthy rich off of it.

You nailed it and what`s really, really scary is how easily ANY large group of people (ie; mob) can be made to `follow the leader` and behave in ways that are completely contrary to their normal self. Very, very scary! Of course that ole fat guy is laughing his a@@ off...after the show he`s going to the bank to deposit the MILLIONS he`s made off these people...laughing all the way!

yofuzzy, there are proper ways to sit and they are not natural. i don`t meditate often but when i do i often work up a sweat. the idea is to focus on your breathing until you are unaware of your physical state, and eventually, with much practice, you are supposed to be able to lose your focus on your breathing and focus on nothing at all, and simply be. or some mumbo jumbo like that.

This is called, "Holy Laughter", one of the great apostasies of this time. People with no good understanding of the things of God fall for any stupid `experiences` some charlatan like Hagin brings along. It is wicked, devil-driven and , as can be seen by many of the comments, gives unbelievers cause to blaspheme the name of Christ.

Sorry mate, but as an "unbeliever", you`ll forgive me for finding it hard to differentiate between "the real christians" (like you, assumedly) and the "apostasisers". I`m sure you`d denounce Westboro Baptist Church, but the Bible does after all call homosexuality an abomination in the eyes of God. Just as most moderate muslims would denounce the 9-11 attacks, even though the Koran calls for the death of infidels. I mean, you guys are all reading the same book, right? So how can I tell which interpretations of those same Bronze-Age texts have got it right, and which are the charlatans, full of apostasy?

I pity the idiots onscreen `cause they have no idea everybody knows it is entirely bullsh|t; that they`re acting insane on their own

I wanna go to a crusade or one of these things and be in the audience when he tries this and have an expression of complete nihilism
He`d probably point at me and say the devil is in me and try to exorcise me

Ok I believe in God. I believe Jesus Christ walked among us... But THIS GUY is a money-pandering charlatan. What would God do this to people for? Does he need us to be puppets for his own pleasure? No. This is mass hysteria, nothing to do with God. In fact, Kenneth Hagin is notorious for making claims about God that are completely wrong and always seem to serve himself rather than the God he claims to represent.

Anyway--Christ said it, we should all do it: Love God. Love your neighbor as yourself. Do this and all else will come to you.

Davymid: My church just did a series on sexuality. Background necessary here, one of the staff is a recovering homosexual who is now married and has children. He relates his experience the same way a recovering alcoholic would... The pastor did say that homosexuality is a sin-but also said that any person who judges, or holds a grudge or has even had lust in hi heart for another person (same sex or not) is just as guilty of sin. It`s like a pane of glass--it matters not if it is struck with a hammer or a cannonball (the so-called "severity" of sin that many so-called "Christians" like to talk about)--it still shatters. So the gay-haters are just as guilty in the eyes of God as those they bash. Jesus taught to love everyone. Period. Any "Christian" who talks about another race, creed, orientation or even religion with hatred or contempt had better examine themselves first. "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone".

I believe Jesus Christ walked among us.

I have no doubt that he did. I`m also fairly sure that his mum took it up the vag from the stable-boy and blamed it on a divine angel in the face of her virgin husband.

Come on, whole religions have been built on this sh*t. It`s time we wised up. It`s 2009 FFS. Virgin births don`t happen. You`d fail science class with honours for espousing this deeply retarded horse-wank. Please, people, open your mind some.

    *heads the f*cking desk*

    ----------

And as to quote: "one of the staff is a recovering homosexual"

Frankly, you f*cking repulse me. Homosexuals are not recovering from a disease. I am done with this abhorrent conversation.

I`ll respect Christianity more when you stop perpetrating intolerance and pity for those who are different than you, and then sugar coating it in the name of "love".

    It sickens me.

Davy mind that is why it is called a miracle. The religion Christianity wasn`t based upon Jesus` birth, but rather what he did for you. He was crucified so your sins could be forgiven.
Many churches who call themselves Christian are practicing things that were not in the bible at all. This is a good example of a false church.

Btw davymid, the bible is NOT the same as the koran. I`m having a difficult time writing this not to sound mean. If you read the bible it will become clear. Muslim`s view is to convert others or have them killed. That is IMO why they attack the US.
As for homosexuality, don11817 covered it well. You seem very concerned about this matter. Might you be asking us for your help or are you just curious?

What the hell is a "RECOVERING" homosexual? Do you know how you sound? Oh and BTW...he`s hiding it and all of you at your wonderful church are perpetuating a lie. Oh so because he`s "happily" married with kids make him straight? Wow...

Sims3k is right. The Koran does not say or imply anyone should be converted or killed. Much like extremist in any religion the Muslims that believe this aren`t fully aware of what their religion teaches and follow skewed teachings of someone they believe is more `learned` then themselves.

    Davymind:

Not to start an argument about homosexuality. Don didn`t use the greatest tact in stating his position, and I believe it is an incorrect term for homosexual people that become heterosexual. But many people believe homosexuality is a choice and just as many believe it`s innate. I think that`s where he`s trying to come from if it clears it up.

From my understanding, the point of different religions is to give choice to people, if there was only 1, 100% true religion and everyone knew it, there wouldn`t be much of a choice. You`d either follow it and/or know the outcome of your choice already, which kind of defeats the purpose.

    Don:

There isn`t a thing as a recovering homosexual. If you follow the idea that homosexuality is a choice, then people are making a choice. And if you follow the rest of the Christian teachings, unfortunately many `Christians` don`t, it`s not anyone`s place to judge, condemn, or even make it a church wide knowledge unless the person wishes it to be so.

If people were more honest with themselves and what they know the world would be a much better place.

One has to wonder if many of the believers have even read the bible, if they think it`s literal truth. I`ve recently started to read it and i`m just flabbergasted that anybody does.

To be a little more on topic; what a bunch of wankers. Especially the fat dude walking around, but also the heard of mindless artards who are acting all this out. Cause that`s what it is, there`s no God involved here, only dumb people in high concentrations.

Liquid--Yes there is such a thing as a recovering homosexual. This person on staff at the church got up in fron tof everyone and gave his testimony, so it is public knowledge. He came to Christ after living as a homosexual for years, and has since changed his life. Just goes to show that Jesus saves everyone. Loves, everyone. That was the point. I am not the one who called him "recovering"--he himself did. It was his description, much like an alcoholic may describe themselves. Davymid- be repulsed. I am only repeating his description of his own life--sorry if his life offends you. Maybe you should spend more time away from people so you don`t run into anyone who might repulse you by their existence. The whole point was to say that not every church feels the way you grouped them all into and you went off the deep end. I get it you hate church-but don`t throw out the baby with the bath water because of a few over-zealous people claiming to represent Jesus.

I agree that homosexuality is a legitimate sexual choice, and also that your more fundamental christians are prejudice asses. But to match intolerance with intolerance and vulgarity just makes you look like a comparable ass, yourself.

Another way of looking at the homosexuality thing is that this "recovering" homosexual is forcing himself to not be homosexual because he believes that it is wrong, a prejudice advocated by fundie christians. Perhaps he would be a happier person if he could live as he wanted to, and as he is, rather than by rules dictaded 2000 years ago by what i would have to call bigots. Even saying that there is such a thing as "recovery" from homosexuality is utter bigotry, because as far as i`m concerned it`s not a choice and it`s not "treatable" by any other means than brainwashing. Think our way or burn in hell, how very friendly. Jesus saves all. Except those who don`t blindly follow his rule. Sweet.

Megido--Jesus saved him. NOT because he became heterosexual, but because he gave his life over-and part of that was, in his mind and heart, changing his sexuality because HE wasn`t comfortable with it. It was a problem to him, so in his heart he had to make a change for himself.

As for "Think our way or burn in hell, how very friendly. Jesus saves all. Except those who don`t blindly follow his rule" I never said that--and NEITHER DID JESUS. I am sure 100% that there will be homosexual people in heaven alongside murderers, thieves, prostitutes, drug abusers, you name it--it will be there. Why? GRACE. No human is perfect--all fall short, all have sinned. Every person alive will surely die and those who have accepted the grace of God (not the religious crap espoused in Westboro, or any other Baptist Church for that matter) will be in heaven alongside Jesus.
Look at Jesus` life: he hung out with the "dirty", the outcast, the "unclean". He lov

He loved them all anyway. The rules are a joke-Jesus himself mocked them. Christians should take note: Jesus came to fulfill the law not enforce it. He came to break the rules, not make more. Jesus proved by his own ACTIONS and words that he didn`t buy the religious crap either.

THAT was my point, to those who missed it or wanted to pick a fight instead... Jesus is not about rules or religion--he hates religion. He is about grace. Period. All else is garbage. Religion is man-made and God used it to prove that we don;t need it. WE only need grace and we have it already. Jesus said it and lived by it. Maybe a reread of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John is in order to see his own words...

Jesus said about judgment: Mat 7:3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother`s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
Mat 7:4 Or how can you say to your brother, `Let me take the speck out of your eye,` when there is the log in your own eye?

Don: Are you really that stupid? He was homosexual but incredibly uncomfortable with it, then he found Jesus and suddenly was not gay anymore? You must realize that the only reason he would ever feel uncomfortable being homosexual is because of the silly prejudice around him. If there was no stigma attached to homosexuality, why would you feel uncomfortable being gay? Suppressing your homosexuality to live up to some religious ideal will not make you happy.

As for what jesus said, he also said that you should despise your family and yourself, but i don`t see you quoting that part. Luke 14:26.

HAHA. God (no pun intended), I-A-B just never misses a chance at a religion war. I think Bayside sums it up best in one of their songs:

Maybe you can trick a lot of them
Maybe if you fool the best of them
    The rest will come around

    We`re all scared
So they dressed you up in all these
    Different names
I`ve gotta find peace with myself
    Before I give you all
Before I give you anything at all

I think its funny you`ve been quiet for so long
When you`re quiet no one proves you wrong
    And dear your holiness
    Your army`s safe and sound
They`re down here dying for you

Gotta love some anti-God rock. PS. No such thing as a "recovering homosexual", stfu.

The point, --as much as you like to distort it to suit your anti-Christian agenda-- was that all people are sinners--we are all on even ground--it is ONLY black and white with no grey area. I am as guilty of sin as the most heinous of murderers is, because as I said earlier sin is like a pane of glass--it matters not if you strike it with a hammer or a cannonball it still shatters. YES homosexuality is a sin. YES judgement is a sin. YES lying is a sin. Yes lust is a sin etc etc... When I said they will all be side by side I mean all of humanity will be there. I know that doesn`t fit your myopic viewpoint of Christianity--Sorry. Jesus wouldn`t fit modern Christianity either.

    Don,

All I have is an intolerance for is intolerance. I`m all about inclusiveness. I presume (as you are a devout Christian) that in your world view, anyone who is not saved by the Lord Jesus Christ (i.e. Christian) is going to burn in hell for all eternity, tormented and ravaged by demons for all time. All the atheists, all the Muslims, all the Hindus, all the Jews, all the Zoroastrians, all the traditional Chinese Animists, all the Shintoists, all the sinners (including those sinful homosexuals) who have not come to *your* lord Jesus Christ and asked for forgiveness.

Yeah, I know. You didn`t make up the rules.

If you had been born in India, rather than than in the Christian Miswest, you`d be a Hindu. If you were born in the Middle East you`d be a Muslim. If you were born in Scandanavia in the time of the Vikings you`d be worshipping Odin and Thor.

And yet you presume to sit there and judge (yeah, got it, Jesus is doing the judging, not you), that everyone who is not of your particular faith is going to burn in hell for eternity.

I don`t have an intolerance for Christianity. Hell, I`m a recovering Born-Again Christian myself (100% true story, echoing with your "recovering homosexual" anecdote). I have an intolerance for any belief system which would label other people as inherently sinful for such heinous practices as being born gay, or born into another religion in another part of the world. Sorry bub, eternal hellfire for you. Unless you convert to my team, of course.

Anyways, this thread is dead. See you on the next debate.

Funny thing is, I never once said that anyone was going to hell in any of my posts. Assume what you will. I think your presumptions are based on your understaqnding of Christianity--which mirrors what you call the "Midwest Christian" viewpoint. I, am a fruit off a different tree. I have been to fundamental Christian churches and usually disagree with their mindset. I believe firmly that Jesus was the Christ--but the title "Christian" would not fit me because I strongly disagree with the modern Christian church. O, I get lumped into the category, but my beliefs are very different. Yes I believe parts of the Bible are accurate. NO I don;t believe it is all divinely inspired and I actually hold a lot of contempt for Paul, the self-appointed Apostle and will not hold his writings up as God`s word. This places me at odds with most of Christianity today... Please don`t presume that a Christ follower is a bible-thumping right wing traditionalist evangelical Christi
